While exploring the Masonville area, I came across this little place and decided to stop for lunch. I ordered a Penguin Burger with Fries and my girlfriend ordered a Grilled Cheese. The burger, grilled cheese, and fries were all delicious! The burger tasted extremely fresh, so fresh I would have thought they went out back and got it straight from the cow. The seasoning on it was perfect. The fries were absolutely amazing. Thick, fresh cut fries, the kind I love so much! They were lightly salted, perfection at best. After eating our lunch, the girlfriend talked me into ice cream as well. She ordered the baby peanut butter in a dish (not pictured) and I ordered the baby strawberry banana in a dish. Now here's why I gave Penguin a 4 star rating. Upon getting my ice cream, I was excited! It looked delicious! The girlfriend said hers tasted so good and I definitely enjoyed mine until I hit the half way point of the dish. The strawberry banana flavor was perfect! The ice cream was somewhat stiff and not as creamy as I thought it would be since it was soft serve, no points deducted for that; to me ice cream is good no matter if it's soft or hard lol. Now let's get back to that 4 star and the half way point of my dish, upon hitting the half way point I noticed and tasted something strange with my ice cream. I tasted chocolate, which I'm not a fan of chocolate....I know what you're thinking, what is wrong with me, right? Lol....well I stopped and moved the strawberry banana ice cream to the side to notice there was chocolate and what looked like vanilla in the bottom of my cup. Totally disappointed at this point, I threw away the cup. I didn't finish my ice cream. Upon pulling up the business on Google maps to write my review, I saw someone's review stating how they "love the surprise flavor at the bottom of every cone". I'm sorry, but leave the surprises to birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, and magic tricks. If I order strawberry banana, I expect it to be strawberry banana all the way to the bottom. Bottom line I was really impressed with their food, but the ice cream "surprise", not so much. Will I stop here again? Definitely, but it won't be for ice cream!

Best Ice Creamery around. Super wide variety to choose from. Made to order flavors and toppings. Very reasonably priced. Welcome families, picnic tables over looking scenic meadow and mountain side. Also, Pet friendly with specialty made PUP cups.

The ice cream is life altering! I was looking at property for a client and came across Penquin ice cream. The flavor exploded in my mouth. Super fresh. The cream comes from a dairy down the street. What a great experience. Gwen the owner very accommodating and nice. I will definitely be back to try all 51 flavors and the rest of the menu. Thank you so much for making my day with ice cream!

This has become our new favorite routine when we're heading home from our weekends at our upstate property. The ice cream is amazing and the staff is so friendly and quick! We also just ate dinner there too for the first time and ate some of the best and most fresh tasting burgers we''ve had in a long time. Highly recommended!!

Gwen has brought the taste of ice cream to a whole new level. They will make any flavor of ice cream you can think of, the more imaginary the better. The sundaes are amazing and as original as you want them to be. They also offer a menu, in case you would like to eat your lunch or dinner AFTER your ice cream!! The friendliness of the staff is wonderful. Gwen always greets you with a smile and a warm heart. She eagerly listens to every word each child says, and makes everyone feel special. Their soft ice cream is odd and for lack of a better word not pure. They take bricks of frozen ice cream and using some kind of machine they grind it back into soft serve. But they don't clean the system in between uses. So you get the previous flavor in the bottom of your cone in my case it was coffee. It does make me wonder when the machine is cleaned

I love, love , love the penguin. The employees are friendly and welcoming. if you have a nut allergy make sure you tell them about it to be safe. There are sooo many flavors to pick from that I still have not tried them all. The only reason I put 4 stars is because when you order ice cream sometimes you have the flavor that was orderd from the customer ahead of you at the bottom of your cup or cone. sometimes it's cool and other times ( depending on which flavor they had) it's totally not. But i absolutely LOVE this place and so do my nephews and nieces.deffinatly worth checking out!

Delicious and unique!! The owner is so personable and funny!!! They have every flavor you can imagine and the owner gives suggestions of amazing combinations! It is a spot that we must stop at on our way home from the Rosa Mystica House of Prayer in Edmeston. Keep up the great work!! ❤️🍧❤️

It's rare you go to a place and can't wait to return . A little out of the way place that is a total hidden gem. The owner despite being busy took the time to explain the process of making the icecream yes their flavors are custom made as you order them . And then explained to the young woman helping the procedures she needed to do so my icecream would be gluten free . So that was the process . The 🍨 icecream. Was stop you in your tracks delish!!! This place has the tastiest ice cream in the area, at least that I've tried, and they can make almost any flavor. No, it's not Burst. I'm not sure how they do it. You'll have to ask them.

Guin is a wonderful person who guided us from, The hundreds of flavors available with them. Very nice taste.. In fact they asked us to design and name our own flavor of Ice cream.. I named it MaMa Vanilla ( Mango + Mandarin + Vanilla Base)

Visited here many many times growing up as a kid...was a great treat going for ice cream here with my parents and brothers..even took the dog for a baby cone😀👍💕
