We've been coming here each summer we visit Lake Placid. Food is good but the new addition (and thank you for your leadership) is the addition of the two new EV charging spots... Just keep the non ev cars out... One spot was iced when we arrived and the other was occupied by anyone baby dinosaur burning vehicle.

Great bakery. Needed a last minute cake and there was not anything pre made that we wanted. A guy named Timothy that worked there went out of his way to make us a last minute cake and decorate it for us. He made our day. Great customer service.

You win Price Chopper, you wore me down, I just can't do it anymore.In Lake Placid, NY, there are two supermarkets, Price Chopper and Hannaford, and you Price Chopper, have always been my go to store. Your produce is slightly better (but not without it's problems), your bakery is better and I like your store points (which Hannaford doesn't have). But tonight's visit to your store has got to be the final straw for me.I went in at 7pm to pick up a couple of things. There's usually not a lot of traffic in the store at this time and tonight was no different. I picked up my 3 things and went to check out. You have 8 check out lanes, and 5 self checkout stations. But for whatever reason, you've decided it's a good idea to only have one check out lane open and all the self check outs closed. To make it even better, you have what has to be your slowest employee assigned to the one check out lane that's open. It was excruciating to watch this individual sedately move her way through the customers in front of me. Picking up each item, searching for the bar code, running it across the scanner 2 or 3 times, placing it in the bag in slow motion, and then at the speed of hair growing, reach for the next item.The next customer in line had returnable bottle receipts to cash and of course there was a problem with that, which meant getting on the loud speaker and calling the manager. At that point I had spent the best years of my life in that line and I just couldn't do it anymore. I dropped my items on the belt of an empty check out lane and left. I'm sorry I had to do that Price Chopper, but the consistent lack of customer service in this particular store put me over the top.While I'm at it, there are a couple other things I need to get off my chest. For years, yes years, I've noticed a particular issue with your produce. Specifically the pre-packaged salad items like bagged lettuce and spinach. I can't tell you how many times I've purchased a bag of salad that looked fresh and had days before reaching it's expiration date, only to get it home and the next day open it to the smell of decay and wilted and rotten leaves. I've even written to a couple of the manufacturers of the items to inform them that I believed there was a systemic problem with the way their products were being stored and handled at this particular Price Chopper. The experience happened too many times to me for it to be an isolated problem or a coincidence. Certainly I couldn't be the only one this happens to. And I believe this problem still exists in this particular store.And why, for the love of God, do you close the self check out area so early. Keeping it open would avoid the whole problem I had this evening with just one manned check out lane open. And as for the ironically named "customer service" desk, which never has anyone there, why bother if it never has someone there to help?Now a couple of compliments. Not all the employees in this store are completely lacking in customer service skills, there are a few that stand out as dedicated employees. One is the gentlemen that works in the bakery department. He's always very helpful and just a genuinely nice guy. There are two travelling managers that I see occasionally that are also well versed in customer service and genuinely care about the store. I don't know their names, but one is a woman with dark hair and the other a younger guy that is always friendly and helpful when I have question. He generally hangs out at the front end of the store when he's there.In closing, just let me say that there are 1000 things I would rather have been doing than wasting my time writing this Google review. But tonight's frustration at you, dear Price Chopper drove me to the edge, and I jumped.

First time shopping experience was great. Better than I expected. Excellent produce selection and a well-stocked store. Loads of brands and decent prices. Warm and caring employees as well. We continue to shop at Price Chopper and remain quite pleased. Employees are happy to help, and the store inventory remains full.

With only 2 cahiers on register with lines, I decided to get out of line and use the self check out even though I had a large order. I don't mind using self check out, but there needs to be more space to work. If this is the direction store's are going, it's time to think of redesigning. I won't do that again.

Great Day!I shop at this Price Chopper every week. Most of the staff is wonderful. I know Justin Cavalloro. He always checks in to make sure if and when my grandparents water needs to be re-ordered. Most of the time the staff is friendly at check out and will talk to me or my kids as we go through. Today was especially great because a front end associate went above and beyond. First she helped a lady in a wheelchair waiting in line behind me. She helped her move her chair and groceries to a different check out that was going to open. Then she offered to help me cash out at self-checkout and she scanned most of the groceries for me before she had to go help another customer. Her name tag said Maddie B. and I just wanted to say that her hardworking, pleasant nature didn’t go unnoticed today!

Decent place, watermelon isn’t that great there, and I love the drink selections. They have good yogurt selections as well, and overall nothing very special, just a regular grocery store. Workers are pretty polite, you can tell the difference between the ones who just wanna get work done and the ones who like their job 🤣. Also charging stations are super nice down there. Around 11 Tesla chargers? ( off the top of my head) but a nice, clean grocery store

Grab and go fried chicken NOT cooked all the way through! Chicken was red in the middle! Cashier was not very nice. She never acknowledged me with a hello. I had to say hi to her. She barely said anything.

We were sitting home and hubby said that he wanted to go food shopping. Where we live we have to travel to shop so price chopper in lake placid was a sure hit. 40 some odd miles later we arrived. We have an electric car so we use the charging station there. There was one parking spot available but the other cars parked in the reserved spots were not chargeable cars. That was the only downside. That the spots reserved for shoppers with electric cars to charge are usually filled with non charging cars. It would be nice if they could police that area better. Once inside the store we had a successful outing. Love the store. The parking lots sucks

Best place to shop for groceries. Big variety and good sale prices (get an awards card). I like their approach to covid-19 practices. Clearly marked isles and personal protection used by all. Try their fresh pizza dough in the dairy section, I love it! Mask on 😷

Experiencing staff shortage expect some wait times. Staff is still very friendly and very accommodating and helpful regardless. Stores organized similar to a Hannaford.

Open 24 hours. Beer is served late night. Our go to place when we are in area. Staff are very helpful. One stop for almost everything. Fresh goods and good prices. Huge parking lot is in front of the building. Serve fresh donuts in the morning too. Definitely recommended.

Such a disappointment and sadly it doesn't improve. Can't keep any good help. The few good employees are stressed out. Once an alarm was going off in the the seafood department, which I figured was for a deep fryer. No one was around. A young blond girl employee came thru the backroom pushing a cart of produce. I told her she might want to alert someone of the alarm. Her reply to me was "it's not my department or problem". Seriously, terrible customer service skills. Now that same girl works in the deli. Needless to say if she's working the deli, I skip it.

Selection is good but prices are higher than Hannafords if you don't buy items while on sale. Also the kid running the register would not take my passport as ID until a manager told him it was okay.

Very good 24 hour supermarket. Convenient to Saranac Lake. Excellent selection, fair prices. Not all departments open late night. Gas discount if you use their frequent shopping card.

Completely iced when I arrived to charge. I called the store to see if they could do anything about it and was hung up on. I just had to wait until someone was done shopping and moved out of a Tesla spot to charge.

Became a regular Lake Placid PC Shopper 16 years ago when I became employed by the Golub Corporation. Viewers may think my review would be biased, but I'm being objective & honest. Always been satisfied with quality and their weekly sales. Seldom did I experience any problems, but if It did occur, it was handled with professionalism. Never left unsatisfied. Four Star was my rating only because of my employment status & 5 stars would appear unrealistic.

It was okay, but the baking department leaves a lot to be desired. Very sad looking donuts and very limited supply of bagels. No fish other than sad looking salmon from Chilly.
