My baby needed a good bath and brushing, but more importantly, his nails trimmed, and his hiney area trimmed. He's only 5 months old, and although typically good around people, this is his first grooming appointment. In speaking with the groomer, he did well with the bath, brush, and hair trim, but the nails, he was shakey and kept peeing. I will say that I have more experience with dogs that have the white nails since I can see the vessel, but his nails are black, and I tried once. He bled a little. Then, when he had a vet appointment, they made a nail bleed as well. I think, obviously, this made him nervous about his nails. Although he was extremely nervous, Petsmart, from what I could tell from looking at the nails, didn't make him bleed and also grinded them down. I hope that with this continual positive experience, he will learn to be more comfortable.I will say though, the entire first grooming visit was roughly $25ish but the nail grinding was $15, which I find to be expensive. It's almosy the price of the entire bath, brush, cleaning, nail trim, etc.
