One of my most favorite stores in the world. It's like an EMS or REI but family owned. Anything that I've ever gone in for there has always plenty of a selection. Their shoe department is second to none in the area (aside from Montanos, which is just shoes). Just all around love for Kenco

Great selection. So helpful- spent over an hour with us helping us select a kayak and install it on our car with appropriate gear. Took the time to make sure we understood how to do everything on our own since we are new to it. Super nice about letting our dog hang out while we did the install. DAVE IS THE BEST!!!

Bought my kayak here. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable about not only kayaks, but the right rack system for my car. Superb customer service and support. Always a pleasure to browse the store. Definitely a cut above chain stores. If you love the outdoors, this is the store you should consider first.

Fairly high-priced, but carrying all the "right" gear from higher-end manufacturers for the fashion-conscious outdoors folks from the city. Pretty much the only game available upon entering the Catskills from the Kingston area.

Came in looking for a Xero Alpine boot to which I was recommended another company similar to (Ultra). I spoke with a young blonde woman who helped me find narrow boot/tied muck boot alternatives. I spent about 20 minutes stuck between a size 8 or 9 and Lola saved the day! She suggested I try an orthotic which made all the difference. Thanks to Lola and that young blonde woman, I'm ready for the snow! 10/10 service, I love Kenco and it's kind and helpful associates!

I'm glad I found Kenco. Kenco has a great team of friendly, and fun, and a supportive sales staff who know their stuff. Watch out for Kenco's unannounced specials, because there's some phenomenal savings there (they also do DO price matching ... so if you find it cheaper, I'd buy it from the place that supports their products.Kenco's Fishing department is AWESOME. Kenco's resident guide and fly fishing expert, Randy German gives a fly tying class on Friday nights and a Fly Fishing 101 on Saturday mornings, that is absolutely jam packed with knowledge of the local history of the catskill streams (the birthplace of fly fishing), fly hatches, Entomology (study of bugs .. if ya wanna fish for local trout, you gotta know your bugs) ... I learned how to fly cast in Kenco's outdoor pond, tied my first ever Catskill flies, I really had a blast. Now, here's the kicker. The classes are 15 bucks. Other trout outfitters and stores .. will charge you hundreds (sometimes, yep, not going to mention the name here ... even thousands).And again, I can't recommend it heartedly enough .. If you ever had the slightest inkling you'd like to knock another thing off your bucket list and give flying fishing .. take an introductory lesson with Randy German .... His passion for the sport will win you over.

Liked the store very much. Staff was extremely helpful. Gentleman gave an excellent demonstration and explanation of paddle size. If you're gearing up to go kayaking I definitely recommend you stop in. Not everything pictured was purchased there, but the kayak and paddle were.

Kenco has great selections and good quality. I purchased these Italian made hiking boots and love them. Basically no break-in and extremely comfortable. I like a boot that doesn't bend at the sole and these are stiff.Even got a veterans discount . Thank You !!

Love Kenco. Will make the trip out here a few times a year to pick up things I can't find at REI or Eastern Mountain Sports. Prices are reasonable. Also have a room with tons of sale/markdown items. Absolutly worth the trip.

I had an amazing experience here. Dave was so helpful and took the time to go through every piece of gear I needed thoroughly and demonstrated/taught me how to use it. He was so knowledgable; it was amazing. I am super grateful for all the new gear I was able to get there and for how helpful and friendly everyone was at the store. 10/10. would recommend and will absolutely be getting a lot of my gear there from now on.

Great place if you're looking for kayak's, clothing, hiking shoes. They also have a nice fishing area. I found a small Carhartt back pack for those must have things when hiking, kayaking or just out and about for the day.

Definitely on the pricey side, but you will pay money for high-quality outdoor clothing knives and other of their vast accessories. I love that they sell bows and arrows, and you can try out their firing range!

Wow! This place is awesome! What a selection! They are definitely high end so costs more of course but the quality is very apparent. Awesome brands like Patagonia, Filson, Carhartt, Osprey, Marmot, etc. You can definitely do some serious damage to your wallet it this place but certainly top quality clothing and gear.

Ripped my ski pants and needed a repair patch. I called to see if they had the necessary repair tape and even though they were closing in ten minutes the salesman was kind enough to wait an extra 25 minutes after closing for me to arrive to help me out and to show me how to use it. Wish I had time to look around the store. It looked very nice. Best customer service.

Dave at the archery department gave us an excellent experience. So patient and knowledgeable. We did the archery challenge and had so much fun that we then bought a bow and arrow package. He was a great teacher.. we will definitely go back. Beautiful store. Very well stocked. Love the upstairs.

Went in to Kenco over the weekend to purchase a kayak. All of the staff I encountered were knowledgeable and professional. They have a large selection of kayaks especially fishing kayaks. (Most stores in the area don’t!!) Prices are fair and reasonable for the high quality of products they sell.

Excellent merchandise, superior sales staff and reasonable prices. Everything in stock is high quality products; you get what you pay for. The clothes last far longer than cheaper knock-off brands and they are tailored to meet your needs, not one-size fits all. Kudos to Bill and all the employees, we love stopping by whether it seasonal clothes or just work gloves. We also purchased kayaks, having so much fun! We’ll be back soon!

This store has been in business for decades, with a great selection of outdoor clothing and gear, including kayaks and kayak-related accessories. I have shopped here for decades. The staff is always friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. If you want to support local businesses, this is definitely one of the best ones.
