I camp in a self-contained 25 foot sprinter van and she usually pretty easy to maneuver around the campground but I would suggest that this is a Campground for the returning camper and not so much someone coming here for the first time. It took me three tries to find the dog park. One map showed it behind the office but it was not. One Matt showed it around the corner, but that Way was locked and finally I found, it named not Murphy’s pub but completely different name and we were finally able to use it. They are very cute names on the Mac. I never didn’t understand what they were for and when I arrived, they gave me a map and said have a nice night. That’s fine as long as everything is clearly mark and there are not monster speed bumps as you try to go and find your campsite. When I made this reservation in January, and it is now September, I asked for a full site, but it did not have sewage, and it was on the backside of the campsite, where yes, indeed, the mosquitoes are crazy. I did move the next day which was just an inconvenience but not necessary because I’ve made my reservation so far to be . The people who work here are very nice and the bones of the camp are excellent and very family oriented. However, they are actively selling campsites and I really think they want to return in the camper and not the person traveling through. I have just completed 9000 miles of travel and without a doubt this was one of the most confusing campground in the entire trip , I came here to see the hot air balloon festival and was unfortunately given wrong information along the way. Their shuttle did not go to the location. In all, it was a frustrating weekend, but I had good neighbors and I enjoyed visiting with many of them.

We loved this campground! We got a cabin for our family of 6 and it went well. The cabin was very clean and the campground was lively and family friendly. They have great amenities such as a pool and a bar on site with dancing. They did movies at night on a big screen with a drive in feel. It's was good old-school family fun all around. For us the location was great and the value was amazing! But it's not right on the lake. We drove south for a daytime to saratoga which was awesome and there are plenty of things to do locally near the lake itself. We recommend this for anyone who likes campground life.Rooms: Rooms were very clean for a camp cabin our cabin was like new!Noteworthy details: Not on water but they have so much to offer! Secure place, relaxing atmosphere but also fun to be had at the dance hall/bar on site. It was really nice long weekend escape!

Just 15 min from Lake George, this campground was a perfect spot to take our family. First the cabins were fully stocked with kitchen utensils and linens. My kids participated in many of the activities available throughout the day, and all the staff was very nice. The pool, playground, restaurant area was very convenient. My kids enjoyed the blowups, especially the water slide. Finally, 2023 has been an extremely wet summer and the beach and tubing area were closed due to flooding, however we didn't even miss it. There was plenty to enjoy without them.Walkability: Paved camo roads great for kids bikes and scooters.Food & drinks: Restaurant on site.

I'll try to be as fair as possible given the fact that this has been an unusually rainy year. Many of the sites here were flooded out and the mosquitoes are intolerable. The campground has a beautiful sports field and the pool and inflatable water slide that the kids went on was more than enough to keep them happy. The sites are tight and the roads very narrow. However despite it all we've had a great time here. You can't beat the location and the management does seem to care about the facilities. Means of communicating through texts is great. We've had excellent cell service and would definitely give it a try again in a dry year.

We just got back from a great stay at the campgrounds. We rented a cabin and the cabin was very clean and cute. It was fully stocked with linens and kitchen supplies. The campground is huge so we rented a golf cart and used our bikes to get around. And we had fun exploring the grounds. The activities were fun for our 5 and 8 year old boys. They had a pirate water balloon battle on wagons, bike riding parade, blow up waterslide, movie night, karaoke and a live music at the bar, arcade, crafts, scavenger hunt and a little pirate skit/play that was fun. The staff was very friendly and seemed to enjoy working there and having fun, compared to some other campgrounds we've been to where the staff seems grumpy. The main lodge/ store has a ton of supplies and great selection. We had quite a bit of rain one day and many campsites were very flooded out, so just keep that in mind when picking a spot (mostly toward the back of the grounds by the pond and beach). We didn't use the beach, as it was very small and not much of a beach, but that didn't bother us. The kids had fun in the pool. The pool says it closes at 6 but they keep it open much later, which is nice. Oh and the food at the restaurant there was surprisingly very good ! We'll definitely be back soon! It was also only 15 min or so from lake George. We will try to request a cabin, if possible, next time, as ours was right by the main lodge, so we felt the traffic was a bit heavier there. Thanks for a great stay!

