Was in town for work. I was healing up from a broken ankle/leg. I'd been having a tough time finding a pair of work boots I could get on due to swelling that were comfortable. From the time I walked in the door, the people working here were extremely helpful. They knew their product well and brought me several pair of boots that all worked, I ultimately bought some lace-up Irish setters. They are extremely comfortable. Would recommend this place to anyone.

I went here looking for a pair of boots after ankle surgery. I had previously looked at some bigger box stores with no luck. The experience here was great the moment I walked through the door until I walked out in a new pair of boots. Finding a pair had been very difficult do to my left foot being so swollen and not having much movement in my ankle do to the surgery from months ago. The two ladies and the gentleman that were here today were very patient and helpful in locating the perfect pair of boots. I highly recommend this location.

You want terrific work boots? Come here and give them a try. I work in Redwings, and I can buy them here as seconds -- which just means they have a scuff mark perhaps, the same scuff mark I would have at the end of the first day anyway. Their selection is huge, and American-made products are available and labeled. This is a working man and woman's shoe and boot store. If you want rugged, this is the place to go.They have athletic shoes too. And thy have the toughest shoe laces in the world, bar none.

I had been searching for a high quality leather belt, and Melfe’s Shoes in Ilion came to mind. I did not want to purchase anything from a big box store, as I would much rather shop at a locally owned small business.At first, they were unable to meet the specifications of what I was looking to purchase, but upon further inspection, Steve Grabski, the owner, found the perfect color of leather I was looking for. He even took the time to give me a call back after he came across my desirable color of leather, to make sure I was taken care of! Upon arrival, Steve had an assortment of belts with different buckles for me to choose from and try on. He was well prepared, and even explained the process of how he makes these hand crafted belts. I purchased a light brown vegetable tanned bull hide leather belt, with a solid brass buckle. It fits perfectly.Thank you Steve, for demonstrating an exceptional level of customer service to me, even if it is something as simple as a belt!If anyone is in the market to purchase a quality leather belt, or a pair of work boots, look no further than Melfe’s Shoes in Ilion!Thank you again, I will be back!
