The Rooster Comb Inn is a great value and a perfect location for hiking and other adventures in the Adirondacks. The rooms are basic but worked for a recent hiking trip with friends. The AC in the room was wonderful for summertime. The shared bathrooms were not a problem as we were able to use them as needed. The place is clean and a great option when hiking for the weekend and wanting to be closer to the trailheads. We didn't use the shared kitchen much, but it is helpful to have if desired. It was fun to meet and chat with other guests in the evenings. The owners were helpful with getting me connected with an item that I left behind. Thanks for a great stay!Walkability: The location of the inn was perfect to be able to walk to location restaurants and the coffee shop. Great little town.

The Rooster Comb Inn was very clean and the beds were comfortable. It is in a great location if you are wanting to hike in the Adirondacks, we hiked Cascade Mountain and loved it. There's a coffee shop within walking distance called Old Mountain Coffee Co. Magdalena was very helpful and responsive! We arrived late, around 9:30pm and had no issues. We also brought our dog with us and had no issues.

We stayed here for the first night of our honeymoon and just fell in love with it. There were so many thoughtful touches to each room. I loved that even with the shared bathrooms that we had a sink in our room. It was so cozy and peaceful. We want to come back every year, now, but stay a little longer. Today, we’re walking to the Rooster Comb Trail down the road to do before we head out. Thank you for an amazing stay. 💕

The rooms have very solid locks, but the common area is very open to the public. The outside doors seemed to be never locked. This place has a lot of rooms that are rented (7?) I don't see anyway the guest would know who else is really a guest. People showed up and were wandering around. They said they called and were told to just come grab a room. I ended up having to help them find an empty room. The place had a very transient feel to me.The rooms were very clean and I liked the atmosphere of the place, but I woke to find my lunch gone . It would not have really mattered, but I was going on an early hike and had almost no food to bring. I don't recommend keeping anything yummy in the refrigerator or keeping anything not locked up.

I would like to give 5 stars since this lodging was very charming. We loved many things:> Self check-in very easy: you can arrive late>shared bathrooms, and everything was clean>Close to the best coffee (old mountain), the best pie (noon mark) and a very nice grocery store. Also close to many hikes.>many amenities: kitchen, BBQ, etc>owners who seem very niceThat being said, the most important element is sleep and this was problematic. No review seem to mention it, but the church bells rang all through the night making it impossible to sleep (3 rignings at 3 AM, 4 rignings at 4AM, etc). There are usually quiet hours for church bells in other places, but not the case in this village (when we went end september). The lock in our room was also very hard to open sometimes. There was another review documenting the issue, but during the night we were locked in and could not get out. After 20 minutes we succeded to open it, but this was stressful and did not contribute to sleep. Finally, the mattresses were OK but not exceptional.OK for the price, would go again if the church bells do not rign at night.

Very cute inn within minutes of the mountain we hiked (Giant). We did have a small issue which unfortunately happened in the middle of the night (we stayed in Little Porter room). The lock wouldn’t unlock from inside and so for about 20 minutes we were locked in the room. We flipped the lock mechanism back and forth a bunch of times and felt bad that all the clicking and clacking might have been disruptive to other that were trying to sleep but had no choice as nature called. We even went so far as to remove the hinge pins but the door wouldn’t come off that way either. Eventually while the lock was flipped back and forth dozens of times we heard a clunk (vs a click) and the door opened. Hallelujah! While this was a little alarming as we went through the scenarios of how to get out, I would definitely stay here again. I’m sure it was just a fluke. Neither of us got back to sleep for a while since we were kind of heightened. But not the end of the world. We used the kitchen to make a nice breakfast in the am and kind of wish we got there earlier the night before to meet some of the other guests, but by the time we arrived most were in their rooms.

How have I not written a review of Rooster Comb Inn before now?! I've stayed at Rooster Comb Inn *nine* times in the last three years. It's such a welcoming, pleasant place, from the clean and comfortable beds to the great price to the s'mores over the bonfire to the delightful hosts to the fabulous location. Having access to a full kitchen is a bonus. I've stayed with and without kids, and it's been great both ways. And there's usually a friendly dog or two around, too. It's *the* place to stay in the High Peaks.

Wonderful place! Our room suite was very nicely decorated in the Adirondack motive! It was quite cozy! & very clean! Their prices are very reasonable! We would definitely stay there again when we go back up that way! & I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, rustic place to stay! It is pet friendly too! (It only has six rooms upstairs!, so book early if you interested in staying there!)

I stay here every time I visit the High Peaks in the Adirondacks. Nice and cozy rooms with shared bathrooms, kitchen, and common space. Always warm in the winter with a nice fireplace. I like having the kitchen to cook and share stories with other hikers and climbers. The owners and staff are easy going and pleasant to be around. Dog friendly.

most amazingly kind and accommodating couple who run the Inn. We have stayed here on 2 different trips and can't wait to come back finish our 46 high peaks staying with them! Our van broke down and they let us borrow their tools to fix it and shower even after check out times, let us park there over night when we were backpacking! a few rooms have their own bath and some one them you share the bathroom or kitchen. There is also a washer and dryer, and nice deck outside to grill at! nice, clean, and homey!

Stayed in the suite one night and it was great. Going back for 3 nights. Exceeded our expectations. The hosts are friendly, courteous and considerate and the place is rustic yet spotless. Loved the woodburning stove. The other guests were very friendly and we enjoyed a drink together, sharing stories about the Adirondacks. Better than a B&B if you are a restricted diet like we are. Highly recommend.

My children and I stayed here recently in the Rooster Comb suite. We all enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to go back! It’s conveniently located close to several restaurants and shops, although in August you need to make reservations in advance for the restaurants. It was clean and well stocked with toiletries and kitchen basics (coffee pot, coffee and creamer, dishes, etc.) The rooms are furnished with unique, woodsy furniture. They all look very cozy! Our suite had its own bathroom, a sitting room, a mini fridge and coffee pot. The towels were fluffy, unlike many thin, scratchy hotel towel, and there was a variety of shampoos.Although there aren’t any TVs, there are community games and books in the shared kitchen area. My kids noticed the lack of tv, but it didn’t bother them at all. They were excited about the games! (And the WiFi lol)We fixed dinner and ate at the picnic table on the large, back deck while the sun was setting in the mountains. If you’re a hiker looking for a quick, comfy place to crash before/after a hike, this is the place for you! We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Rooster Comb is always so welcoming when visiting the Adirondacks. Private rooms with shared space makes for a social environment with other hikers, learning from some and sharing with others. It's always clean and comfortable, rooms and beds. Great views on the expanded upper porch.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Inn. We were in the Hedge Hog room, and I gotta admit, it was cozy as hell. Staff was very nice, location was perfect for everything we wanted to do, and it’s right next to best coffee place in all the ADKs. Would highly recommend this Inn to anyone looking to get away for a couple of days.

We try to stay here when we’re up in the mountains if it’s not booked up. Comfortable rooms and opportunities to socialize and geek out with other hikers. Close to the high peaks.

I rarely take the time to write reviews, but the Rooster Comb Inn deserves 5 stars in value, location, decor, and especially customer service. My rental car had problems and I was not able to make it for my stay. Magdalena kindly reached out and offered us to stay the next night at no extra cost. Very kind
