This Tops has an amazing amount of selection and variety. The assortment selection can not be beat, there may be nicer, fancier, or cheaper stores in the area, but you will not find more choices anywhere. The store looks a bit dated, but is still super clean. The team does a great job at different displays to celebrate the season and make a statement. The is a large amount of space so even when the store is busy it does not feel like it is crowded. The staff here are helpful and friendly. All areas of the store are mobility accessible.

The carry out cafe is dirty. I do not recommend eating here unless you want to take your chances with a bout of diarrhea.

I am not a regular tops shopper but seeing the new "grand reopening" we decided to give it a try. We don't usually shop tops for 2 reasons, they tend to be dirty and prices are skewed by shopper club discounts which are not always easy to figure out. We grocery shop to buy food, not play a guessing game. So in we walk to the new remodeled store (with the old squeeking doors) to see the new flooring covered with various litter. Throughout the store same story, new materials that already showed dirt from not being cleaned for the week. Pretty much end of story.Update:I went back a week later to make sure I was fair in my review and sure enough, litter on the floor just about everywhere you look. I'm going to add that the scan & go should be renamed scan & don't go because scale was so sensative and electronics so slow to be a total waste of time.

Make sure to check expiration dates on all the food. I've bought everything from butter to crackers that were literally months past they're expiration. Disgusting.

Got gas at 645 this morning once again the guy at the gas pump station cant get me a recipe i have a business and need them this is the 3rd time iv paid money for gas and received no recipe i will no longer be using them for fuel

I went into the store this morning to buy some Prosciutto on sale. Well I get it home and it's rotten sticky and yellowish lwill never buy from the specialty area ever again. I'm sure the employees in that area are having a good Laugh at the review I almost always shop at Walmart but Stopping in the tops rarely. I knew I couldn't trust them.

I Have Been Going To This Tops For Several Years I Usually Never Have A Problem. Food I Need Is Usually Always Stocked. Store Is Always Clean. But Most Recently This Year I Hate Going As I Dread The Cashiers Working There. I Bit My Tongue A Few Times But Next Time I Will Not Tolerate The Disrespect From Their Miserable Cashiers. The Manager Is On Point And Goes Above And Beyond I See When In The Store I Believe Her Name Is Sandra But The Cashiers Are So Rude Disrespectful With No Customer Service Skills I Once Witnessed 2 Cashiers Talking Whole Time While Cashing Me Out About One Of The Managers Which Was Not Called For I Wanted To Tell The Manager Then About Those Two Males Behavior But Most Recently A Cashier Named Chantel Whom I Assume Still Working There Made An Ignorant Comment About Me To The Customer In Front Of Me I Was Hurring Up Throwing My Food Up On The Belt As I Always Do And Chantel Tells This Elderly Black Woman "Oh She Throwing The Food As If She Gonna Get Out Of Here Any Faster" The Older Lady Chuckles She Proceeds To Talk And Be Friendly With This Woman Lady Had Coupon For Free Turkey Although Forgot To Grab One So The Lovely Manager Who I Said Goes Above And Beyond Ran Back To Get The Lady Her Turkey Now I Had No Problem Waiting As I Have Patience Although When It Was My Turn To Be Cashed Out Chantel Didn't Have Much To Say To Me Then All Of A Sudden Asked If I Needed Bags As If She Didn't See My Kids At The End With Bags Waiting This Whole Time As Lady Was Being Cashed Out And Waiting On Turkey I Politely Told Her No We Will Bag Then She Asked If The Coupons I Had Sat Down On Counter Were Mine I Said Yes Then That Was It No Type Of Greeting No Nothing Although Was So Polite Laughing And Talking To The Older Woman Who Was In Front Of Me I Know I Look White To Some But I'm Actually Native American Seems Like Cashier Was Being Racist As Well As She Did Not Give Me The Same Customer Service As The Previous Person Before Me Who Was African-American Like Chantel Is Why Be Friendly To One And Not All Customers Like If You Want To Be Rude With Poor Attitude Talking About Customers To Other Customers Take Yourself Somewhere Else This Tops Needs To Do Better On Who They Hiring As Cashiers Big Time If I Would Have Called Out Chantel Behavior To Her Face It Would Have Gotten Ugly!!!

When it comes to service, they have Wal-Mart beat. Their only downfall is that some of their items are priced way higher than Wal-Mart's. I would choose Tops over Wal-Mart 9 out of 10 times.

