Love this place, Jim has everything you will need for a fishing trip priced extremely reasonably. The live baits are always lively and healthy. Jim keeps his shop very well stocked and rarely sells out of products unlike many of the big box stores nearby. If you aren’t sure of exactly what you need Jim is extremely knowledgeable of fishing the area, and will set you up with exactly what you need to catch fish.

Jim's bait shop has been around since I was a child. If you love fishing this is the shop to check out for when you enter the Adirondacks. Not only do they have a wide variety of bait and tackle options to choose from, but they also had expert advice on what to use for specific types of fish and water conditions. Jim's shop is the kind of place that you just feel good when you walk inside. He has everything that you need for every fishing need. I always get my minnows and spikes here. Jim is authentic, sincere and down to earth....and he's a excellent fisherman also. He is a true expert at his craft.

Jim was on vacation when I stopped by, but Joe was there to help us find all of our bait needs. Not only was the store filled with such an immaculate supply of bait and tackle to rival a bass pro shop but Joe was very knowledgeable in both the supplies we needed aswell as sending us to a great fishing spot

I paid for bait while waiting for the person in front of me to receive his. Jim’s son proceeded to get my bait and I exited the store. He ran out behind me and yelled “Hey! Are you gonna pay for that?” Across the parking lot. I was highly irate at the accusation. I told him maybe he should check with his his cashier (young girl) before calling me a thief. He never even apologized he just turned around and went back inside. I will never patronize their store again. Jim is a nice guy but his son has some obvious character flaws and his manners and common sense are nowhere to be found. Buyer beware

The BEST tackle store I have EVER been to!! Its one of those of rare finds that you really don't want to tell your buddies about so they don't buy everything up on you lol. If you need it or even want it, you'll find it at Jim's!!! I just found my new favorite fishing store!!! Awesome staff, awesome prices, awesome inventory!

Been going here for years and years. 5+ rating no doubt. Jim is a genuine and humble guy that has everything and more anyone could ever want in regards to a bait shop. Opens super early and honestly would open for you no matter what time as long as you called him prior. Whether you need bait or just to shoot the breeze Jim's is great.

When I was a kid just starting fishing coming here was like a rare gift. I never wanted to leave, on one occasion I was watching the British and looking at soft plastics I didn't realize that my dad had left and I was pretty small at the time he got back and picked me up. I didn't even know he was gone and I was genuinely happy I had more time in the store. Wonderful place some of the best lures I have ever seen and the nicest people I have ever met. I highly suggest this place if you're just starting or if you've been fishing you're entire life.

We moved up state 17 years ago and my son Freddie always says Jim's Bate shop is a part of his childhood a favorite part ...he grew up with Jim and what an incredible kind and all around good guy he is...we went today again and talked about special funny moments we've had through the years and I always leave feeling like I visited a family member...♥️ I feel like Jim's is a right of passage for every young fisherman or fisher woman... like if you're really from here then you know Jim and all his awesomeness ! Looking so forward to the fishing contest Saturday June 19 and wish everyone the best !

Jim & company rule. The dog Steve is the coolest dog ever and will just come up and want to be pet. These guys will go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied. All fair prices and best bait around.

Pure fishing shop. Not an “outdoor sports” where you find racks of rifles, and a small corner with some bobbers and a couple of hooks. Jim sent this out-of-towner to good publicly accessible local spots. Always welcoming, willing to talk. Can’t wait to head back.

Best bait store period... I'll I'll add more to my review. The selection of lures and bait and alll kinds of tackle is truly amazing..we got their 5 am rang the bell and he was out side in 2 mins. There's isn't many stores like this anymore. So take advantage of it. SHOP LOCAL!
