I moved to New Paltz in 2018. I have been a loyal customer to the Tops in New Paltz because the lay out is well planned out and food options are amazing. I found most employees to be friendly and helpful.On the 31st of August I went on my lunch break to pick up few items I needed for dinner. As usual I forget my bags, so I walk in and grab a bag like I always do to place my items in because there are never any baskets out front. I suddenly hear a woman yelling at me that I have to pay for the bag. I turned around and everyone in that area was looking at me. The woman had blonde hair and was over by customer service. I have always paid for my bags so I'm not sure why some random women would embarrass me in front of everyone. It was uncalled for and I have never been treated in such a manner. I walk over to her and I asked for a basket. Then she goes on to tell me that they keep the baskets behind the customer service counter because people "STEAL" them. It was at that moment that I thought to myself that I will not purchase this bag and left it on the counter. I will never shop at Tops Supermarket again.

I've gone there twice trying to get a taco salad. Different times and different days. All I get is excuses and NO apology for my in inconvenience. A far cry from the Great experience I've had in the Lewiston store several times

I will still give the store five stars, for the most part the safest friendly in the store is clean and well stocked.I understand that the hand baskets have to be locked up because college kids like to take them and they're expensive. But I'm not a college kid and when I ask for one and have to pull someone off of what they're doing, I'm met with the worst body language and attitude. I didn't make the decision to hide them, please don't make me feel like I did something wrong by asking. Leave the attitude in your car, don't bring it to work with you! Again .. a lot of good people here .... like The Jackson 5 said ... "One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch baby"Again.... again

This grocery store has a very large selection, and I’ve never had to settle for something other than what I’m looking for. Open until midnight, my night munchies are always satisfied, and rarely do I have to wait on line. They have 16 self check outs, and more than 10 cashiers. It’s extremely clean, very spacious, seemingly endless parking. Definitely the best grocery store in new paltz!

Res Mervaj was excellent. Truly such a wonderful one of a kind human. She went from customer service to floral to assist us with a bouquet we wanted. She was so personable and I can tell she truly loves her job and she is the epitome of what a great employee should stand for. She was patient and personable, engaging in conversation throughout our encounter. I hope she sees this and knows that the pregnant woman and her boyfriend appreciated her more than what I could put in this message! Thanks so much!

They live uo to their names. They are tops, and they are friendly.Nestled in a varied shopping plaza, just outside of downtown New Paltz. I like their variety, quality and prices. The shoppers are friendly also. plenty of parking, despite the plaza always being abuzz with activity.

Although Tops Friendly Markets are awesome, I’ve never been to a supermarket that accepts “cash only.” Also, customer service in this store could definitely improve. However, thank you for providing us goods and services every day!

I am very thankful for this grocery store! There are always great sales - especially on meats! The people who work here are always nice and helpful. Many times I have asked the vegetable guys to go check for things in the back for me, and they have always done it with delight. The customer service counter is always helpful. The store is always very clean, organized, and well-managed. Their pre-made pizzas are really good and usually really inexpensive. Overall, there's no reason why I'd ever shop at the other grocery store in town. Tops is the place.

Huge store great selections on both organic/natural and regular products. A good amount of isles as well as self checkout. Seafood and meats always look good and fresh.Small fresh olive bar. A decent selection of non-grocery items such as personal hygiene,vitamins and otc pharmacy products

I think Tops Market has a great vegan selection. They have a wonderful regular selection too. They are neat and clean. Their staff is helpful and go out of their way to help you. The produce selection is varied. It's clean.

Tops pharmacy always gives me the best prices on my prescriptions. Gotta say, I can't help but to like the rest of the store as well. It's always clean and the people are friendly. Prices are up everywhere, but that's Definitely not Topps fault. That's everywhere. I still feel I get more from Topps than I do from other stores in the area, for the same money.

This store is always clean and ordered. The aisles are wide enough to navigate comfortably. The Tops organization responds to consumer input. The volume of the in-store radio PA has been reduced some, which is appreciated, and the programming is much better than it was in the summer of 2017. It is no longer annoying. Food choices are many, with two well-stocked organic aisles. The pharmacy is good to have in-store and the staff is pleasant and professional.

Open 24 hours which is pretty cool, however, God forbid you try to get anything when they are restocking. Managers were no help and basically sent me around the store asking other managers if they could simply stock an item and most of them were rude and dismissive and I couldn't purchase anything. You will have much better luck at Shop RiteEdit: they are no longer open 24 hours

Great beer selection, and lots of good international and specialty foods, but their produce section could use some love. They never seem to have the produce I'm looking for. They're still using the old, long-belt style self-checkout, which is annoying.Staff have always been friendly and helpful.

Produce is good and the overall selection is great. The meat here is kinda meh though. It's not bad per say, but the variety can be pretty minimal at times. I've seen stuff like brisket here like one time out of 8 that i've gone. There cheese selection is really good.

Friendly service but "Fort Knox" video surveillance cameras all above can leave one feeling a little uncomfortable. A bit more pricier than local rival Shoprite. A great improvement would be less attitude & more smiles.

Don’t understand why an out of season flower pot priced incorrectly wouldn’t be honored after making the consumer wait. Good customer service doesn’t cost much.

There is usually one overnight cashier. One is usually very nice and the other one on numerous occasions has been nasty to me and it was over the top on the early morning of July 4th. She was angered that I came in a few times with bottle return slips and she said in a very hostile voice you can only have 12 dollars a day total. Not even the correct policy. It's per type. I told her...do you think I want to do this I lost my job and am trying to get by on the few dollars I make a day. Be I g that I have been always nice and had to explain that was very demeaning especially to someone who suffers from a disability. It was cruel to treat anyone that way even if there cashing bottles I have been a customer of that store. I would have FIRED some one on the spot for such rude and disrespectful behavior. She seems to be bothered to have to do any kind of work. I plan to spread this around and boycott the store and go to Shop Rite.

Though a little pricey, Tops has great produce and product variety. I've never had an issue with the customer service or occasional returns. I also use their pharmacy, and the main pharmacist is knowledgeable and kind, as are most of the pharmacy staff. I've had bad experiences with one of the female pharmacists, however...who misinformed me. I may now be filling my pet rx elsewhere as a result, but still prefer Tops to other grocery stores.
