I have been working with Massapequa Pet Vet since 2015 where they have treated my cat and all 5 of my Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Ned Horowitz and his team have never failed to be compassionate, collaborative and professional whether dealing with allergies, vaccines and titers, bladder issues (cat), wellness exams, gatric issues and referrals to specialists for internal medicine, ACL tears and mitral valve disease. They got Cato through a critcal stage of congestive heart failure and saved him for us so that he could be treated and live another happy 3 months. When we lost Cato and Tiger at home they helped us with final arrangements with the utmost compassion for which i will always be grateful. When we brought home our latest Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy we did not hesitate to have him seen by Ned, Dr Shivers and Dr Amin for all of his puppy wellness visits. Danger and Tayter are always happy to visit the clinic. I recommend Ned and his team unreservedly.

We had an excellent vet thoroughly look over my 13 year old Golden Retriever, Savannah. He was gentle as was the staff. They gave us all our options and validated our feelings. They took good care of Savannah and treated her with a genuine kindness and care for her. He also consulted another vet about my dog which made me feel more confident. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Took my guinea pigs to do a check up with Dr Horowitz. All staffs are so friendly, patient and welcoming. Dr. Horowitz explained everything in detail and give valuable suggestion for all my questions/concerns. Would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for awesome exotic vet in NY. Price is also reasonable compare to the only exotic vet office in the city (some of my friends have horrible experience in the city and just FYI better avoid that place). I would continue coming here even though it takes me an hour drive.

Found this place online after doing some research. Took my Son African Pygmy Male Hedgehog 🦔 here for his 30 day wellness check up. The place was clean, spacious, and bright. 😍😍😍 The staff was friendly, and polite. The whole process was smooth (since it was our first visit) literally was in and out in about an hour. The vet that did the examine was kind, and knowledgeable as well. I highly recommend this place if you own any exotic pet(s). 🙂

My family have been clients of Dr. Ned Horowitz for over 40 years. We have followed him to different practices & have never left Massapequa Pet Vet once he opened it. Everyone at Massapequa Pet Vet is ALWAYS so friendly. You are greeted as soon as you walk in the door and are assisted as soon as a CSR is available. All of the LVT's and Veterinary Assistants are always so wonderful with our pets in the rooms when getting histories, vitals and assisting the Veterinarians. I have never met a Vet there that I did not like. They call the next day to see how your pet is doing after their visit the day prior and call within a decent amount of time to go over any lab results. I would recommend Massapequa Pet Vet to anyone looking for a Veterinary practice that makes you & your furbabies feel like you are at home. ♥️

Could not have had a better experinece. The staff from the front desk to the techs and the vet made for a very welcoming and calming enviorment. They listened to everything I said and expressed and made me feel like i was being listened to. They were dedicated to adressing all of my questions and concerns, and above all were friendly and kind. This was my first visit here after switching vets and I would recommend them to anyone.

Been taking both my dogs here for several years. They've been great with keeping records up to date with my many back and forth out of state moves. The doctors and assistants are always so helpful and friendly, they keep my very anxious dogs at ease during their exams.

I can't speak for how the vet is, as I learned how the manager seems to berate the staff. Would you have your beloved pet treated somewhere where the staff was being visibly treated poorly? A friend of mine also worked here and had a horrible experience. Again, this does not mean the vet is not good at what they do. I can't speak to that as I did not even consider giving them my business. Yet, when a staff is not treated well, that is not somewhere I would trust to treat my pets. I went elsewhere before even giving this place my business. I merely write this as something to consider. There are many other vets. Better vets.

We moved to the area around 1 1/2 years ago and needed a vet close by. Originally we went to VCA on Montauk Ave but that will be a review for another day (yuck). Our baby was scratching her ears so we called the previous place and they wouldn’t see our baby till Monday. No way could I let her suffer 5 days. My wife found a place even closer with great reviews called Petvet. We explained our situation and even though they were booked they squeezed us in. Turns out she had a double ear infection. Dr. Shivers took care of her and I have to say we found the most amazing Vet location and the most incredible doctor also it didn’t hurt that the staff was awesome. Dr. Shivers took care of our baby and explained everything that would be done. We are so happy to have found this vet. We are happy once again to have a Doctor that cares.

