We had a fantastic sunset kayak trip on Lake Erie with Mike as our guide. He was instructive, helpful, and encouraging. We had to hustle to be able to see all the cool things he wanted to show us before sundown, but I’m sure he would be able to adapt the agenda if you needed something more chill.We will definitely do this again when we come back to the area!

I was so happy with our experience renting a canoe from Evergreen Outfitters! Before we even came on our trip I rented through the website, which was very easy to use. Then the owner very nicely followed up an email I had with additional questions. The employees in the store were So kind and helpful! The main gentlemen who helped us was awesome. He explained everything, gave us extra tips about places on the lake and showed us how to put the canoe on our vehicle. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to rent kayaks or canoes! I want to mention the store was cool too if you need any accessories for kayaking! If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely come back!

I had friends coming to town in the fall and was happy to find a place that still had kayak rentals available after the summer season. Even better, it was a seamless, easy experience, from being able to book equipment online, completing waivers electronically, and super helpful and nice staff on site. We enjoyed a great morning on the lake.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff helped us get started at the waters edge (across a highway from the shop) and gave us some helpful tips for success. When we were done, they met us and made sure we knew what to do with the boats and other gear.I would have preferred a lake with more natural shoreline and less development all around it, but that's not something Evergreen Outfitters can control! They did everything in their power to make sure we were satisfied customers.

Rented a kayak here in Mayville on July 4th! These guys were GREAT! Simple over the phone registration. Got there and I was all set. They carried my kayak across the road to the launch on Chautauqua lake. I was a little late too and no additional fees. Very nice people. I'd rent here again!

Your only stop in Western New York for anything related to kayaking. Mike the owner is passionate regarding setting folks up to have safe outings on the water. Rentals, lessons, outings, sales and repairs. Their repair technician specializes on repairing plastic, fiberglass and Kevlar kayaks and canoes and also repair gel coat finishes.

My wife and I are experienced kayakers and were asked to take some novice paddlers out on Chautauqua Lake. We found Evergreen in Mayville and were delighted with the quality and variety of rentals available. Barbara made sure that everyone was properly outfitted. The prices were inclusive and quite reasonable. Highly recommend these folks and their gear. Be sure to say hi to the shop dogs as well!

The guys at Evergreen were fantastic. We rented two tandem kayaks, they set us up with everything we needed and helped get our boats in the water. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for a peaceful day out on Chautauqua Lake :)

Quite a big store with a large separate area for rental boats. Very nice people, nice conditioned boats and equipment. The whole place is very organized and clean. I almost feel their focus is not to make money, but to serve customers. A model business, what else I could say.

Second year with this store. Great service and rentals. Not sure why other people give good written reviews and only 4 stars. Are they holding the 5th star for a special occasion? Called up, got a price on kayak and paddle board rental for 5 days...showed up, paid, the young men loaded the 2 rentals...and I was on the water with my kids in 30 minutes. What else can you ask for? Other than getting the rental for free, not sure what more service I could have gotten. Only place to rent in town.

One of the best experiences I have had with Kayak training. The instructors were extremely patient and encourage you to ask more questions.I took the basic Kayak maneuvering and rescue training class. 10/10 would recommend this to someone who is looking to take up Kayaking as a sport.

Great outdoors shop in Mayville right across the street from the lake. Their main focus is kayak and paddle board sales but they also have rentals. Great customer service and knowledgeable staff. The owner Mike will definitely help you find exactly the boat you want and that fits you!

After years of paddling on Chautauqua Lake, I finally ventured onto Lake Erie with the help of the folks from Evergreen. They corrected my self-taught but almost hard-wired form problems, and showed great patience as I gained confidence in new conditions. Taking note of my “old faithful” paddle, they let me try 2 models actually made in this century. I’ll be stopping in soon to finally replace it!
