I am so disappointed in this store. I have been coming here for over a year for live feed. They constantly do not have pinkies, and their customer service sucks. I have to drive 20 minutes to get to this store and on several occasions it has been closed during normal hours. I waste my gas and my time to pull up to the store for some sign to be outside to say they’re closed or for the doors to be lock with no warning. They will close for days on end at the most random times. That is no way to run a business, my snakes are on a time feeding schedule and I feel bad that I can’t feed them consistently because of this store. Not to mention that the inside of the store is very run down and dirty. Cob webs are collecting on the shelves and the piles of dirt collecting around the store are horrendous. I will never be bringing my business back here. Instead I rather make the long hour trip to pet goods in Poughkeepsie. Where it is clean and open during normal hours.

This is a family owned business, ran by a wonderful couple. They have a very good inventory and are happy to help you find whatever you need. If you need help loading the heavier items they will cheerfully load your car. I go there for a wide range of items including snake bedding, mice, hen bedding, hen feed, bird seed, dog food and so on. And of course there is the awesome collection of fish.

The two people that own the store are not friendly at all and actually were hostile and made the experienc unpleasant and negative. I purchased an animal from them and it died only two weeks later and was rather sickly not too long after I brought it home. i have vast experience with this animal and i am am sure it had some sort of contsgeous respiratory disease. Later when I shared my story with friends they also share their own stories about unfriendly encounters with the owners. The store is also very dirty and grungy and the animals are not kept in good conditions which is of great cause for concern for me.

Best store going. Caral and Marge are the best pet store people in the area. They have a life time of knowledge and are honest and truthful. They also care about animals with a deep passion. They will not let you leave with an animal that they think is not a good fit for you. They also are very knowledgable towards pet issues and resolving them when there are not vets in the area for snakes turtles and other exotic animals

This place gets its one star for being the only place around that has a wide variety of live feeders for exotics. Beyond that, filthy and rude are the first two words that come to mind. I have been getting my feeders here for the past 2 years because I didn't have a better option. As much as I want to support a local exotic pet business over big box stores, I will not be going back, and will now have to go all the way to Poughkeepsie for my pets needs. The store is so beyond filthy its hard to truly describe. Mold coming through the ceiling in the fish room, half the store covered in bird seed and feces, a half inch of dust covering every surface... My wife refuses to even stop in to pick up crickets for me because the place skeeves her out. There are usually numerous dead fish floating in tanks. The reptiles are kept in horrendous conditions in a little room behind closed doors. The birds and rats are frequently sold with respiratory disease. I have personally overheard them giving dangerously incorrect advice to people with sick exotic pets, and telling them that there are no good exotics vets in the area which is false. The straw that broke the camels back though is how rude the owners are. I don't need to be yelled at like a child when you are the one that made a mistake. My advice is to steer clear.

Just take the hour trip to The Pet Stop in Newburgh! George will show what a real and careful pet store owner looks like!!BUYERS BEWARE! UNLESS YOU HAVE EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE OF THE ANIMALS YOU'RE BUYING, DON'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR THEIR ANIMALS!This place is just absolutely awful. There is so little integrity and respect associated with this place that I would much rather drive an hour to Newburgh to see George at the Pet Stop!My list of grievances with this store would take all day to type out. It is absolutely disgusting in that store, its dirty, smells terrible, and dead animals are not a rare sight!Their stock is inconsistent, the old hag that owns the store is rude and beyond nasty. They sell extremely questionable animals, such as Dyed African Clawed Frogs (labeled as a "candy frog") and once I bought 15 ghost shrimp that ALL died within 6 hours of coming to my house (tank was fully cycled and housing a very water - sensitive species. ) If 2 or 3 were lost, or eaten, not a big deal, but 15 completely whole, dead shrimp is horrendous!!!!Put simply, Brier pet feed does NOT CARE about their animals or their customers. I have watched this store go from a lovely and beautifully vibrant place to shop for new pets, into a worn - down, dusty, nasty, unfriendly place to be within the last 15 years.I wouldn't buy water conditioner from this place, let alone live animals and feeders. Almost every animal I've bought there has died or I have been misinformed about their care. I've had 10x better luck with the health of my animals at Petsmart and Petco.

This is NOT petsmart! Thank goodness!This place is all about healthy fish. They have gallons and gallons of fish and the variety is awesome. Yes their floors can be wet around the fish tanks, there is white water salt scale on their tank tops, and their fish tank area is plain and very industrial, but their water is clean, they have a super duper filtration system, and their fish are super healthy. Top top it off they are very knowledgable.They have aquarium plants, awesome fresh water and salt water fish. We always go to them for questions and they are no-nonsense and not about sales. I've asked them questions on issues and they don't ever take me to a product, they tell me how to deal with it. If i ask them for product recommendations, they always undersell and say to try little by little. They don't load me up with stuff.They have quality dog food varieties, cat supplies, some birds and bird items, and lots of cools supplies for reptiles and aquariums like real rocks, sand, high end dog treats, plant growing soil, coral and much more.I thought these folks wouldn't be able to have pets at home, but they are owners of all types of animals and in fact one of the owners is a falconer. They aren't there for a PT gig.They know their stuff. We never go to petsmart unless these guys are closed and we need to get some meds asap. For fish, we only get them here.