If I could give this place and its staff 6 stars I would. A little less than a month ago I brought my sweet bunny girl, Guinness, for a routine spay procedure with Dr. Fiore. Unfortunately, rabbits can be very tricky with anesthesia, and when they tried to bring Guinness off of the anesthesia, she went into cardiac arrest. They were able to get her heart going again with CPR and Dopamine, however she was still in rough shape. I went to Pet Vet a few hours later, where I had to decide if I wanted to bring my baby home with me, or send her home with Avery, a vet technician, who I felt was much more equipped to care for Guinness than I was. Although they closed at 7pm, the staff let me stay until around 8pm while I made the tough decision. I ended up sending her home with Avery, who promised to call me every 2 hours with updates starting at 11pm. Unfortunately, around 10:30pm, Avery called me to let me know that Guinness had re-arrested and that although she had performed CPR on her, her heart had slowly stopped. It was extremely hard to deal with, especially since Guinness’ breed (Netherland Dwarf) has a life span of around 7-10 years and I only had 9 months with her. However, I’d like to thank everyone at Massapequa Pet Vet for being SO kind and supportive. Avery was absolutely fantastic, as was Dr. Fiore, who took the time to speak with me on the phone even days after Guinness had passed. Even the front desk staff were so comforting and compassionate. In addition, I received a sympathy card today filled with little messages from the staff. I really appreciate it more than they know, and I will definitely be returning to Pet Vet with any and all future buns. 🖤🐾🐰

Dr Horowitz and his staff are amazing. Prior to going there we took our pets to Banfield. I never felt connected to the staff there and felt like just another customer. With PetVet, I feel my Angel is in safe hands. He is in ongoing care for his allergies, and I rely on their expertise any time he has flare ups. They give me timely appointments and always handle with him with love when we go in. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank you team!

I will start with have never been to this office. We moved to the area not long ago and hadn’t found an emergency office or a vet close by to our house. Yesterday we had a serious emergency. I called the office out of desperation my 15 year old yorkie was foaming from her mouth could not stand up I didnt know if she was having a seizure or choking on something. Time is precious in these kinds of moments. The woman who answered the phone could not have cared less. Told me basically the doctors are about to leave not sure what you want me to do. I was hysterical crying. It was like pulling teeth asking her where the closest emergency hospital is and her exact answer was “next to Adventureland” I’m sorry but sometimes there are unforeseen circumstances that call for a bit of a later stay at the office. My dog was in fact choking and they possibly could have saved her faster than me driving and googling names of nearest emergency hospitals. This was a vet we were considering unfortunately I will never come here as they made me feel my animals life wasn’t as important as getting out at the exact time the office closed.Since I cannot respond to your response I will Do it here. Clearly you’re not understanding how blatantly careless your staff is. The woman on the phone was bothered by my emergency. I did not call you an 24 hour emergency hospital it was 5pm when I called you don’t close till 6 your website said. I’m sorry but your response doesn’t seem so sincere either. As a business owner myself I would not call this the “best interest” Your staff member barely sent me elsewhere she gave me unclear direction to go to the place next to Adventureland. You may be better off not responding to every review unfortunately I dont see any right in your response.

I have a 17 and a half year old Maltipoo named Lilly. We have been going to Massapequa Pet Vet for several years. I have ALWAYS received exceptional care from both the Doctors and the Staff.My latest encounter with Massapequa Pet Vet (last week) was the best yet. Without going into too much detail about Lilly’s problem, I made an appointment for a Vet Tech Visit to take care of some things she needed to have done.I spoke with Stephanie in particular the day I made the appointment. Judging from some of the information I was giving to Stephanie, she advised me I should come in earlier in the week versus the end of the week just to “be safe”.Thank goodness for Stephanie’s knowledge and quick thinking because she literally saved my dogs life.Lilly was having a problem that required Dr. Horowitz to stop what he was doing and see Lilly as an emergency. She had something going on that could have been life-threatening if it wasn’t taken care of right away.This was the first time I met Dr. Horowitz. I have seen the other excellent doctors in the practice in the past. Dr. Horowitz is an amazing Doctor and knew what was going on with Lilly immediately. I cannot thank him enough for stopping what he was doing to tend to my dog.I am a healthcare practitioner and I know how it is to have an emergency come in and throw off your whole schedule. Dr. Horowitz was kind, quick in his diagnosis, and spoke to me about the reality of what could’ve happened and what could happen in an HONEST and GENTLE manner.I am happy to say that she’s been on antibiotics and she’s doing very well.Thank you to Dr. Horowitz and Stephanie and the ENTIRE STAFF at Massapequa Pet Vet for saving my dogs life!I am forever grateful and if I could give you a million stars, I would!!!Sincerely,Dina Parolisi

