It's like walking through time. When visiting this place. Modern and lots of history. Then updated on the ice cream side.. beautiful, fun, relaxing atmosphere...We ordered the flight. Then added hot fudge, marshmallow, whipped cream, and 2 cherries 🍒 and 🌈 sprinkles. Best way to have it your way.To be honest. The 🍌 split only has traditional 3 scoops. Vs. The flight with 4 scoops. Better deal i felt.

We've been W&E customers for years. Bob and Laura had it and it was amazing for a long time. The new owners two years ago bought it and made a bunch of changes. Most have been great- they redid the look, updated the systems, repaired the floor, etc. We wanted to reserve judgment and waited two years to give a review.The good: The ice cream is still great. They got over the initial issues with the recipes and it's pretty much back to where it was. Couple of new flavors. The feel of the store is still old-school but clean and nice, and the owners and staff are very friendly and pleasant.Four stars instead of five, though. That's for two reasons- even though the staff is friendly, it's been pretty inefficient. Having one person working on a Sunday all day seems like a big mistake, especially when there's a long line. Secondly, part of the experience is going and enjoying a cone at the shop, but frequently they're out of things like waffle cones (see staffing) and lemonade (the lemons are old- which seems like an easy fix with a trip to the grocery) which help that experience.We'll still go and recommend people to try it because the ice cream is great. Just wish some small fixes would happen to improve the experience.

Fantastic ice cream, the best that we had while visiting the Adirondacks. The Oh My Heart ice cream was the favorite for our group. Plus they do ice cream flights so that you can try more of their delicious flavors!We got to chat with one of the new owners, who was absolutely lovely, and the baked goods are just as good as the ice cream.Highly recommend taking the time to stop in, you won't be disappointed.

Their baked goods and ice cream are always delicious. I called ahead to make sure they had stuff. The woman I talked to was very polite, friendly an d helpful. When we got there we found the sam e woman I talked to on the phone . She was again very polite and helpful. Cookies and ice cream were delicious too!

With it being Memorial Day weekend, naturally we had to go out for ice cream. Only living about 10-ish minutes away we figured we would go visit Wemple & Edick’s as it’s a staple of the area, especially Sammonsville. Under new ownership it’s even better that they are open now year-round. However the ice cream flavors aren’t the greatest compared to Udderly’s/Summers Best in Johnstown; granted they have soft ice cream as opposed to the Hard-only here. I ordered the Funfetti ice cream flavor they had displayed on the board, and it was so sweet almost to the point it was unbearable to eat. We waited a bit in line (not too awful long) but by the time my family had theirs and was ready to cash out, I didn’t bother to tell the staff that it was too sweet and wanted to get something else in exchange. It tasted like licking pure cane sugar. Don’t get me wrong; the staff is super kind, and they do their best, I can’t fault them at all, and the location is true to its roots which I love, but the ice cream flavors I just can’t get totally behind with its taste and sweetness. I’ll stick with Udderly/Summers best for this year. Sorry.

Great Bakery items & Ice CreamI purchased a cookie tray ice cream and chocolate cream pie.First the cookie were enjoyed by all the guest on Christmas Eve great job old school cookies delicious 😋The chocolate cream pie had great flavor but it was loose like it did not set up properly so when you cut into to it it just oozed out on the plate but it had a good flavor just did not come out like pielastly the ice cream was the hit to all great flavor !!!!Thank you again for all those delicious bakery products made a great ending to my Christmas Eve dinner event

I've lived by the store nearly all my 41 years. There's been a half dozen or so owners from then until now and not much has changed except the new look. The homemade ice cream and cookies are delicious! Beautiful atmosphere and kind people. My kids are carrying on the tradition of being at the store almost every day. So glad to see this staple of our small village still going strong for over a century. If you have not been here you're definitely missing out on one of the best ice cream shops in the northeast!

Such a nice place. First time in took my daughter niece and nephew. The people working are very friendly and welcoming. Lots of different ice cream flavors. Also sell dog treats and older style candies :) will definitely be back! Give it a try when you can. Definitely worth it :)

I have been there several times since the new ownership. I have never had a problem. Their orange pineapple is one of my favorites and seems to the same as I had with the previous owners. Their cookies are very good. I have no complaints at all. I have been going there since the 1950s. My wife and I make it a point to there every year.

You won't find a better ice cream. Made fresh on premises and flàvors include wide range of choices- rum raisin, butter pecan, cocoa raspberry, etc. Some of the usual flavors but more of their own specialty flavor combinations. Fresh baked goods and some other munchies and specialty items as well. Prices are higher but quality is higher as well. Fair portions. Always busy. Steps in front up to a front porch with seats on both sides of entrance. If looking for a country store with homemade ice cream and goodies, this place is where you want to go.

An unbelievably great place to stop for homemade ice cream with unique flavors and an amazing pickup experience. You immediately walk through the doors and feel transported back in time with custom ice cream flavors and an old ice cream parlor feel. Worth the visit give it a shot. Great new look , and service . I am giving it 4 stars because I think the recipe may be different, the ice cream used to be harder and seemed to have more fat content. The ice cream started to melt fairly quickly after I got it, and after discussing it with a couple family members they experienced the same and wondered if something was changed with the ice cream. The favor is still great but the consistency seems different.I’m hoping it’s not changed , that’s what made this place great. It’s changed hands a few times in the last 20 years but the recipe was never different. It’s always been taught by the old owner to the new owners. Will update andgive 5 stars, if this was a fluke of their first opening, or supplies are limit because of the pandemic. The service is still great , and a lot of effort has been made to modernize but keep old fashions of the shop.Update: I have gone a couple times , and something is different. The ice cream seems like it has more sugar and less fat. I don’t know if the process has changed or if adjustments have made to recipe for increase cost in ingredients. This was alway very rich ice cream, and took a lot of effort to even scoop out of the freezer case. I used to go weekly after work. Will update if mistaken .

Absolutely fantastic home made ice cream, waffle cones and baked treats! Plenty of seating across the street. Huge portions, so be careful what you order! I'm a pretty big guy and two scoops in a waffle cone is more than enough. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is super friendly!

I appreciate the family values etc. but wow, they are so incredibly slow at handling customers. You have to pretend like it’s no big deal but I wasted 30 minutes standing in line to get an overpriced $7 pint of s’mores ice cream. But there’s no chocolate in it..just disappointed overall. Summers best is where it’s at