This is one of our favorite campgrounds (and in our top 5 Thousand Trails locations) and that's saying a lot because we've been on the road full time in our motorhome for over a year. The roads in this campground are a little tight, but ultimately we had no major issues getting our 44' Class A into our site. The playground kept the kids entertained during our entire stay and there are plenty of other amenities and activities. We didn't stay long enough to use the pool, but it looked refreshing. The general store was well stocked and had everything that we may have needed. The staff was incredibly friendly, the site was a little smaller than we like but it was level, and the campground itself was well maintained and clean. This is a fairly popular and busy campground, and our site was very close to the playground and the on-site restaurant which made for a louder than usual weekend, but it was nothing too problematic. All six of our kids slept just fine so I guess it wasn't too loud, or they had worn themselves out enough on the playground and activities throughout the day. Either way, we had a great time.

This place is normal a great campground, but this year has been very different. Me and my family have came here 10+ years and this year has been the worst. The staff let 12-14 years old drive around in golf carts, the carts don’t obey any traffic laws nor do they follow the 5mph rule. We were also lied to about 4 times about renting a golf cart, the lady’s there said they can’t reserve a cart. Ok we said and came back about 3-4 hours later to see if one was available, there wasn’t. The thing for us was that we saw them let people drive away in 2-3 carts! Before any of this they had 4-5 carts charging that were couldn’t be rented because of they were “charging” but they have been charging for a 4-5 hours. Anyways this place has changed a lot and it’s sad, but if you have money to spend on everything in the world come stay here.

We had a great weekend here. The cabin rental was great; it was a lot of space and the bed was very comfortable. The bar had a dance party every night, and there is a lot of fun activities to do. Tubing down the river is another great thing to do. Or you can sit around and do absolutely nothing! It's a great summertime place.

Camped as part of thousand trails. They are usually always booked. Wish thousand trails would open up more sites. There was plenty of open availability. Activities for the kids. Structured things for teens, which was amazing. Pool was nice. The "splash" area was transformed to a sandbox, in case you have small children. Dog park was huge. Very large campground. Hoping we can get in next year.Nearby activities: Lake George, six flagsNoteworthy details: Shuttle van to various places in the area.

I have been coming here with my parents since I was a child, over 30 years. Management has changed several times over the years. It is now over priced and over crowded. The sites are not roomy you barely have outdoor living space you are right on top of your neighbors. For as long as we have been coming here in groups might I add we are still unable to request our sites and we were told if we book as a group we could get sites side by side which was a lie. Quiet time hours on the holiday weekend are ridiculous. Quiet time was 11pm on Memorial weekend and at 11:13 security said turn off your lights and stop playing cornhole, both nights. No type of grace can we at least finish our game? It used to be the staff would ride around at night and if you were too loud at your site they would say keep it down or give a warning but this was different. The security staff were nasty. My daughter came in a day after me she was my second car two to a site and the gate staff stopped her even with her having the gate code and accused her of trying to sneak in the park again we were a large group. I would not recommend this campground for large families it has become way too commercial. We will be finding somewhere else to spend our holidays in the woods.

We love this campground. It was so nice. It has a Arcade, on site mini golf, Shuffle board, basket ball court. 2 pools. They play music every nite which includes Karaoke, 2 pools and very happy staff. Clean bathrooms, huge movie screen. Would recommendNearby activities: Lots to check out in lake George. There is a MiniHaHa boat ride, Wax museum with halloween like displays. Shopping shops , of course good restaurants, ice cream shops, fudge shops and the list goes on

We stayed this past week in a 6 person cabin with a loft with our 1yr old and 2 dogs. The cabin was spotless (thanks Linda!!), the staff was super friendly, the dog park is enormous, and there was plenty to do at the campground (and even more had we stayed into MDW). It did yet very busy very quickly Thursday and Friday as we were leaving but all in all we had a great time and would definitely go back again.

