Such a gorgeous place. The bridge may not be highly functional but wow is it beautiful. Quiet, sxenic and full to the brim with exhibits. The staff was friendly and informative. I would go just for the serenity of the atmosphere but they do offer demonstrations and teaching opportunities. I went for an event and I'm very glad I did.

Don’t pass up this place in the Catskills. A treasure trove of fly fishing gear and easy to access off of 17. Need some inspiration for a fishing trip with the crew? Spend part of the day here and you can hike around as well. Donated items from previous mountain fishermen is for sale as well; found a really nice fly tying table vice with a carrying case.

I was here several years ago now but the experience has never left me. The history, the sacred fishing knowledge, education of fly fishing is all laid out in front of you to discover! Take in scenery, do some fishing on the historic streams in the area, then hit this museum for the whole fly fishing history. You won’t be disappointed and it will be the experience of a lifetime!

What a beautiful part of the world! This is an amazing place to visit from the museum to the Fly Fishing Hall of Fame. It is a must see and the people there are top notch!! Worth the flight and drive. I visited there all the way from Colorado! 100% worth it!

Awesome find. The displays and artifacts are remarkable. They tell the story of fly fishing in the Catskills vividly. The staff are friendly and have great advice on local rivers and fish. They also have a small gift shop with great ideas for the angler in your world. :)The museum is small but has so many great things to see. Pull off the highway and go in. It’s totally worth it.

This place is cool but you really have to care about the history of fly fishing to get into it. Many of the limited interactive displays they had were non working and it felt as though the "flow" of exhibits was hard to follow and felt just thrown together. That said, they do education workshops and many other events that look amazing and is definitely worth checking out!

This is a must-see for anyone interested in fly fishing. Staff are knowledgeable and so friendly. While fishing is not my cup of tea, I was impressed with the quality and care given to museum. Upon entry the wooden bridge may look imposing but rest assured, it is well built.

This place is beautiful! Cross a narrow bridge over the Willowemoc Creek and you arrive at this peaceful estate dedicated to fly fishing. The grounds were nicely kept, including some recently carved nature trails through the woods along the bank of the Willowemoc. There is a pond onsite fed by the Willowemoc that looks like it has all sorts of fish in it.. The staff are friendly and the museum pays homage to the history of fly fishing and its roots right here in the Catskills. There is a gift shop that serves as the entry to the museum and seperately a workshop where they occasionally host sessions on making bamboo fly rods. I'd love to see them do workshops on fly tying too. And was able to fish the pond and the Willowemoc right there on the museum grounds! Work the visit and I'll certainly be back to explore more.

Interesting bit of fly fishing history in the small museum and gift shop. It's free and you have the opportunity to get a line wet on the nearby Willowemoc stream and maybe catch & release a few trout. No eating facilities but there are nice grounds for picnicking and for club affairs.

I was lucky enough to visit when the director was on site and got a great tour. The epicenter of dry fly fishing in the united states. So many examples of early fly fishing and adjunct information. It is a little dated, but gets the job done. I spent over two hours there much to the chagrin of my girlfriend.

Love this place in the rain. They keep expanding the attractions. In the basement is a bamboo rod making exhibition. Wonderful people who are more than willing to show you around. If you're I'm the area, it really is worth your time.

Great location to plan your fly fishing from. The bunks provided in the 2 bunkhouses are uncomfortable & dirty. Electric outlets to power any type breating devices, photo equipment or cell phones is very limited. The kitchen is adiquitly stocked to cook meals. Bathrooms aye very dirty & unsanitary. I see no reason the museum management could not do a better job of just that..manage the facility.

The CFFC&M is a must see if you are visiting anywhere in the western Catskills. It is a storied repository of a great deal of memories and gear of many of the greats of the sport and art of Fly Fishing. In addition to the museum, The Center runs a number of programs during the year for kids and adults alike. Highly recommended.

I was pleasantly surprised given that I had no prior interest. Only went because my husband wanted to go. The rod building shop and making of flies was very informative.

All the guys are friendly and helpful. Happy to help and suggest. It's a pleasure to stop in there anytime. Anytime I'm in Roscoe I buy something for The Tackle Box and always end up needing it.
