Made the appointment 3 times days prior called to confirm the lady told me yes and came here the blond old blonde lady was extremely rude we asked her if at least we could get the pills and she started to go crazy that they don't carry the flea pills and to order it somewhere else even doe we pay for the plan and we have months getting it here, we ask her to see the vet and she said no, we ask her to reschedule for wellness check and illness and said they don't do that here? I been coming for months and she lying .... I had to keep insisting to make an appointment on Thursday even doe I had it for today and didn't got the pill because she saying they don't carry it anymore... don't waste your time here this staff sucks go to green acres location

Awesome place with smart doctors and helpful people.Anytime I bring my pet I get to drop her off and when I come back she's fully vaccinated and healthy! The manager is super understanding and will always try to work with people which is really helpful. It's loud sometimes because of all the pets but that's it, otherwise perfect.

Currently pet sitting and had to bring the dog in for an appt. Originally asked for 11 am appt they insisted I bring him in at 9 am. Brought him in and they said he would be ready in 1-2 hours. It has been almost 4 hours already I cannot reach them. I am currently on hold on the phone approaching 20 minutes on hold. This is ridiculous that they are MIA. Do better on your customer service.

My cat passed away due to saddle thrombus. We repeatedly complained of lethargy and they said nothing was wrong, but she had heart disease. I don't believe they do anything besides give vaccines for the optimum wellness plan.

Love my Banfield... I have a havanese dog and a kitty. They are both on Wellness Plan. If they sneeze or poop funny I bring them in. Of course there was the emergency squeeze from escalator on my poor guy Jayce that they helped me through. All vaccines and teeth cleaning handled just only pay out of pocket for medication.

My dog Nash gets anxious and they were so accommodating to allow me to remain with my dog instead of drop off.

I typically refrain from writing reviews, but I feel compelled to share my disappointment with the service and professionalism I have encountered. The experience with their app, which I used to schedule an appointment for my dog, was incredibly frustrating due to its sluggish performance. It took a staggering 30 minutes just to secure an appointment through the app.Furthermore, when I resorted to calling the establishment to make an appointment, the frequency with which they asked me to hold was exasperating. I have endured numerous instances where I found myself waiting on hold for a significant duration of 30 to 45 minutes. This level of inconvenience is highly unacceptable. To compound matters, they called me and requested that I drop off my dog between 8 and 10 a.m. for a 12:30 p.m. appointment. Such a request is extremely frustrating, as I specifically chose the 12:30 p.m. time slot for a reason. It seems their disregard for punctuality and honoring appointments is quite evident. Moreover, their responsiveness over the phone leaves much to be desired. On multiple occasions, they have failed to pick up my calls, forcing me to resort to contacting another location. Unfortunately, this alternative also led to enduring extensive waiting times of over 30 minutes on hold.Overall, I am deeply dissatisfied with the service and lack of professionalism demonstrated by this establishment. Such shortcomings in efficiency, appointment management, and customer support have left me thoroughly unimpressed.

My puppy went for vaccines the next day he couldn't walk. Called numerous times and they said you can bring him but can't guarantee he will be seen. Took him the following week since they had appointment and found out he had an infection. He had not been around other dogs only at their hospital. This location in crawford is very overworked they severely overbook appointments and don't really try. The front staff is friendly but I don't even know what goes on behind closed doors. My dog still cannot walk and looks miserable will be seeking second opinion.

Honestly, it may not be their fault - but this specific Banfield has decreased in quality ever since things started picking up after the height of the pandemic. They are ALWAYS low staffed, and whether or not you have a drop-off appointment or are just coming in expecting to quickly pick-up, it will just take hours 'til you're out of there. I'm not sure where the problem is - if they just book too many dogs that they can handle in a given day or if they're greatly low staffed that they just cannot handle multiple things - including handling phone calls. Speaking of which - I'm sure that they would prefer you book appointments online, however no matter what it will always be full. However, waiting on hold for an hour on the phone will enable me to get an appointment slot even earlier than what is supposedly booked online. This Banfield would just overall benefit from reflecting on their organization, and handling of appointments.

