After the loss of my dog the previous year, I decided I was ready to bring a new family member into the home. We went through the application process and were told we were approved. We had a volunteer bring 2 greyhounds for a visit and we absolutely fell in love with one of them. She allowed us to spend part of the day with him and we really bonded. She asked if we wanted to keep him that day and we said we needed one week to get ready. She told us what a good match he was for us! The week leading up to adoption day we purchased a dog bed, food, leashes and even put a $300 deposit on a used vehicle simply to have something big enough to bring him to the dog park! Two days prior to pick up I received a text message that they decided not to adopt to us.(I have no idea why) I was told the person who runs the organization would let me know the reason. I never heard from her. I have 20lbs of non-refundable dog food and I'm out $300 for a car I don't need anymore. After losing my beloved dog last year, this was not a good experience.

They continuously post “available” dogs and then do not reply to emails or calls. Finally had someone call me for an “interview” and said she would check references. My reference was super enthusiastic yet Martha, was inexplicably hesitant and most definitely not enthusiastic. Then suddenly I received a refund for my application fee with a note that they could not find me a match. Really bizarre. Guess they have a high class problem of way more adopters than dogs.

I had a wonderful experience adopting from this group. I was turned down by a couple other groups, actually the other greyhound rescue groups I applied too (didn't even speak to me) just turned me down. Forever home greyhound took the time to process my application and interview me. I traveled to one of their meet and greets with my current dog pack to see if it would work. They placed the perfect match with me. I am so happy and thankful! Looking forward to adopting a second greyhound from this group.

I adopted from FHGA 2 years ago. They're a great group who obviously care about the homes their greyhounds go to. I got all the help and support I needed throughout the adoption process. Just a wonderful group of people overall.

I'm rating three star because I've never actually been to this business but I do know it's in the wrong location on Google maps it's farther up the road it's odd. I'm pretty sure this actual marker is on private property.