We had a really nice cabin and enjoyed our stay. The cabin was roomy and very clean.. The staff was amazing.. very helpful and friendly.. My only concern was that there were so many small children riding without helmets and teenagers driving golf carts..Noteworthy details: Fully stocked with utensils, pots, pans and dishes.. Unlike most they provided clean sheets and comforters. It was impressive... Very clean.,

Nice camp ground and cabins. Store was very convenient. Golf carts way too expensive but nice to have available. All facilities seemed in good working order and clean. Decent did park but I didn't bring my pup on this vacation. Playground was fun but minimal shade. Unfortunately, I didn't see much wildlife and sickly birds. I get more wildlife in my backyard. I would return in the future but I'll probably explore a different area.Playground: Plastic slides and many places to crawl and climb. Soft sand for a gentle fall.Restrooms: Clean and well stocked.Dog-friendliness: Nice dog park and agility toys.

We come up serveral times a year. I am sad to say this is most likely the last time. As a business owner I would be ashamed to have somebody Iike Manda working in my establishment. Whenwe walked up to the desk to inquire about becoming seasonal members she told us nobody was there to help us. She didn’t give us any information on how to become seasonals or who could help us. She was very cold and rude. The restaurant bar has gone down hill. We got buffalo chicken wraps, they are almost as small as a McDonald’s snack wrap. For $13 I would expect more than one small piece of chicken. The boy behind the counter didn’t even know we were there when we ordered because he was hiding on his phone. A older gentleman told him we were standing there. While waiting for the food we decided to get a drink. The lady had her four kids at the bar. She didn’t pay us know mind didn’t ask if we needed anything just leaned on the bar top talking with her kids. Also they harp on you when you rent golf carts that nobody without a valid drivers license can drive the golf carts. Meanwhile we were almost tboned not once but twice by teenagers on golf carts. They get about 5-7 teenagers on the golf carts jam music and drive around all day/night. The only positive thing I can say is the activities department is very good! My kids especially love Bev. She made the kids feel very welcomed to the activities and crafts. She went above and beyond.

We found ourselves having to cut our RV return road trip short due to a family medical emergency. Lake George Escape campground was VERY ACCOMMODATING in graciously allowing us to cancel two of our reserved nights during the Fourth of July Weekend 2023. We experienced absolutely amazing face-to-face customer service as we explained our situation. I can't rate the Room option as we had our own RV. This is a campground we definitely want to return to, perhaps even in the fall for a change. We can't thank you enough for your understanding and concern on such a big weekend.

Stayed in a cabin for the weekend with the wife and 2 kids. The kids absolutely LOVED the loft. Two separate sections, one for each of them. When we got to our cabin, it was spotless. You can tell it was pretty new, maybe a year old, and very well maintained. The camp store is well stocked with essentials and good selection of souvenirs. We didn't use the pool, as it was a bit crowded. But we did go swimming in the river, which was nice. A little cool being June, but not bad.Went on Father's Day weekend, and the campground was pretty full. But everyone was pretty respectful and we had no problems with noise, as everyone seemed to abide by the quiet hours.Between the cleanliness, the amenities and the proximity to Lake George Village, it was fantastic. We're already planning a week long stay next year.

This campground is the best in all of NY. First, the staff and most especially the Manager, Pete was absolutely amazing!! Our truck broke down towing our camper on the way to the campground and Pete went above and beyond to help us out. He is such an asset to this campground!! The entire front desk staff was also wonderful to work with. The campground is everything you could want. Upgraded electric, well maintained, campers are friendly, ride bikes, rent a golf cart, relax and read a book at the pool, there’s a beach to float along the River or rent brand new kayaks and paddle! There’s a DJ and dancing and fun themes, craft time, organized sports, giant outdoor movie screen with movies every night, a huge water slide and obstacle course, a great restaurant, the camp store is stocked with anything you could need. The sunsets are amazing in the field followed by the most perfect view of the stars at night. There’s also little frogs to catch and release. The staff treat you like family and I want to say thank you to all of them for turning our upside down beginning right side up! We extended our stay twice. You won’t regret it - worth every single penny!!