You can never get an appointment at this it any other Banfield location. I am writing this review in April, I can’t find an appointment in May!The new silent policy change is that you have to drop off your pet, they will keep your pet caged all day and whenever the doctor feels like checking them out they will. I have had the wellness plan for 8 years, I am cancelling it and going to another Hospital,

Banfield only seems to be a good idea if you need general wellness care. I went to actually discuss a medical concern regarding my kittens GI sensitivities and I felt they were rushing all appointments and not giving their full attention and the actual vet didn’t even listen to what I was saying. They also majorly push the Hill’s food brand just because they’re a sponsor, my cat pukes up Hill’s food and they refused to give me the brand I really needed. It seems to be all about making money, not a good place if you have an urgent medical concern but seems okay if you just need vaccines

We chose the worst and heartless doctor to put down our beloved dog. We took our dog here for her last visit. It was very difficult for us. Betsy, the front desk, was the only good thing about that place. Dr. Koslow told us it would be peaceful and painless. But he ended up sticking her 3 times bc my 8 pound dog barked when he stuck her the first time - I guess the needle fell out of his hand? Then stuck her again for a second time and she panicked. Then he stuck her for the THRID time, and that's when I had enough. Painless? Peaceful? My dog jumped on me. Vet seemed cold and as if this was just another day, another dollar. Maybe he has to be like that, but this is the worst way to put your dog down. Then he wouldn’t leave the room to allow us to mourn in peace - he kept talking and talking about non sense- like the effects of the injection. Just the worst way to let you dog go. Should have went to BondVet.

The doctor missed an infection that my cat had through her lab work. Dr ranfield. They also when I asked for X-rays for my cat who is limping and in pain elected not to do them and neglected to tell me. They suggested another hospital previously Crawford and when I brought my cat there they didn’t weigh my cat and told me I would have to bring her back after I took off. They also never gave me the results of previous X-rays. Terrible customer service and will not use them again.

The care that my cat, Kimber, received at Banfield New Hyde Park was amazing!!! The front desk personnel was remarkable, and the nurses were very attentive and loving. Kimber's doctor showed great concern and understood my need to be honestly informed about Kimber's health. I would definitely recommend Banfield New Hyde Park

This is the best hospital I have been so far. The reception clerk is friendly. The doctor is professional and nurses are kind as well. My kitten got nurtured in this hospital. The procedure is quick and clean. My kitten didn’t suffer from anything after the procedure. Also the wells plan saved me so much money. I recommend this hospital to all pets owner.

They need more staff and veterinarians, there simply isn’t enough staff to meet the client demands. The staff are all excellent but seem over worked here at this location and I believe they need more personnel. It is impossible to get an in-person appointment let alone an emergency appointment. I have a banfield plan and I’m considering cancelling on account of how difficult it is to get an appointment for my dog when we really need one. I left my dog for drop off appointment twice this year since there was no other way of getting her in and both times ended up dropping her off at 830 am and picking her up at 6 pm since she wasn’t ready til the end of the day. I understand things happen and there are other clients that take priority in true emergencies but for my 50 lb dog to be left in a crate for more than 8 hours on two separate occasions has tarnished my respect for the business. And when I call to schedule an appointment 9/10 no one answers the phone. Seriously reconsidering keeping this care plan.

