I will start off by saying that this is a very different review for me. As I didn't even visit the inside of this Dollar General. So the inside could possibly be better than the rating I gave this dollar General.I pulled in on a weekday in July 2023. I can't remember many places that were an operating business that were this filthy outside. We pulled in the parking lot and just looked around. Everywhere we looked was trash and such, large and small. We could tell by looking from our vehicle that this filth didn't just happen that day.It was just not what we have come to expect from Dollar General. We have been to quite a few and like these little stores that serve their communities. But this was different. We talked about the conditions just in the parking lot. Were figured if the outside was allowed to be that filthy without a least an attempt at a remedy, then we figured the inside probably would also be a disappointment.As such, we turned around. and went elsewhere for the items we came for. Maybe the inside was better, or even nice. But after experiencing the outside, we decided against even giving them a chance. You would think the folks who live in the area, frequent the store, and worse yet, work there, would have at least a little pride in the community and this store. Instead it came across as a place we didn't want to visit. What a shame.I don't like giving one star unless absolutely necessary. As such, this Dollar General was allowed two stars. Maybe the store was really nice inside. Since I do not know for sure, I gave them two stars just in case.

This store was truly disgustingly filthy. The floors look as if they are never cleaned. There are remnants of spills never cleaned up. Nearly all the aisles are clogged with dollies of boxes of merchandise that are waiting to be unloaded. There are a ton of cigarette butts right outside the door. It's gross.

Not a good place to shop. The workers seem pretty rude and have a attitude. But the store itself does have some good products at a decent price. Sadly I had an bad experience where I never will set foot in this store again.

I mostly go here because it is close and has a good choice of basic stuff you need. Not having transportation makes it convenient. Prices aren't too bad.Never organized. Most of the time you can't walk through the isles. Always carts of stuff and boxes of items that need to be stocked. Always can use a good cleaning. Their stock is always changing. They seem to not to get the get the items that most of the customers keep requesting.They don't really enforce the use of masks 😒

Every time I go in here someone messes up my transaction and then gives me an attitude when asked to fix it. Also had a cashier offer to help me insert a very personal item. Disgusting. Store is story. No stock. Poorly managed. Just don't.

Not exactly organized, but much better this time around from my last visit . I imagine New management took over so I'm giving 3 stars for much improved appearances. But checking out people needs to improve, people should be helpful and friendly in customer service, not to mention move quickly.

Needs to be condemned, shut down and cleaned! Replace all the employees and start fresh! What a dump!Be prepared to wait in line for a long time. Not to mention they never have the most simple things in stock, such as gallons of water or trash bags. The shelves are always empty, the floors looks gross, and the employees aren’t the most friendly. Store looks a complete disaster! Needs a new manager who can maintain the setting of a busy store in a busy location.

Went on a Tuesday wasn't super busy but it was two days before Thanksgiving.I was looking for a very specific item which I found in two minutes and they had more than one which worked out great.Downside..i was thirsty and I do not drink soda.There wasn't a single noncarbonated low sugar/sugar free beverage in a cooler or shelf.I don't understand how a national chain can only offer soda and energy drinks.Bummer, I got a water but I had a sweet tooth.They had one dollar pouches of cashews which is a great deal.Overall decent experience.I'll go back again.

Great prices, good selection...customer service is a little slow, but hey, they have to keep down overhead. It's the same as any Walmart or Dollar General I've ever been to. If I'm in the area (I usually travel on foot) it's definitely my choice of places to shop. Actually, the last time I was there, customer service was as quick and good as anywhere.

I had a very satisfactory shopping experience at Dollar General this afternoon. I went into the store with a specific item in mind.. And I was in a hurry!! The young woman, who was also the cashier, helped me find exactly what I needed, rung me up, and I was on my way. I will definitely shop there again!!! She was very helpful and very pleasant!!! I like Dollar General I love coming here they always have a variety of products and they are all low-priced. All the Dollar General stores are similar so when you walk in you know where to find everything. They have a little bit of everything. It is cute to find small packages that are made especially for their brand.

This place is ghetto to the extreme. What an embarrassment to kingston .The shelves are never stocked the isles are blocked with carts full of merchandise buy the shelves are empty. The only thing they stock is the food stamps hot list items .The employees are so lazy including the management whitch obviously they're is none.so sad.

Just went in to get milk and cleaning suppliesI was a former assistant manager at this exact location. I had the new manager because apparently Bill is no longer there approach and demand I give her my bags including my pocket book which contained my tax refund in cash. I refused to give her my bag as I had over a thousand dollars in cash and told her she had no right to demand that. She then proceeded to tell me she was going to search my bags. I told her once again it is illegal to search someones personal property. I then asked her what this was about and she stated a woman told her I put something in my bag. And that she had the audio on camera. Cctv does not have audio. At this point I told her to call the police department and once it was proven that I did not take anything that she would be terminated and I would sue the company. She now refused to call the police department or to review said photage with me. So I walked right beside her up to the register where I know the cameras are and I opened up all my bags dumped them into the cart shook them out and asked her to look and tell me where I had anything on my person. There was absolutely nothing in my bags. I contacted corporate. My civil and personal rights were violated tonight. I called her bluff as I knew she was lying and proved on camera that nothing was in my bags. If this is not satisfactorily resolved I will contact my attorney.

This store was stocked with everything I needed, and a few things that maybe I didn't need, but I got them anyway! Super friendly cashier! A great convenience or me and close to my job!

Bought a cork screw that didn't work. Long line. Friendly cashier, strange that there was only one on duty. Store is not aesthetically pleasing. The shelves touch the ceiling creating the perception that one is running around in a maze.

Love dollar general, but if possible go to Lake Katrine. This store is filthy & impossible to navigate with a cart. However, they are trying to clean it up since the city closed it down.

The employees here are mad dope, I just found out they went without a manager for mad months and the regular staff were able to hold down the fort without issue. And it's a dollar general so there's mad cheap stuff and not much to complain about as usual

went to this dollar general by a accident but I wasn't disappointed. They had a clearance aisle with awesome stuff that I could afford on a budget for a friend as a big gift full of little gifts. She loved it!

If I could put no stars I would.. this store is dirty and disgusting every time I go in there.. I try to avoid going in there as much as possible. Most of the time I drive the extra 5 minutes and go to the port Ewen branch that store isn’t the best either but better then the Kingston sight.. store should be shut down that’s how bad it is

This Dollar General is poorly managed. It was filthy inside and out. The shelves are never fully stocked and there is always product carts clogging up the isles. I realize this is a fairly busy location, but there is no excuse for the lack of care.

Lots of popular products, name brand items and really good pricesStaff is helpful and friendly. They go the extra mile to help you out with finding things. Good parking lot, quick in and out. I shop here often.

DG is affordable and what one location has you can usually find at another. However some items run out very quickly and arent restocked frequently enough. Specifically I like the cotton work gloves with rubber nibs that come 3 to a pack for about $3. They always run out very quickly of those.

I fine the store on foxall Ave I Kingston NY needs to do something about the putting invator on the shelf so you can move around and not have to move cart's to get to the shelfs and it could use a good cleaning it does a good business just need help

A perfect quick stop. Most staples and select groceries and household. Plus, some clothing, most household needs, greeting cards, school supplies, etc. TOILET PAPER, bath supplies. And a lot more.

Stores dirty,the employees are depressing and move like snail, there's always a huge line and only one cashier mean while other person or manager just lally gagging some where in store. I wish they would shut it down it's so terrifying.

The foxhall ave store is dirty and disgusting and all staff their should be fired and replaced. The store on route 28 in Hurley is 1000 times better and is always stocked