I spent a lot of time researching the best options for an experience and knowledgeable bulldog veterinarian. Dr. Horowitz and his staff are one of the top pet vets in the tri-state area. They bend over backwards if it's an emergency appointment, they're always responsive to messages and requests, but most importantly the way they treat my pup makes a trip to the vet more like a trip to the dog park. I highly recommend Massapequa pet vet whether it's speaking to administrators, or the doctors, it's always a pleasant experience especially if it's a difficult time for you and your pet.

Dr Horowitz and his entire staff are excellent. They put my puppy and I at ease right away and he was given a thorough exam. I appreciated that they called me the next day to follow up on how my puppy Jack was feeling.The only negative comment I could make is that they need to hire more Veterinarians. I requested an appointment with Dr Horowitz to have Jack neutered and I have to wait 4 months. The doctors and staff are so caring it will certainly be worth the wait!

Honestly, PetVet is a staple to the south shore community. They're always professional when helping me and my family. From the helpful reception team and wonderful vet techs all the way to the overly accommodating doctors.In my most recent visit my cat (2y/o) had gotten sick and my boyfriend started to become anxious (as we all do when our furry friends don't feel well) so we called a little bit before 9 and the manager of reception was so understanding and helpful and squeezed us in for an afternoon appointment. When we got there we were quickly checked in by the lovely people at the front desk and then shortly after escorted to a room. There the vet tech and the doctor checked out my buddy, I was honest about how much money i was able to spend that day (as the only down side to PetVet is there's no payment plans) and they were super helpful in making my cat feel better within my budget. They took the time to explain everything from the procedure to his aftercare medications to me (and i mean took the time! lol) but they also gave me really good advice on how to make my cat healthier, and i really appreicated that.I know this is super long but i just think sometimes its easy to notice only the bad things about a doctors appointments because of all the anxiety and stress that surrounds it so i took a month to reflect on it and i really do want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to PetVet.Thank you to Steph, Connor, and Christina from reception you guys are awesome. Thank you to the vet tech that we had that day (i'm so sorry i can't remember your name but you were so sweet and funny!) And a huge Thank You to the incredible Dr. Ginley , Jimmy is doing much better and my boyfriend and I are so grateful.

When I adopted my dog Marley she had a severe skin allergy and chronic dry eyes. Under Massapequa Pet Vet's care, my dog's allergies are under control and her eyes are shining brightly. My other dog Teddy had a cancerous growth removed almost five years ago. Thanks to MPV, she is still here.

Whether it’s a well visit, or a not-so-well visit, he is there every step of the way.The staff works hard to make sure you are taken care of in a timely manner, be it a phone call, or office visit. My dachshund injured her back and the receptionist got me an emergency appt for that same morning. The staff was friendly and compassionate with me and my pup. The vet was knowledgeable and thorough... and she relayed realistic expectations for my pup's recovery.My mother has also been bringing her dachshund here for roughly a year, and has praised this office & these veterinarians for being accommodating, honest and compassionate.

Today I had to take my dog to the vet for a broken nail. We went to” Massapequa Pet Vet”. Firstly Bailey was so helpful when making the appointment she had my mind at ease in a stressful situation. Also The doctor was AMAZING and my dog loved her and all the techs and assistants. But I have to say Heidi at the front desk was SO helpful. A vet visit can be very expensive Heidi went out of her way to help me find an affordable option that wouldn’t clear out my bank account. she was SO helpful and AMAZING, I’ve never dealt with someone with such amazing customer service skills in my life. I hope she gets a raise bc she is an asset to that business. Thank you all for your help it was a great experience and I will for sure be using them as my dogs vet ,permanently. I will also refer everybody to this vet for many reasons. The place is clean and has everything you need from treats to toys even toothbrushes. If i had the option to give them more stars I would. So if anyone is looking for a vet please go to the“Massapequa Pet Vet”and you will walk out feeling at ease knowing your pet is in good Hands.