If you are looking for a caring, compassionate, well informed vet team, do not go to Banfield. Due to COVID-19, the new process is that the vet meets you and your pet in the waiting room and brings your pet to the back, without you; completely understandable. Well, this didn’t work for my dog, as he is a highly anxious senior. The first attempt, Dr. Emily brought him into the back and quickly returned, informing me that my dog would not even allow her to lift him onto the exam table. I apologized and told her that before COVID, I would be in the room with him and he would be fine. She went to ask the manager if it was at all possible to use an exam room. He came out from the back and was visibly irritated. He literally tossed a blanket onto my lap and said “wrap him in this”. I wrapped my dog and handed him to the manager. They went back to the exam area. I immediately heard my dog SCREAMING, which made me very uncomfortable. The vet came out again just a minute later and explained that he was still too anxious and was unable to examine him. She recommended I bring him back another day while on anxiety medication. A receptionist calls me over and CHARGES me for a visit. I asked how this could possibly be considered a visit when the vet herself told me that she couldn’t work with my dog in his current state. The receptionist went into the back & returned stating that the vet did a full physical. Again, FALSE. The vet nor the manager even bothered to come out to explain. I began to cry due to the fact that I wasted my time driving all the way to this location from Queens and put my dog through this torture & then was charged for it. Insane. I wrote a complaint on Banfield website, trying to speak to someone at corporate. I expressed essentially what I’m sharing in this review. No call from corporate and I have been sent straight to collections. All without any attempt at conflict resolution. Where is management? Please know that never share such negative reviews, however, this company clearly could care less about their clients and pets.

I am dissatisfied with the overall service; Especially at the front desk. The receptionist, Barbara is unprofessional and has a horrible attitude. If you're working at the front desk, you MUST exhibit customer service. The “hospital” is only interested in selling you on a wellness package. To top it off, my dog got fleas after their visit. I am BEYOND furious because of this! I’ve never gone to a pet hospital where my dog has gotten fleas! That is the difference between taking a pet to an in-and-out hospital at a pet store.

Agree with nicolette. Staff there are extremely nice but despite paying 60 a month for optimum wellness it took 2 weeks to get in for a wound check. That is fine, was not serious. But what has put me over the edge, has just taken me 8 phone calls to get heartguard approved! I just had to 3way Chewy and NHP banfield to finally get the verbal approval completed due to Banfields negligence. My dog has no medsand i wasted atleast 2 hours total on hold between both vendors..Also, reading other reviews below. My pet was also not seen for the wound check at 330, despite being dropped off at 9AM,In theory a great service with Optimum plan, but unfortunately I AM NOT GETTING what i paid for.

Wonderful experience at Banfield Pet Hospital for my little pup 🐶 Betsy is so friendly and helpful it's a pleasure speaking to her whenever I call, Blake provided us with all the info needed for choosing the best wellness coverage for our little guy and was extremely helpful during the entire process, Dr. Kim was so sweet to out little boy and answered all the questions we had, we hope to see her again next time when we go back for the vaccines. Banfield is located on Marcus Ave in New Hyde Park. Thank you for being so good to our little guy.

Nobody ever called to apologize or reschedule. Need i say more.Update (July 15th) Nobody has ever contacted me from Banfield to apologize.

Dr. Israel was extremely competent, gentle and thorough in examining my cat Jasper. The staff was kind and patient with me and him through our visit. When I got very upset, I was kindly offered a comforting hug, which I accepted. Also, all procedures and their costs were discussed with me prior to executing them. This staff and doctor made a frightening experience for me and Jasper bearable and for that, I am grateful.

Ok, FULL DISCLOSURE, I hate cats. I think they're mean, self-centered and downright rude. That said a few months ago a stray made me her mark, I felt sorry for her and let her in to my home. Now, I have 7 of them, 6 from this very promiscuous Momma cat. Banfield really made me feel at ease for their care though. Got the momma and the oldest kittens spayed and neutered. Everyone else had their shots. THANK GOD! A bit pricey but well worth the professional care and peace of mind.I need a dog. A big, Mastiff looking, cat eating, male dog. I'll trade all 7 of these attitude fur balls and even throw in there bowls.

I was there 3days ago and the very tall lady at the front desk is a bit much she is loud and over talks you. Her energy is alot. I know she means well and is a animal lover but it's alot. Another lady stepped in to assist very nice pleasant and patient I think her name was Maria.

They wouldn’t rectify the situation and charged me for flea medication that I told them I didn’t want. I called to speak to the doctor and he didn’t return my call. I asked for them to take an X-ray of my cat because she limps and they didn’t do them as the doctor didn’t find it necessary but didn’t tell me until I called and ask for the results
