While The Village Cheese Shop has some really nice cheese, with the exception of 2-3 local NY cheeses, every other cheese was imported and those cheeses were from Europe. I truly enjoy European cheese, but the North Fork, upstate, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding states have some amazing cheese which I was hoping that I would find at this store. It's a small store and there were 10+ people when we visited. Nice store, but we were also essentially ignored until I discovered there were no local cheeses and decided to leave at which point they tried to engage us. I'm sure that you will enjoy this store if you're looking for nice imported cheeses from Europe, but I would check out the farms and farmstands if you're searching for local cheese.

Wonderful shop! Curated lovely gift baskets and handled all of the shipping details seamlessly…top it off with a fondue treat for yourself and it’s a perfect way to manage your holiday gift giving. My favorite cheese shop on the island! The staff members are very knowledgable about the cheeses they offer, which is extremely important. The labels on the cheeses have a lot of great information about what region they come from, the tasting notes, and what type of animal milk they are made from. Each time I stop in I try different cheeses. Lemon ricotta and Whitney are my favorites!

A delightful little shop that we visited during vacation. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable about their products, and we actual had a fun time talking to them. This shop carries a plethora of spices, cheeses, jams, and kitchen goods. It was a highlight from our trip and we are grateful for the lovely energy of the people working there.

We stopped at this amazing little French place and thoroughly enjoyed sharing a delicious cheese platter on the very quaint “Love Lane”. The wine, the jam, the olives - every bit of it was a slice of post-COVID heavenly charm. Delicious, friendly and relaxing. Highly recommend - and we WILL be back!!

This was a really cute place. It had really good food even if you’re not specifically a ‘cheese person.’ They have sandwiches and desserts as well as a cheese plate. Super cute and great food.

Always a great stop. Excellent variety of exceptional flavors from around the world. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful when trying new and exciting cheeses. Be adventurous and steer away from the usual, you'll be surprised what's out there. Start with the begets they go fast, take your time and ask for suggestions.

Love it! I have been coming here for at least 5 years. They have a good variety of cheeses, staff is helpful and knowledgeable. I wish it was closer to me. I have to drive 1 hr or more to get here so it is usually a visit when I'm heading to the wineries. Would recommend stopping here before heading out to the vineyards for good cheese and, breads and spreads. I find here the appenzeller cheese which you can't get at supermarkets. Other variations to cheese that are not found in stores, too.

Was back in LI for a wedding and had catering for a small afternoon reception event fall through. The staff at the Village Cheese Shop went above and beyond to help us out the same day and put together a lovely set of cheese and bread platters. The staff was exceptionally kind and generous about the situation, can't recommend enough. Thanks to The Village Cheese Shop for helping save the day!

I live in south Florida and wanted to send something nice to my grandma for her birthday. I worked with Raven over the phone and she was amazing. A charcuterie platter, sweets, and wine were delivered on time and was fairly priced. I am very pleased with my experience! I can’t wait to be able to visit in person. We pop in when in the area. Saturday evening we stopped in with our son and his wife. Paige, the owner was not there at the time and a young guy made our cheese plates. We like different/unusual stuff and left it up to him. The three flights we had were great, bought one cheese to take home and had a good time. Impressed with how knowledgeable the guy was, looked like he could have been in high school even. That's not a slight but a compliment to how much he knew.We like to support small business owners and highly recommend a visit here. Paige is always very pleasant and helpful. Great little place!

What can I say, this is a lovely shop that has a great selection of cheeses. Also they have some great local honey and also have iberico ham!You can make the charcuterie or cheese board of your dreams with items from this shop.If you are lucky, you can also grab a rugelach if they have some available.We try to stop in every time we are in Mattituck.

Bring your charge card because yummy cheese ain't cheap! That aside...we literally drive 45 mins to visit this adorable little place a few times a year. A friend and I fell in love with a few cheese that we sampled while we were visiting Martha Clara's. Turns out it came from a little shop just down the road a piece...The Village Cheese Shop. Workers are all very nice, very patient, and extremely courteous.

This is one of my favorite places to visit while stopping at a few vineyards. The staff is so attentive and very knowledgeable about their products. My favorite is the Triple Whipped Brie. Everything is so delicious and always fresh. I would highly recommend a visit.

Such a great place. They always have a huge selection and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. You can get it to go or they can make a plate of whatever you want that will be beautifully presented to you at one of their tables. They also have a great selection of wine. Love this place!

You have to consider this a MUST on your trip to LI. When you arrive to one of the local hamlets, place your order with Michael. His cell phone is on the website along with pictures of many of the offerings.Order the Iberico hams, ask for pairings.Incredible selection of imports available.This is highest end service and quality product at the fairest of prices. Make sure to support these local shoppes that deliver superior experiences.

They made it so easy for me and the staff is so knowledgeable. I walked in knowing just a little of what I wanted. I wanted cheese platter for 4 people, I didnt want any Italian cheese in the grouping,I wanted fun , creative and tasty. Also took a jar of rose jelly n a fig jam ,which i knew. 2 types crackers,2 different french red wines n one baguette.. Done! Wonderful

I’m not someone who normally reviews much. But it would be unjust almost if I didn’t after eating such a GLORIOUS cheese board!!! FOR REAL. I am typing in capital letters because that’s how much I mean it. Our friend sent us a board from here today and I’ll Brie honest, this is some of the best cheese I’ve ever had. Seriously, go order yourself a board and have a blast. Great job y’all!!!! I am a fan!

Have fun with cheese! Staff knows cheese like a sommelier knows wine. You can sample and get the low-down on the cheeses you are buying. Wish I had known that you can do lunch there so as not to waste my money on the other over hyped restaurant across the street. The Cheese shop is a must do on the North Fork, and they ship if you can't make it there. Can't wait til I'm there again!

Service was a little slow, but there was a great reason. The cheese monger was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He gave us samples and let us take our time to choose. I would highly recommend stopping in and getting an education and some cheese.

Every trip out to the North Fork includes a stop at the Village Cheese shop. Yes, I could buy closer to home but the selection, cuteness and staff are unmatched.
