Great hardware store without the crowd and hassle of the big box stores. I'm surprised with what they have, I always check the website before I go and even when "I'm sure they won't have this", they usually do. I see the older comments about customer service and it's improved over the years but I've never had any issues with anyone, never hassled because I had to swap out something because I bought the wrong item, everyone is friendly and approachable.

I've been a customer for many years.Excellent "Customer Service" !, always 2 or more employees asking to help me, w positive upbeat,& friendly personality, and they've been willing to go to the isle/dept. in person (not just tell me).I don't even think abt going to a Competitor.ACE-Spalding has the Most Versatile,Well Stocked, & Current Selections, of Hardware & Everything from A-Z.If you "Can't Find it" you Haven't Been to ACE/Spalding !

They have reasonable prices on a few things but the stock is somewhat lacking. When I visited they weren't able to easily answer my questions or find the items I needed in short order. I would go there again if the need arises but certainly not to browse through the overpriced grill equipment and accessories.

Very nice people that work at the store, second attempt at buying a wheelbarrow. Website says that they have one in stock I went there the first time a month ago and the guy said it came in but he can't find it and he would call me back when he found it. Long story short he never called me. I called back today because it's still showing that it's in stock and they don't have it but will order it. Guess I'm going to Lowe's, I try to stay local but I've already spent over an hour of my life trying to get a wheelbarrow.

Love these people! I didn't realize the time and showed up just before closing with a propane tank for my grill and they filled it with no issues saving, our dinner plans. Always friendly and accomodating.

I really wanted to have a good experience with the store. I was hoping to use more of a local business rather than one of the big boxes. But I spent a fairly substantial amount on a grill and I’ve had nothing but run around. I haven’t gotten calls back when I’ve been told I’ll get them. I haven’t had things delivered when they say they’re going to deliver them, and no one even contacts me. I just got off the phone with them and they basically told me no one could help me for at least one if not two days. I’ve paid for products that haven’t been delivered and no one is willing to help.

5 stars is to little recognition for Spalding/Standish and Joan's ACE Hardware stores. Friendly, Customer is #1, The helpfulness of Staff, But mostly they have %97.0 of what you need to finish your projects.

Called to inquire about a mistake on their end and they were incredibly rude. Sure enough, 60 seconds later, a return call to clarify, they were incorrect. Yet, they were still incredibly rude. Find people to speak to customers on the phone with a little respect. Especially, when the mistake is yours.

If you need it they probably have it. Need 4mm washers? Got 'em. Need hammered-finish spray paint? Got it. Window screen, metric taps, or pipe fittings? Got 'em. I can't remember a time they didn't have what I needed. Nice people staffing the store too. Recommended.

I love this little hardware store. It's not nearly as large as the big box stores but I find they have every odd ball thing I need. For example, today I needed a set screw for a door handle. In the parking lot I realized the handle wasn't tapped. I knew I have a 10-32 tap at home. So that's what I wanted. In my experience, set screws are usually metric/fine thread. Sure enough, they had a 10-32. Saved a couple $ because I didn't have to buy a new tap. Prices can be higher on some items but most are competitive. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Also enough employees so that you're in and out. Paint center with color mixing. Glass and screen repair. Items for outdoors as well as hardware.

Customer Message: So I just came from my local Ace hardware, in Lockport NY. I was looking for a grass and weed self pump sprayer and the concentrate so I can mix it.The price on shelf for the Ace brand was 12.99 and the concentrated solution was marked 19.99.I get to the register and my total was 49 and change. So I ask the cashier to look at price on shelf and he agreed the whole roll was mis marked.I asked the cashier aren't you suppose to give the customer the product for the price on the shelf. He had no clue and I left the store and will never go back to your stores due to shelf prices don't match your register prices.Totally not fair to customers.Thank youScott B

Always helpful staff, and large selection of everything home, garden, & hardware, paint & more. Store is handicap accessible & larger than it appears from the road. Great place for unique gifts too.
