The doctors and staff at Round out Valley vets are incredible.My 6 year old kitty had to have her back leg removed due to a tumor that showed up in August. I thought it was just an abscess nope it's a tumor. the doctor did an amazing job on her amputation and everyone reassured me Mini would get along just fine on 3 legs .I want to thank everyone there for all their hard work especially DrLaux

Easy and fast to schedule an appointment, everyone was very friendly and informative (front desk, nurses, doc), and the doctor took the time to explain things to me AND he helped the nurse help my dog. I'll definitely be back!

Dr Laux is my favorite vet ever. Patient, kind, knowledgeable. Respectful of my POV (I tend to lean towards less medical treatments rather than more) and with clear answers to my questions. She clearly cares about her patients and so is her team. She has done right by my previous dog and gave him an extra two months (he passed at 17). And just gave my newly adopted pup a thorough health check up without souring him on future vet visits. Highly recommended!

I’ve been with this vet for 25 years ! So before he became Rondout valley veterinary associate! When he had a small tiny building ! I’ve bought all my loves to him and he’s a great vet ! I’ll never take that away from him ! He even became a family friend ! But he sold out his practice got cranky ! Sold out to a horrible vet dr loux ! She is out to brow beat you ! And she literally has no compassion for your pets ! This practice isn’t what it once was ! So I bought my 15 year old cat there last week and had an appointment with him ! He called out sick and I seen her ! (This isn’t the first negative experience with her ) but she basically was cold while examining my cat ! Doesn’t calm her doesn’t talk to her ! Very mechanical! No compassion! Then gave me a hard time as I was leaving bc I wanted to her to wait till morning to hit my card up ! She publicly humiliated me in front of other clients !!!! I have been there 25 years never not paid my bills ! In fact they get 300 easy per month from me for my very sick allergic dog ! So I caved paid the service on my credit card and when calling them to reschedule an allergy shot appointment for my dog that I mixed up they told me to take my records and go ! Unbelievable! She kept telling me I don’t understand the situation! Well I understand this they have no loyalties!!! Don’t matter who you are apparently! Dr hartilious has checked out !

Dr Hartelius was amazing with our cats. And my daughter as well! He engaged with her and let her be part of the exam of the cats. He was gentle and seemed truly genuine with their care. The staff was also kind, considerate and gentle with our cats. I was very pleased with the visit and would recommend them to family & friends.

For years our dog Annabelle has suffered with ear problems. Back and forth to the vet many times before we gave up on that office and decided to come here. Best choice we could’ve made for our fur babies. Dr. Laux is caring, skilled and professional. It’s like dealing with a real person like you or I. Dr Laux was able to get Annabelle diagnosed and comfortable. She has helped with other issues and even surgery. I highly recommend this practice. The Drs and techs have true loving kindness toward your animals. Some say prices are a bit high.. I disagree. This practice is worth every cent if you want someone to show kindness toward your pet as you would. Not to mention they’ve been open for this entire pandemic. They too are essential workers and our appreciation is beyond words.

Shondell was wonderful. Professional, caring, knowledable, warm. My dog Pongo came here for physical therapy after two ACL surgeries. He took to her straight away and I enjoyed her company too and saw Pongo make great progress under her care. Dr Hartelius was also wonderful. I felt Pongo was in the best of hands at all times. Everyone I came into contact here was friendly - including in phone calls and in-person checking in. There’s a great warmth in this practice which shines through.

Wonderful! I was worried I wouldn’t find a veterinary office in the area that I like as much as my previous vet, but the folks here are great and Dr. Prescott is really fantastic. She patiently answers all my questions, calls promptly with any new information or instructions, and clearly loves animals. So far the vet techs also seem to be skilled and caring people as well. I’m very relieved to know my guys are in good hands.

They are simply amazing. I can’t say enough about this practice. The entire staff went above and beyond to take care of our dog.We had an emergency situation and our dog had to go into surgery. He swallowed a pacifier and it was lodged in his intestine. Everyone at Rondout Valley Vet took such great care of him before and after the surgery. The team was honest, caring, and presented us with every possible option.Dr. Prescott and the manager Laurel both called me on a Sunday (their day off) to see how his progress was and to check up on his symptoms. It just goes to show they truly care.The cost of the procedure and the after care was expensive (as expected ) but they did whatever they could to keep the costs at a minimum. The estimate was actually way more than the final cost, which I prefer because then there are no surprises. They presented us with a worst case situation so we went in fully aware of what we could end up paying. Happy they kept it way under.We’re not out of the woods yet, in fact this is the first night we have our little guy home with us. He’s resting well right now and we know the next two weeks will be critical for his recovery. I’m not one to write reviews but I’m just so grateful for all of their hard work, kindness and dedication. I had to share my experience.Dr. Prescott was the doctor that initially examined our pup and came up with the plan of action. She was wonderful to work with and helpful. Dr. Laux was the doctor that did the exploratory surgery and removed 6 inches of his intestine. She was great. Dr. Ursitti has been our vet for years and she’s also wonderful. Your in good hands all around.

The absolute worst vet. My first bad experience was when Dr. H was supposed to see my dog at 3pm, the office staff took my dog inside the building for his appointment shortly after 3 (curbside was only option at the time), shortly after my dog was walked into the building with the staff, I see Dr. H walk out the front door and go next door. 35 mins later Dr. H still hasn’t walked back into the building, I called the office and they say they don’t know where the dr is.. Meanwhile my dog is left alone in a room (probably freaking out).. finally Dr. H comes back, takes 5 mins, examines my dog and I’m on my way. 3 months go by and my dog needs to be seen AGAIN for the same issue (chronic ear infection). This time Dr. Loux is seeing my dog, which I’ve told the office on numerous occasions that my animals are NOT to be seen by her under any circumstances because I have heard nothing but terrible things about her.. this time I had an allergy test done for my dog due to chronic ear infections, as well as a thyroid panel. Dr. loux called me with the results of both the allergy and thyroid panel. She only read off a few of my pets allergies, not all (I had to pull teeth just to get the list in writing the next time I was in office), she didn’t tell me one of the things he was allergic to was in his dog food !!She also told me that his thyroid was normal.. after being of no help to get my pets allergies under control or any guidance as to where to go from there, I decided to get a 2nd opinion from another vet. The new vets office tried to get my dogs records transferred over, they only sent 1/2 of the records and not all of the allergen list. My new vet was able to give my guidance as to what to do for my pet I decided to move my other dog over to the new vet as well. This pets records were requested from Rondout valley vet, and they refused to send them. Completely unprofessional and they do not care about your animals, they only care about the money that they can charge you. Would not ever recommend this vet to anyone, stay away at all costs unless you don’t care about your fur babies. It’s no wonder all the veterinarians are leaving this office.

Dr. Prescott was kind, caring and compassionate when I brought my 12 year old sweet cat in for blood work to find out if she had Hyperthyroidism. She knew right away from her fast heart beat and symptoms I told her that this probably would be the diagnosis. She also knew by hearing her breathe through a stuffed up nose that she probably had chronic sinusitis. I have been to other vets who have not been able to tell me this and I feel like this has caused my sweet girl to suffer. She is now on a long term med for this condition and her hyperthyroidism. Dr. Prescott also saved my Mother's cat from dying when he was allergic to a shot he was given. She is a phenomenal Veterinarian and who recommend her and Rondout Valley Veterinary Associates to anyone seeking a vet for their animal.
