I read these reviews and it's just sad. We need more people to donate and more businesses to sponsor this facility. If our Humane Society had more support from our community, prices wouldn't be so high. It's suffering. Car wash at the fire station, donation boxes at stores, people volunteering, local businesses sponsoring benefits, our local schools holding bake sales instead of "fund raisers" for Yankee Candle or Little Caesars. Anything to help.

235 dollars for a shelter dog is steep. And then you have to fix them. Which for older dogs (2 to 3 years) like the one we got costs a lot. Yes we payed the price, and she was worth every penny. But it's ridiculous when you can adopt a similar dog for 80 dollars elsewhere that's already fixed for you.

Very very smelly. Urine and feces inside and outside of the kennels at the close of the day. The dogs didn't have water and the prices to adopt have doubled.$400 and up for a dog.It's too bad because I would have taken home two beautiful fur babies if I could have paid $400 for both.

Adopted a very healthy and happy kitten last month, everyone was so nice. The process was easy and they make sure you have everything you need when you bring your little furball home! Highly recommend.

This is the second time we have adopted rescue kittens from them. They are very helpful and very caring. It is a wonderful place to adopt an animal. You can't go wrong. They take excellent care of all the animals.

My grandson took his cat to the humane society. They refused to take it.. They said they do not take owned pets. The owner has to rehome the pet. My question is, What are they here for?

Family member brought in a Injured cat and you people state it'll cost $45 just to tell him what can be done?! Then on top of that after 3 days if nobody claims it you'll kill it?! If that cat dies I will be calling the head of your organization and having your facility closed. its Orange and White and got hit by a car and you people wont even give it Antibiotics or A sedative to ease its pain? Shame on you

I reached out via email to adopt a dog at this shelter, got 1 response within a few hours, and when I told them more about myself (age, location, etc) they no longer responded. I followed up specifically to ask for more information and if my application had been accepted so I could pass the info along to a therapist I'm working with to treat my depression and there was no response again.I had made it very clear in my emails to please let me know either way because I had stopped looking for other animals specifically because I believed this dog would be a perfect match.After over a week of additional waiting and no responses, I looked up the information to call/follow up AGAIN only to find that the dog had been adopted and that is apparently why they could not be bothered to respond. I find it very hard to believe they have much respect for the animals they're working with if they don't even have enough decency to respond to the actual people reaching out to save them. An email simply letting me know I was not eligible OR the that the dog was adopted would have taken under 1 minute.EDIT: After many non-responses, they responded to my final email expressing disappointment within 45 minutes - it was nice to get a response, but it just further points to how little care was given to the long emails I'd sent before that I have to assume were read and ignored. A public rating was the only thing that got attention.

Long drive from home, but very clean and friendly. The cat we got was healthy and beautiful. A nice addition to my grandson's family, well worth the trip!😁

I have been here several times and the place is always clean but they do NOT respond to emails thru pet finder I'm a disabled veteran looking for a dog to take everywhere with me and they just don't respond to emails

Friendly place. They dont interrogate you like they do at Potsdam humane society. They need more funding for a bigger place.
