we ordered a bunch of stuff, and sadly- it was mostly disappointing. the best thing we got were the wings- we got the buffalo and the thai dry rub. Both were really tasty! We tried a bunch of the tacos, and they were all disappointing- except the chicken tinga. While the meat was good quality and had lots of potential, all the tacos were unseasoned and under-sauced. there was little to no flavor in all of the tacos we tried. The pastrami was super dry and underwhelming. The hot dog was okay, but nothing special. The waitstaff was super friendly- we had high expectations, but ultimately left disappointed.

This place is NOT good! I went online to look for restaurants in our area open on a Thursday and came across this AWESOME website! Don't be fooled! It's NOT a restaurant just a bar.The bartender was amazing but the food was just horrible! We ordered a $21 valentine day burger with crab... No one asked how we'd like it done and we got a small burnt , dry burger with potato chips on the side for $21.00! ...at least have fries on the side.We also ordered the short rib tacos and it was evidently old and re-fired, making it crispy and dry. It was the WORST taco I ever had in my life! It cost me $7.00, usually cost $8 for ONE taco! I ordered because I thought they'd be amazing at that price.I blame myself for not saying anything and paying the bill. I'm not into confrontation and was only trying to eat local and support the local Sullivan County community.VAN SMOKEY MEAT SHOP restaurant? & bar is a place I will Never go again! BE forewarned!Bar person was awesome as well as the Margaritas but they were a little on the smaller side.

This place is awesome...Great food at awesome prices !! The store is packed with Kool things and the Meat shop is mouthwatering!!! They also have Live Music, Movie Nights and Karaoke!!!...DEFINITELY worth the short walk or ride away from Main Street

This Gem has been open for about 3 years and it was my first time stopping by on the way to our cabin. Great vibes. Great mountain/smokehouse with a little bit of rock & roll decor. Warm welcome with a fire pit smoldering outside. Margaritas were delicious. The WINGS were phenomenal. The homemade Bleu cheese dressing was amazing. The CHILI. The CHURROS. The homemade WHIPPED CREAM. The Homemade SAUCES. The local smoked trout taco. Order everything I just listed and take some jerky and wild meat to go. You won’t be angry.Parking: Huge parking lotKid-friendliness: My kids loved the stuffed bear and the fur seat cushions.

Such a great local gem! My wife and I love this place. Seriously great tacos, killer cocktails and yummy nachos. The bartenders are always so welcoming. Love the Trivia on Wednesdays and outdoor movies on Saturday. You can always grab meat and hot sauce from the market on your way out which is so convenient (and tasty)!

Jeff and his crew are top notch. I was looking to throw a 20-25 person birthday party for my partner and he opened his doors with ease and attention. We took some time to craft a plan where by we had food rolling out over a few hours (great selection of tacos, wings and nachos that kept everyone fed and happy) along with an open bar where our guests didn't have to be limited as to how they were partying. The price was right, the F&B outstanding and the staff was kind, patient and pleasant from start to finish. Appreciate Jeff and his willingness to accommodate. Thanks again VS!

A group of us went here for my friends birthday and we had an amazing time!! “Jenn as in Jennifer” as she calls herself was the best! She was very welcoming, friendly, very attentive, had us laughing, and made us all feel like we were at home. The service was fast. The chef was also very personable. The drinks were delicious!! The food was fantastic!! We weren’t even out of the door yet, and already making plans to go back soon!!

Outstanding stop! Shop had a ton of great items including beautiful meats (highly recommend the cheddar sausage), house made hot sauces and bloody mary mix, various pickled items and some local beer/spirits! Food was delicious at the restaurant, wings were perfect and and the tacos were great too! Jenn is amazing and will make your stop that much better! Cant wait to go again!

Stopped in here with my mom to check out the store and grab some jerky. Ended up getting lunch at the bar. Jen was our bartender and she was fantastic! Really made our time that much better. Food was REALLY good. We got some wings and the burger. both were SOOO good. like, surprisingly good. You gotta try it. I cant wait to get back to the area to come back here. Great vibes.

Was very excited to try this spot after reading about it online. Stopped in for dinner and found the atmosphere a little bit unwelcoming, like we were outsiders at a local hangout. The food was really bland. The tacos tasted like nothing, dry rubbed chicken wings had almost no rub, the trout dip was okay.

Been coming here on and off, either if I'm camping nearby or RVing elsewhere...service is by far awesome., Jen is super helpful, knowledgeable and incredibly generous. They sell the BEST Beef Liver dog Jerky on the planet ... Whenever I'm in town I get a bag for not just my furchild but also my neighbors who request it... Absolutely love the fact they carry local caught trout (great for us lazy folk.) Best spot to stop in along the way or stop in to hang out, recommend all for any fancy.

Fantastic! We stopped for first time today and can’t wait to get back. Picked up a charcuterie platter for an event tomorrow. It’s amazing!Great shop. Tons of cool kitchenware and amazing smoked meats. Smoked mushrooms too.Wonderful cool staff makes you feel so welcome.A new favorite!!

We had such a fun night at Van Smokey last evening. Drinks are especially good and food was great. ( We had several different tacos but smoked trout was really good.) Pastrami which is made on site was quite good. Bartender is very nice. Can’t wait to return.

My brother gave me a jar of there Thermonuclear smoked pickles, Wow never had pickles like that before great flavor with some good heat to. When we found out that they were up in Livingston Manor it was time for a road trip. Great little Bar, restaurant, deli. We had some grass fed burgers and Tacos out on there porch. And scored a couple jars of there delicious pickles to. Check them out. Nice vibe and the staff is great.

We went here after a day at Bellayre and I'm glad we did. Food and drinks were top notch - I really enjoyed the cheesy sausage and chips with guac. The churro special was awesome, too. Atmosphere is great and the bartenders/servers were very friendly/helpful. Do yourself a favor and check out Van Smokey if you are in the area!

Came here 2 years ago for a $10 bag of jerky that I almost broke my teeth on it was so hard I threw it out. Decided to try the place out again since they’re a restaurant now and the pastrami sandwich was the worst I’ve ever had. Just chunks of tough chewy meat. Nothing like a tender pastrami sandwich from katzs or Carnegie or any cut from the supermarket…oh and it was $18 …I really expected something better as I was really craving a good pastrami sandwich..very disappointed..

This place is a major disappointment. Tacos are meh (tried 2 tacos: smoked trout and a short rib). We also ordered a burger and it was very undercooked (asked for medium well and got medium rare). Bloody Mary is made with just a mix, zero tomato juice, no garnish, nothing. The service is extremely slow (there’s just one person working at both the store and the restaurant).

REALLY great/cool place. The service was excellent, the tacos were excellent, the jerky was tasty. Honestly, I can't emphasize enough how great the service was. They were extremely friendly. The atmosphere was great as well. Would strongly recommend!

Great little bar and shop for hot sauce and pickled goods, but not what I expected from a smokey meat shop. Very little bbq on the menu and virtually no smoked meats. They do offer great hot sauces, jerky, and interesting pickled goods to go, but that doesn't really reflect onto the food menu. Had a fun visit, but wish they served more bbq.

Van Smokey’s is one of the best bars in the Livingston Manor area. They offer a variety of tacos, and I keep finding a new favorite every time I a try a new one. It’s always a good vibe there and the owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Great cocktails , burgers , Tacos and Staff! Jenn was awesome . Highly recommend coming here from anywhere! It’s worth the trip !
