We stopped her because some locals we ran into at a park recommended it while we were vacationing. Great Food! Kids loved it! All kids meals were $9.99 but big. In the summer the kids get a free huge ice cream with their meal.My only complaint, is the drink prices. The fountain soda was $3.99. My suggestion is to bring your own drinks, because you sit outside anyways, or get water if you're a family on a tight budget. The views here are beautiful.

Great place for a quick bite. They offer a variety of options from salads, vegan, burgers, hot dogs and of course the Haystack in addition to ice cream and delicious treats.Enjoy one of the seats inside and watch over the Niagara River below.Watching the sunset from here is phenomenal.

Date of visit Mon Aug 7We first learned of this restaurant while watching a rerun of a show called Man vs Food on the travel channel. We were surprised to learn of this restaurant that was so close to us, that we had never heard of before. We cross the USA border into Lewiston a lot, and yet never went into Lewiston itself. Until now. This is a fast food style restauarant where you place your order and then find a seat in the silo. They call you when your order is ready for you to pick up.The building is a historic old silo and has amazing views of the Niagara River and the Canadian Side of the river.Burgers, dogs, sausages, chicken, and other similar types of food.We ordered the Haystack & Fish & Chips. The haystack is like a loose meat sandwich covered in cheese and fried onions. They offer loganberry drink in the beverages – which made me happy as I am from Crystal Beach where loganberry drink was made famous, and very popular when I grew up.The food is very good. A nice casual meal with nice waterfront views. The restaurant is only open May 1st - September 6th and is very popular with locals and tourists during the summer/There is a train caboose onn site where you can get ice cream cones. Some of their flavours were pretty amazing.A walk along the river is a lovely way to work off some of the calories you just took in, and see the Underground railroad statue, and the cute town.

This is a piece of history transformed into a casual exceptional restaurant. Prices were very reasonable, selections are many, and the food was fantastic. Comfort food done right, did I mention RIGHT!The views are "million dollar" one's, the scenery doesn't get much better than this. Now I have to go back and try the locally made ice cream and Soft Serve - Idaho knows what I'm talking about - give me an hour or so 😁

My wife and I visited the area and found this wonderful place. They processed the order line quickly by giving an electronic buzzer to let know when your order was ready. The view across the Niagara River was relaxing and beautiful. The food was fresh and very flavorful. I ordered the Silo Haystack and it was really good. The onions are crispy and the temperature was just right. We would go back and in fact did return a second time after our first time.

Lunch at the Silo on a rainy Sunday was quite yummy! We had the stack, which was piled high with beef and cheese and potato stix. Beef on a weck, this is the only bit that wasn't 5 star and it was only the bun. The bun was covered in table salt and it was just too much salt. The beef was delicious, and I wiped the extra salt off so I could eat it. My son had the Silo burger and that was gone quick. We shared a large order of loaded fries and they were loaded with the best bacon, so good. Location is perfect on the river, even on a rainy day view is beautiful. We will definitely visit again and next time get some ice cream too!

Nice little spot! The food was pretty tasty, burger well made along with the other food we had.Kids meals get a free ice cream which is pretty awesome too, and the little caboose had a nice selection of dairy treats.View is also nice with grassy areas to lounge around. Would recommend!

Food is what you would get at Disneyland. Fries are inedible. Sauces are all packaged. Tables are very uncomfortable. Prices are too high. People working there are friendly. Setting is beautiful. The ice cream and frozen custard is very good, locally sourced but not homemade. LookKid-friendliness: Lots of kids.

The Food was great & the atmosphere was inviting. The views were peaceful and serene. You have the option to order with your phone from a table of your choosing or stand in line to order & pay then choose a spot to enjoy the fresh air waiting for your pager to buzz to pick up ur food. After enjoying your burger or hot dog, you can walk over to the Caboose for some perry's ice cream which won't disappoint & can enjoy it with taking a stroll or snagging a spot on a swing or bench to watch the sunset or just relax. This definitely a great way to close out an eventful day.

Overpriced food, but it turned out pretty good. I had a double bacon cheeseburger that was delicious, and fries that were par. The large drink is medium-sized at best, but free refills. I did not try the ice cream stand.

Went to silo while in vacation with friends thanks to their recommendation and wasn't disappointed! The view of the sunset from the unique curved picnic table style seating overlooking the water was great. I had the haystack which was shaved ribeye steak with cheese and crispy potato sticks overflowing a fresh hoagie bun. Perhaps i was just hungry but it was incredible! It melted in my mouth with a mix of textures in a juicy chorus of flavors that just called for another bite.

We stayed at the Niagara Crossing Hotel up the hill across the street from The Silo and we stopped here shortly after arrival while walking our dog.We ordered haystacks, no mayo, and they were very good. The haystack is a unique sandwich, one I could never duplicate myself, so I'd definitely order that again. Also, the service was great. Hannah in particular made us feel very welcome. She was super friendly, answered our questions about the menu, and then got our picky, customized order perfect. She even bundled our fries and drinks so we saved some money. Hannah also made us laugh while ordering, so she gets bonus points for that. Then Hannah came by to bring our thirsty pup a bowl of water, and also made sure we got our food and were enjoying it. We ended up having a wonderful and relaxing sunset dinner with perfect service! Thank you, Hannah!I highly recommend The Silo. There's also a great ice cream truck onsite (Perry's Ice Cream). The lemon sorbet was very smooth and refreshing.

Was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant on a random Monday night visit to Lewiston. The silo is a perfect place for a quick bite with a scenic view of the Niagara river, and Niagara on the lake. The menu offers something for everyone, and not to be missed is their Haystack - their house special (as seen on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives). The food is great quality, and the restaurant is what I lovingly describe as cheep and cheerful.Accessibility note: wheel chair friendly, with ramps.

Paige was awesome at suggesting the original haystack that has rib-eyed steak with Mozzarella cheese and toasted hashbrowns. Truly amazing along with the customer service. We will definitely be back and recommend to our friends that are coming from Indiana.

Great story and atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit. The service was fine and the food was good. The outdoor seating was nice. I loved the patina in the bathroom. Prices were kind of on the high side. The fish sandwich, hotdog, smelt, burger and onion rings were all good. Sandwiches would have been better if the buns were warmed and not so cold.

Great repurposing of a historic landmark. Actually, multiple landmarks with the ice cream caboose. It’s definitely worth the experience, especially with the view. The food is basic fast casual, which works for what it is.

Unique restaurant with great views and awesome food. Most seats wrap around edge and offer awesome views of the river. Food was great and the sweat potato fries were the best I've ever had. The sandwich was enormous and again spectacular. Ice cream next door. Worth the drive from the city.

Love this place. If you're looking for the absolutely crispiest fries you've ever had, friggin go here. And the haystack is awesome. I get it every time I go. And I learned something new today - the kids meals come with ice cream?! 10/10 the only downside is that it is seasonal. Also I took a picture of the sunset.Vegetarian options: There were several options, including salads and veggie burgers.Parking: Parking has been abundant every time I've gone.Kid-friendliness: Multiple kids meals, all come with a small drink, french fries, and voucher for an ice cream.Wheelchair accessibility: I didn't see a single stair.

We stayed at the nearby hotel. We tried the food here one night and it was so good that we went back a few more times during our stay. The view can't be beat. Perfect for a laid back romantic evening. They were super accommodating with my wife's gluten allergy as well. Definitely Celiac friendly!
