We adopted a wonderful 9 month young puppy. He is loving and full of energy. I know how hard it is for the volunteers to do everything needed. I'm so thankful for them all. They do wonderful life services. My new best friend Monetyque and I are extremely extremely happy to start his forever home! ❤️ peace be with all yous guys. Yous make a difference!

HON connected us with our Maisy girl. She is the best dog and has brought so much joy into our lives. She fits our lifestyle perfectly. HON rescue described her temperament and demeanor to a t, and was very honest with us in what to expect adopting her. They also gave us helpful tips on how to introduce her to our two cats properly, and now all three live in harmony! We are so incredibly grateful for our girl ❤️ Cannot recommend this rescue enough if you’re looking to give a forever home to your new best friend!

I adopted a dog from Heart of Niagara and it was a great experience. The volunteers work tirelessly to ensure dogs are matched up to the best family. The director helped us to make sure that the dog we were interested in was a good fit for our family and our existing dog. They ensure the health and safety of the dogs in their care is a top priority. I adopted a dog with pre-existing health issues and they followed up with me to ensure she was doing well. I highly recommend adopting from Heart of Niagara. The love and care they provide for the dogs is wonderful!

We adopted our dog from Heart of Niagara in 2014. She was injured when they took her in, saving her from euthanasia at a shelter down south. Her injuries led to her leg needing to be removed. The shelter fundraised and provided all the medical care she needed and saved her life. When we met her, she was a scared but sweet little thing with a broken leg and no hope for a future. She came home with us the day her stitches came out from her surgery to remove the broken leg. She has been the missing piece to our family ever since. She is sweet, smart and quirky. And without Heart of Niagara she would not be a part of our lives. She has rolled with what life throws at her from a big move to a new family member and the loss of one of her favorite people. We will never be able to thank Heart of Niagara enough for bringing her into our lives and still asking for updates after all these years.

I have yet to go to this shelter but I hear good things about and that makes me want to visit, hopefully find a small, sweet puppy or older. I need them as much as they need me. I also am very much interested in volunteering. My only draw back is I would need a ride. I am retired and sold my car 2 yrs. hopefully, we can work this out.My Best,Carol j. Harris

We were able to find a wonderful senior dog that needed a home. These folks help us navigate our new girl's health concerns with ease and caring. These are truly "salt of the earth" type folks.
