Visited after going hiking in Minnewaska State Park. They had several unique flavors at a very reasonable price. Service was quick and helpful. They have a cute area to sit and enjoy your ice cream. I would definitely recommend stopping buy on your trips upstate

BETTER THAN CHERRIES. <— you heard me.That could be the whole review, BUT I’ll share a few more details:• plenty of easy in and out parking• cute seating area with shade• really cream soft serve (I have a friend that works for Gillette and he said they have 4% more milk fat in their ice cream which makes it creamier than others!)• friendly staff• fun dairy free dole whip selections (fruity and refreshing) and one dairy free ice cream of the dayThe specialty dipped waffles cones are amazing, but a little too much for a regular size ice cream. You need to come with a huge sweet tooth for those, but great selection.Also - very reasonably priced IMO - the first time I went, I paid for 7 people and it was $26.

Cute little ice cream shop that had plenty of options. It was really good because it was homemade and there were seating options outside but there is no inside so you have to make it do.

We travel full time and stopping by local ice cream shops is one of our favorite things to do. Sleeping Giant did not disappoint. Yummy ice cream, friendly service and a doggy approved pup cup. Definitely a treat!

I’m a bit of a purist. The soft serve was a bit heavy and thick for my taste- so I wasn’t interested in their big menu board of syrup flavors that they mix in. The ice cream is delicious and they have a variety of flavors. It’s a nice place to hang out, plenty of outdoor space for a nice day. Compared to other local ice cream shops, this one is pretty expensive as well.

We're local and we won't go again. For everyone who Googles "ice cream near me" when they're at Minnewaska, go elsewhere. The portions are ridiculously small. We asked if this really was two scoops and we're told "that's just how we do it." AVOID!

Great place. As a vegan I Love the non dairy option, plus great ice cream flavor choices for others. Reasonably priced and very clean!! Nice staff. Great addition to K Town :)

It is ok, it will do. The service is a little slow, and they are overpriced. It was not that busy, and our order came out separate from each other. The setup is cute for kids.

We love the icecream here - it’s one of our regular spots - the staff are super friendly and the icecream is delicious! Bobby has a beautiful garden/seating area in which you can take a seat, enjoy the beautiful flowers and enjoy your icecream :)

Fine. Not sure why it took 7-8 minutes for one medium cup of ice cream with no toppings. Ice cream was decent, place was clean. But no reason for the amount of time they took to get ice cream to customers with not much of a line, and like 4 people working.Oh not sure what the people complaining about portion sizes were talking about. They were reasonable.

Writing to the owners about the terribly toxic and chemically based ingredients they are feeding children. Praying the good will that appears to be the business model results is some meaningful change that shows the ownership cares about food and quality and takes redemptive steps to providing actual ice cream.

Excellent (Gillette) hard ice cream and a huge selection. One star for price VS quantity. $6 for “large” cone that I would barely consider a medium. I felt cheated. If you go down the road to Cherry’s you can get Gillette Hard Ice Cream for $4 single/small that is larger than Sleeping Giant’s large!

We got double scoops in chocolate dipped waffle cones. Mine was pistachio on bottom and strawberry on top. The pistachio was excellent, full of actual pistachios and not bits of almond filler. The strawberry was a bit disappointing, lacking any whole pieces of fruit and not much flavor. My wife got death by chicolate and butter pecan, both of which she liked, especially the butter pecan. Would recommend, and hopefully we will be back (we're full time travelers).

Soft serve peanut butter flavor was good. Boyfriend got the banana split. He did not enjoy it as much. Hit or miss, employees were super nice.
