Everything about the visit was great. Everyone was so kind and friendly to my puppy and me. Spent more than 30 minutes answering questions and talking about how to best care for my puppy. I didn’t feel rushed, they didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need or want. The vet was so knowledgeable-she spent 5 minutes with my dog and knew exactly what kind of mixed breed she was (she listed the top 4 in her DNA results before I even mentioned them!). They gave me lots of great advice about behavioral needs and physical health. I was very happy with the visit. We have definitely found our new vet!

Brought my dog here for her first visit, and I am blown away by the kindness, patience, and understanding of all the staff.My dog had a negative experience at her previous vet, so I wanted to try a new place closer to our home. Dr. Jennie Rubenstein and her staff Sahara and Kevin were fantastic. They understood my dog's fear, gave her a ton of treats and praise, and didn't push or force anything. They also provide "happy visit" as an opportunity to bring the dog in to help them associate the space with positive interactions.I could not be happier that I switched to Jockey Hollow!EDIT: Wanted to update my original review now that my dog has had her annual exam AND a small procedure done here. Dr. Rubenstein is so calm and understanding of fearful dogs. For my dog's procedure, they encouraged me to stay with her while she got sedated, and come back to sit with her while she was waking up, to ensure my pup had a better experience. Overall, I can't say enough good things about the staff and practice here!

What’s there to say! The staff are just amazing! My new rescue loves everyone there and they treat her with such care. We did our dog classes downstairs and just worked out perfectly. Last year she got very sick and Jockey Hollow took great care of her. Over the years I’ve been to a few Vet. Practice’s with my dogs, but I find J.H. Does an amazing job. They follow up on all visits with calls and text messages , very thorough. To the entire staff! “Thank You”!!!!

Dr. Jenny Rubenstein and her team at Jockey Hollow are wonderful. My dog is terrified of vets (all vets) so he is really a challenge, but they still always show him the BEST care and attention while being very understanding and gentle with him. He is also on daily seizure medication and they are always on the ball when it comes to being in touch with the pharmacist and making sure he always gets his meds. Thank you!!

Took my newly adopted cat Rosie to Jockey Hollow for her first check up. Couldn’t have had a more pleasant and welcoming first experience! The staff was friendly and helpful, they even helped clean up Rosie after she had an accident in her carrier. Dr. Rubenstein was very thorough in the examination and incredibly easy to talk with while the check up was going on. What meant the most to me was receiving a follow up text the next day to see how Rosie was doing and if I had any questions after she had to get some shots. I know Rosie is in great care every time I bring her

Dr. Rubenstein and her staff provided clear succinct answers to ALL of our questions including additional support information for each topic addressed. Given our (45) years of experience owning Wire Fox Terriers, our new pup Lily is in loving, competent hands as all of our former fury family members previously treated by Dr. Rubenstein when she practiced in NJ. Having used and decided not to continue seeking the services of local vets, we decided for our new pup Lily, to make the (1) hour drive from our home in NJ to the Jockey Hollow Veterinary Hospital in New Milford NY. Is a (1) hour drive too much to ask for when a fury family member needs veterinary care? The answer is no.

It's very rare to find an independently owned hospital these days. Dr. Rubenstein and her support staff are the best. They don't cut any corners when it comes to taking a history, offering diagnostics, or explaining potential treatment plans. Takes excellent care of my medically complex cat and my pet rats.

These guys are absolutely awesome! I have been going to them for years and they clearly really care about the pets they treat. Yesterday, they came over and managed to get my very sweet but skittish cat into the bathroom for a routine check-up, when I myself couldn't manage to get her into a room before our appointment (go Tim and Dr. Jennie)! Every person on the staff has always been great with both of our cats. Some people on here have said that they're expensive. I don't think they are, compared to other good vets, but even if they were I'd gladly pay a little extra for their exceptional service. I would recommend them to anyone!

Jockey Hollow is wonderful. Doctor Jennie Rubenstein is such a great, caring vet and her staff, like Doc Jen, is empathetic and compassionate. My ancient little Maltese Loki recently developed digestive issues and Doc Jen quickly diagnosed the problem, explained what was going on clearly, and prescribed meds and an altered diet. She even called me the next day to make sure all was well. We've used her for our three dogs for over 20 years and she never disappoints. She is, quite simply, the best vet ever!

They are so helpful! I haven't had pets in 8 years since I moved to NY. But recently I have been bringing my new puppy to them. They are so thorough with exam and follow up. Great at explaining vaccines and medications and they even have online support. And I love their approach to distancing for Covid, car side service! Great Vet.

Edited to add: I really liked this practice the first few years of bringing my beloved pets here, however, the quality and professionalism really goes down hill if you don't frequent this establishment often. I've had many negative experiences as of late, not just the denial of flea medication even though your receptionist told me put the order in, "just to see what happens." My 1-star rating still stands. Let me know if you'd like me to edited this review again to spell out the rest of my negative experiences publicly for all to see. Hope this helps, too.

Our dog was due for annual visit , but was showing much discomfort with her ears . I called to make appointment and they had me bring her right over . I spoke with Adam on the phone about my dog. As requested, I had my previous vet fax over his medical records. I called twice after Jockey Hollow received the medical records and was twice promised a call back. The personnel at Jockey Hollow had neither the common courtesy nor professionalism to return my calls. I would have appreciated a call even if it was to turn down my dog as a client.

Both my Bearded Dragons come here when there's an issue. Fully confident in the care, knowledge, and treatment of my babies! My big guy Elliot needed a tail amputation due to a stuck shed: my little buddies doing better than ever! Pricing is more than fair, but the big sell to me is 100% the dedication and care shown here. The staff is probably the MOST personable and caring I've seen at any vet. I work at a pet store, so not only do I recommend to my friends but also my customers! I've never once left worried about the well-being of my little ones! Thanks to everybody for outstanding incredible care and work! <3