Price wise this place is great! I always seem to get a lot of savings with their Bonus Card, and what's really nice is if you forget yours they let you use theirs. You don't get your points, but savings is savings whichever way you look at it.This location is always busy, no matter what time of day it is. Open 24/7 (unless stated for holiday purposes) which is great! Unlike Walmart during rush hour they have many lanes open which helps make it run faster and you're never in line for more than 15 minutes, possibly less. Self check out is another story. I feel like there should be a limit on who can use self checkout by how many items they have with them. At night, I believe after 11pm - Self Checkout is the only form of checkout open. So keep that in mind, especially if you're in a hurry.One negative is how disgusting the bathrooms are. Their never clean, and there's always some sort of bug species flying around in there. Yuck!

We bought 5 items here. Two packs of hot dogs were expired- we saw this before we left the store. One pack of hot dogs had a hole in the packaging and we had to returned before we left the parking lot. A box of cookies that were expired for over a month, which wasn't noticed before we left.The odds of that many items being damaged or expired is ridiculous..

This Tops is prime location for all your shopping needs. Tops itself is nice also because they're a international store so they carry a lot of specialty food products. Multi Cultural. Their hot foods and deli are great. Nice friendly customer service in all departments. At times the customer service desk has a wait as they will have only one representative taking care of multiple tasks. Good pricing on most items if you catch sales. Other times it can be pricy.

I like their prices with the bonus card but I'm not impressed with the produce. Meats are good and fresh buns at the bakery are the best. Lines are long, cashier's are slow and they don't take pride in bashing things properly.

Tops constantly plays price games- and it’s irritating. Why can’t you just be normal?My latest example I went to get chicken thighs for the grill yesterday- they were all over $10. “Why are these so expensive?” Then I see- BUY ONE GET ONE FREE WITH BONUS CARDI don’t want 2 things of chicken thighs- I want one for 5 or 6 bucks like every other grocery store in America. But in tops- if you don’t buy 2- OR if you don’t have a bonus card, they will overcharge the snot out of you. They’ll take your shirt off your back if they could if you aren’t carrying one of their bonus cards.It seems petty- but this is an identity for tops- price games- ripping customers off- and an annoying one. Other stores are better.

The employees are usually helpful and courteous. The store is usually clean, organized, and easy to find items. Be prepared that this location seems busier than other locations in the area because of the proximity to the US-Canada border.A lot of canadian shoppers cross over to shop here.They usually have good sales and promotions. Sometimes sale items are out of stock though.

Convenient for me and good selection of products. Produce is horrible ninety percent of the time. Not enough cashier's. Older employees not helpful, they seem to be just putting in their time. Younger employees are much more helpful.

I was just there earlier at the meat department. I picked up some ground beef, and the package was leaking. I told Bruce Watson, and he got smart with me by saying you were carrying it. I told Rachael at the self checkout and she didn't seem to care. I wouldn't set foot in this store again.

One of the worst restrooms I have experienced in my life! No toilet paper, uncleaned, smelly. Wife said womens restroom was just as bad. You can pretty much judge a business on how they keep their restrooms.

Good looking store. Need more female employees. The man with glasses greeting people at the front of the store is way too friendly to young children coming into the store. He needs to mind his own business about strange kids. sAnd one short girl with dark hair named Hannah is really cold and rude.She works at the front of the store.She will hurt women customer feelings being so rude.

Don’t order pizza from this Tops. We ordered a large pizza and when we got it home and opened the box, it was burned to a crisp. We took it back and received a full refund. How can anyone give a pizza Iike that to a customer and expect them to be happy? We will never go back

Handsome large store. But I have seen ants in it. A whole in the floor near where they sell like peanut butter needs to be repaired. They have just got to get this store a little cleaner. The problem is the store is over 20 years old now.

Typical Tops Supermarket..produce department is good as well as the meat department. They just recently started the program of food delivery to your car. To make it easier they have designated parking spots for pick-up. This location also has a gas station.

It’s okay, I’ve come here many times over the years. They have a good selection and they should. The store is very big. The location isn’t convenient unless you live right there or are picking up things to sneak into the theatre down the road. Is it worth going out of your way to go to Wegman’s? No.

It's true when you have a bad experience It ruins your whole perception. I don't like shopping at Portage Ave tops because, I found half of the items to be old so I go out of my way to shop at tops on Niagara falls Blvd. I was very disappointed in the staff there. The beef hotdogs were on sale for $4.99 and they rang up at $5.99. So i told the lady at self checkout and she called the meat department to do a price check. The man told her he checked it was $5.99 at which point I left the line to go take a picture of the sign. Clearly the man did not do a price check. The sign clearly said the beef hotdogs were on sale for $4.99 with bonus card. She stated if I want the hotdogs or not. My children do not eat pork. I still have the picture of the transaction and of the sale sticker. I still purchased the hot dogs, because my kids wanted them. Poor customer service.
