Cory, Mike, and the whole team are awesome. I bought a Salomon Sight board setup back in 2021 and it's served me great. Last weekend, I was in the market for a new board but pickings were slim at the end of the season. Instead of trying to offload one of the boards they did have on me, they hooked me up with a high-end burton demo board at an extremely reasonable rate for the weekend and offered to help me get what I wanted for next season. I'll be buying from them again! Honest and real dudes.

Awesome store. Got some sweet new bindings for my snowboard, and Corey was so helpful with fixing an issue I’ve had with my boots for a long time by getting me new foot pads and blowing out my boots. Great selection of clothes and equipment too.

Lake Placid Ski and Board is where we buy all of our winter gear, ski equipment, hiking/camping odds-and-ends, and all of our summer apparel too. It is seriously such a great store and always has a good vibe - the best ski/board shop in town. They have a wide selection of top-quality brands, good sales, and excellent customer service. Their products hold up against whatever challenges Whiteface can throw at it. We are still learning all the names of the staff, but Mike is awesome and Gar does amazing work back in the shop. We happily recommend them to anyone looking for a spot to buy new gear!

I walked in casually to just look around and ended up finding a great deal on skis boots and poles! Ingrid was great with helping and answering questions. She was super friendly and knowledgeable. My teenage son suddenly grew out of everything! Ingrid helped us find a coat, snowpants, skis, bindings and boots! She was kind, patient and super helpful. Cory, Mike, and Ingrid also went out of their way to make it possible to pick up the skis with little time left in their day so my son can ski on opening day at Whiteface. Incredible customer service and I will definitely go back!! Thank you!!

Quick service, extremely patient , very affordable ski rental conveniently located . Ski rental for next day starts at 2:30pm just keep that in mind. Great sales, fast returns.

Got my skis tuned with a minor repair for $70 here, and honestly I’m very disappointed, the edges aren’t at all sharp, actually duller in some places than before I brought them in, not to mention there is also wax just left on the edge as well, I don’t think that effects performance but it just seems sloppy for this price

Excellent service and value for a ski tune I had done here recently. I had pretty significant scratched on the bottom of my Rossignol skis from a few seasons of use and asked the ski technician for their opinion. They recommended the #3 tune for $34.99 and said they'd have the skis done by end of day.I picked the skis up the next day and was blown away by the quality of the repair and tuning work. The surfaces of my skis looked close to perfect, and the edges very sharp. I took them out on Whiteface the same day and it was like riding a brand new pair of skis. These guys are awesome!

This place is super pro! It exceeded all my expectations. First of all - plethora of choices - you got everything from basic gear stuff to small details necessary for your perfect sport experience, wear and accessories from world class brands - all in one place. Honestly - you won't find anything like this especially the closer you get to NYC. If you want to buy gear and wear for your winter sports - this is the place!Staff - nicest people! Got helped as many times as I visited this store in a fraction of second!So finally I decided to buy skis from ground zero. One guy dedicated 1.5 hours for me to walk around the shop and pick up everything I need: skis, boots, helmet, goggles, ski bag, etc. Moreover he did ski bindings and tuning for me, including foot measurements and boots adjustments! I felt like NASA astronaut there - these guys are PRO!So, if you want to get your gear especially if you just started skiing or boarding - this place is full service super high quality one stop shop for you!!!

Large selection of skis and ski equipment. I am into Rossi’s and they have a nice selection. Prices are decent. Got my skis at a good end of season price.The service was great which is what you need when you are looking for ski equipment.Also a good selection of outdoor clothesIt seems like this place has the best selection of equipment in town.

Can you say AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! WOW!I called the shop yesterday at 2:30pm to see if they had a ski that I had been trying to find, and I spoke with Lilly, who said "I'm pretty sure we do, but let me go check to make sure." She confirmed that they had the ski. I called back a few minutes later and spoke with the Store Manager, Cory, and I asked him if they had the binding that I wanted to have mounted on the ski that I wanted, and if it was possible to pick them up later that day before they closed at 6pm. Cory said, no problem, we can do that for you, and they were on sale at an amazing price...yeah, Score!I arrived at the shop at 5:15, and low and behold, who is the Ski Tech, why Gar of course! Now to those not in the know, Gar has been mounting skis in Lake Placid for many moons, and there is no finer imo! I had met Gar back in 1998, and was pretty pumped that he was in charge of my new toys! :)So, yes it was a Thursday, and it may be impossible to replicate this scenario, but let me just say that I was very impressed and will definitely shop there again!

My wife and I rented ski equipment here this past week. Very good equipment at the best price in town. Much cheaper than renting at Whiteface.The fella (nick??) that got our skis for us was great. Laid back, not rushing us.My wife hurt her leg on the first day and was unable to continue skiing. The shop was kind enough to give us a store credit as we returned her skis after only 1 day. She was planning on buying a coat anyway, so that was nice.Good job, I’ll rent again there next season.

Staff is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and the atmosphere whenever I am there is just fun. I purchased my boots, skis and goggles and other accessories from this store. They have an amazing selection and the owner will order what he doesn't have (if he can) and match online prices or better (if he can) because of all of this I much prefer to support local. They are officially my ski shop. They have some really great techs working there too that do great tunes and repairs!

Highly recommend Corey for boot fitting if you have hard feet to fit. Cleaner workmanship than I've seen from other boot fitters too! My feet are much happier. He also helped me better understand the flex in my boots and how to adjust them depending on conditions.

Such a great place. Workers are amazing, guys in the tuning shop were great, same with the people behind the checkout desk. Tuned my board quickly and did a great job. Great selection of gear as well. Worked out well because the tuning shop at whiteface wasn't open because "he didn't show up" lol. I don't know who "he" is but I hope he's okay.

This place is great. After years I finally bought new boots, skis, gloves and goggles. The guy who helped me was great. He showed me a couple different boots and skis in the price range I had. Pros and cons of each. Didn’t push any individual item on me. Didn’t rush me. The girl at the counter helped me with gloves. Again told me about each pair she gave me to look at. Even the tech in the back was cool. Everyone was awesome and would recommend this place to everyone. Thanks guys.

I was told by the manager to not post anything in a review when I got a refund. Let me start, i have never skied in my life. I went in on a Sunday to get fitted and rent equipment to go out Monday and Tuesday. Monday we weren’t able to get lift passes so opted to try a different mountain for Tuesday instead. I go to my beginner lesson and get one boot and ski on - no problem. Other boot - wouldn’t snap in. Told by the instructor, to go to their rental shop and get it checked, within 2 minutes the busy ski resort employee informed me that I had 2 different sized boots and that my skis were not set up correctly. The manger when informed about this mistake blamed it on the busy store, it was a Sunday evening and we were the only 2 people getting fitted at the time. Please spend the money and just rent from whatever mountain you are skiing or boarding at - I will never rent from them or recommend this place to anyone.
