I have been going to the Jolly Cow for many years. No I was never a regular, since I never lived close by. And I have not visited the Jolly Cow in a few years now. But I will say that other than mostly parking changes, nothing is really a whole lot different. They are just your local ice cream stand with the warm weather treats folks crave.I stopped in recently and enjoyed their version of a Dairy Queen Blizzard. I think it was called a Razzle (sp?) They did it a little differently though. They didn't mix as much candy into the ice cream as others. But they did mix in some. Then they gave a good size topping of my chosen candy. I have to admit, it was different. It took me a little bit to figure out to eat it differently. But I really liked it. The ice cream seemed of good flavor, so I suspect they do use quality cream.One thing I never liked was Jolly Cows location right off of route 9W, close to the route 209 interchange. Yes it's probably one of the reasons for their success. But it can be difficult to get in and out of. It was much quieter decades ago when my parents first brought us there. I also worry about the kids wandering out there. But most folks take the kids in the back to the tables to avoid any hazards.The Jolly Cow does not take credit cards (cash only). But they do have an ATM on the side of the building. They also do not have customer restrooms on site. With that said:The Jolly Cow has a decent array of treats for your choosing. My small Razzle (sp?) cost me $4.50 in July 2023. It was by no means cheap for a the smallest Razzle. I could go buy a half gallon of ice cream for less. But it's not the same as the soft ice cream and candy mixed in, treat. It's also not the same as enjoying your treat at the ice cream stand. It really is more about the experience than just having an ice cream.The Jolly Cow has been a part of my life, on and off for many years. It lets me relive my childhood when ever I stop in. And if you haven't figured it out, I do recommend them.

I come every year for the Autumn Parfait. It's absolutely delicious. Layered soft vanilla ice cream (flavor of your choice) hot apples, caramel sauce, and graham cracker crumbles. It comes only in one size cup- which is about a medium. It's definitely worth the trip. Also, the pumpkin and cheesecake ice cream is delicious too- especially as a swirl. They only accept cash, so come prepared for that. Parking is always tricky and tight.

Got ice cream here last night after I picked up my pup from surgery. My daughter devoured her small vanilla cup, and I got a medium twist, which was delicious. My pup also got a doggy ice cream, he was unsure at first but finished it on his way home. So happy this place is dog friendly, he blends right in and should be on advertisements 😁.

Best chocolate malted in the tristate area. Make sure you tell them you want syrup and malt powder. Huge delicious ice cream cones and the prices in this inflationary times are reasonable.Kid-friendliness: More carloads of kids than adults. What'd you expect ... its ice cream :)

We went here twice in June, both in the afternoon when it wasn't busy. Both times we ordered milkshakes. The first time we had a vanilla and a strawberry, and the second time a vanilla and a black and white. All were delicious and served in a very short time. The servers were very friendly. I understand why they've (the business) been around for a long time.

This is where I can get the tallest soft ice cream cone I've ever had, an easy 8"'s tall !Parking: Today I pulled in. I was like the third car by the time I left there were 18 vehicles. None of them had any issues.Kid-friendliness: Wide open w/ picnic benches.Wheelchair accessibility: Wide open.

Delicious ice cream and really cheap. In the photo is a small soft serve cup - it's huge. 2 small ice creams were $6.50. And again, REALLY good. Of course all ice cream is good but this was exceptionally good!

First time @ #TheJollyCow ! If I lived closer to this place that would be my new nickname. I ordered the raspberry pistachio twist with toasted coconut flakes, in a sugar cone!!!! Forget about dinner!

3 fabulous servings of ice cream for only $11!!!! We got both hard ice cream and soft serve. The taste was great, the serving sizes were plentiful, the staff was patient and friendly, and you couldn't beat the price. We will be stopping here for a treat every time we frequent adam's fair acres.

Great variety of ice cream, sundaes, shakes and more. Very pleasant server. Reasonable prices. It has a wonderful picnic area to enjoy your special treat. The hot fudge sundae was delicious. Their chocolate malts are very good. Would recommend a visit. Enjoy.

Just went to the Port Ewen one.What a joke! This place will not last unless they get their act together. Staff needs training. Small wet walnut Sunday looked like a kiddie cup with hardly any wet walnuts. Wife had a small frazzle which was mostly cookies she couldn't even eat it. There was hardly any ice cream. What a shame. the other Jolly cow is good but they need someone here that knows what they are doing. We will head to Mickeys igloo next time.

My order was messed up, and they blamed me instead of just fixing it.I asked for a "milkshake" with vanilla ice cream and orange sherbert and they gave me something with soda in it. I told the person at the counter that's not what I ordered and they kind of rudely insisted that what I ordered was, in fact, a "sherbert shake" which is made with orange soda.I said milkshake, and I said sherbet. But I sure didn't say soda or whatever they thought it was. They could have just apologized for the confusion but instead they doubled down on how I should have just known that's what they would do even though it's not listed anywhere on the menu.They then charged me for a new one, and explained that in the future I need to specify that I want milk... in a milkshake.

Ice cream is the perfect food. It just is. Yesterday was my 1st time at Jolly Cow and the soft serve chocolate was sheer perfection. I am always trying and searching for new places to find the best. For soft ice cream I definitely found it and it is worth a trip across the river. Can’t wait to try the Perry’s hard ice cream. Thank you Jolly Cow

New favorite order!!! I got a large chocolate mocha (yes chocolate AND mocha...I love chocolate) shake! Legit one of my favorite shakes ever. Not too milky or too thick. Flavor was perfect as well!Service wise, there is always great service and the wait is hardly anything even when they are busy!

For what this is, it is excellent. It is a free standing, frozen custard stand with a shiny, life sized, black and white cow out front. What makes it special is variety. They have a incredible variety of frozen custard flavors, toppings (dozens!), shakes, floats, many Perry's real ice cream flavors, hot dogs. Service is fast, friendly, no one appears to be older than 20. Lots of easy parking, picnic tables on the grass, no WCs. My sweet heart and I are regulars.

Delicious! Big portions. John & Ann do an awesome job. The staff is always pleasant & very accommodating. Love the Ice cream sandwiches & the dozen deal. :) Too bad they're already closed for the season. I'm already looking forward to their springtime opening.