This should be a 5 star review.. There were a few events that happened this year on my family vacation that changed my mind. I have been coming to Lake George escape campground for over 20 years with my family. I have been coming consistently from 2002 without missing a year. While the campground has changed many hands we've still always enjoyed the atmosphere and spending time with our family. This year was a bit disappointing however. The prices of the campground have doubled since last year and as a tent camper it seems a little ridiculous to be paying the same price as an RV camper. It seems that if this campground wants to be more upscale and charge higher prices the condition of the facilities and services to the customers should be better. The bathrooms were left filthy and not cleaned for multiple days in a row, porta potties were cleaned once a week, When they needed to be done at least twice a week. While the food at the cafe is delicious, the Amount of food served in an order was directly in contradiction with what the owner in person told us it should be. Perhaps one of the most annoying parts was the fact that that teenagers driving around like lunatics on golf carts at night. There were several times I almost got hit by because they were flying and didn't see me n the dark. This is a huge concern for the safety of children trying to ride their bikes or even walking in the campground. I would love to give a 5 star rating because I really do enjoy my time with family at this campground, however, this year was one of the most disappointing.

My family has been coming here for the last eight years and have enjoyed our experiences. The staff are welcoming and the facilities are kept up nicely. There is much to do for the kids as well as adults. This year we decided to obtain a seasonal site; even though the season was roughly already two weeks underway, the staff were very accommodating to get us the site we wanted. Very appreciative of Jeff, he was fantastic at helping us out in locking in the site we picked. Bob head of maintenance is awesome as well; he stopped by and helped us with an RV issue.

Campground is okay. Management is kind of useless. Moved our sites at the last minute. We were a group of 3 sites, 2 were together, the third was quite a ways away. The constant reply was we do not guarantee sites.Cell service is none existent and no Wi-Fi. Pull thru site we were given, pointless, I had to back out of the site. A lot of the sites are very narrow. One motor home that came in while we were there actually crashed into a tree while trying to get into their assigned site.

Great staff. Booked reservation back in July for a week at the end of September through first part of October. When signing into the campground the desk person asked what size our RV was. I had given that info when making the reservation but I told her. She responded that our rig would not fit in that spot. She rearranged some other reservations and found a good spot for us. This is a large campground and I would bet most desk people at other campgrounds would not know what RVs would fit where unless someone came back to the office to tell them of the issue. I was very impressed with the woman that assisted us at check in to avoid an issue for us.

Seems like a nice place. We stayed at their other location about 7 miles away but we did drive back to this one. Everybody was super friendly and nice. It’s a little crowded for me however, they had a lot more activities to do than the one that I was at.

Many offerings to make this a perfect campground for your family. There are tons of campsites of different sizes and layouts, we were thrilled with our final site by the water. The cleverly named signage in the back of the campground is very difficult to see as it's very dark if you're out at night, we heard they're working on some changes with that which will be helpful. So many activities to do together, they should be proud of their hard work! The pool felt great, they could use a second one to accomodate all their swimmers. We counted 52 on, 22 sitting around the edge with get in and oodles laying on chairs. Great number of chairs!!! First ever complication checking in at a Thousand Trails for our stay... we're still scratching our heads! Very nice location. Recommended!Playground: Lots of equipment, wife spaces to run... big inflatable outdoor movie each night!Restrooms: Didn't use showers or restroom except at the pool. We could tell it had been a very busy weekend... it could have been mopped more often to keep it from being slippery... but understandable with the large amount of campers in the pool at one time.

Stayed for a few days first week of August. Place is great. The cabin was very nice and clean..stocked with any dishes you might need and linens. The staff was all very friendly and informative when asked questions. Plenty of activities for the kids to do. Very busy..but didn't feel like I was tripping over people. Will definitely be planning another trip again.

Amazing time! So many amenities at this place for kids and family! Pool, volleyball, mini golf, arcade, and so on. Definitely worth the stay! The cabin has everything you need from kitchen utensils to bathroom towels and all. The maintenance man Tim was extremely friendly along with Donna the clerk! I will definitely be returning for another great weekend at these campgrounds ⛺️
