amazing store! when I bought my danios, they were very supportive of me getting them and caring for them. even though i have a one gallon tank that's pretty small, I only bought two, so its okay! and although my water plant died, the tank was a lot cleaner after i got rid of it! i do have some questions, I'll ask them when i come back for 3 more fish.

Bensons is the go-to for local pet supplies. Staff is kinda hit or miss, but they usually have what you need.Pets are welcome - vet clinic every weekend.

Dropped in to get my Chi his dry food Walked past the parakeets. So disgusted. A bleak glass enclosure. They all looked so depressed. There is NO excuse to not have a proper nurturing environment for them. Despicable. All about the money. I won't go back.

So many cool treats, food and toys to look at. Prices are reasonable and we love the staff, very friendly and knowledgeable. I wish they were closer so I could go whenever I need something. They deliver locally but don't ship and I'm an hour away so I only get to go every so often.

As gross of a mood I was in I am very glad to see a retail shop take such care to ensure proper placement for such small creatures. What ever young woman was working the counter around 3pm on 8-19 deserves at least a pat on the back!

Went in to buy a gerbil for my sons. They sell a gerbil enclosure there MADE FOR GERBILS that has all the accessories. They won’t sell you the gerbil unless you PROMISE to put the gerbil in a 20 gallon “long” style fish tank and you must show them “proof” of ownership of that enclosure otherwise they refuse to sell to you. Does anyone else see the insanity of this? Highly disappointed by their holier-than-thou behavior and dubious ethics in selling gerbil enclosures that they personally feel are unethical to raise a gerbil in. Will take my money to harvey’s or pet smart from now on. I have spent a ton there this year on fish, aquarium supplies, dog food, treats, and medicines. I’m done with them.

They got the Cardinal Tetras I ordered! I purchased 7 but received 6. Tried to call at 8pm, but they closed at 7pm. Will call them in the morning. They are very small. Just a simple mistake. I have been a customer for over 15 yrs. Great establishment. I went back the next day and they gave me the Cardinal Tetra and I purchased 6 more. Again, Great store!

Purchased fish here numerous times and bought tons of frozen food always out of worms, signs have been up for months that fish room is being renovated ?? But nothing ever seems to take place employees say yes it's being renovated when they don't know Im a long time customer at least be honest I think there going out of fish business no one seems to know anything ??

Great experience! Staff is courteous and helpful. I called in to see if they had a product before going and the woman was happily willing to look for me. When I went to the store a day later she remembered my call and was so nice. It's always nice; especially these days, to have courteous and friendly exchanges! The price at Benson's is great and they carry a huge variety of items. They are also willing to order what you need if they don't have it. I highly recommend this store!

The place is very clean and well kept up. the employees that work there seem to be super knowledgeable about everything and able to help you at a moment's notice. I've been there quite a few times looking for specific items and I've never left without what I'm looking for! They are just as good as any Big Box place without a doubt! I recommend this place highly for any of your animal,Aquatic or reptile needs for sure.

We use Benson's for all of our pet needs. The staff is consistently; helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable! Its really nice to get the "I care about your dog" attitude. The quality of stuff there is great as well! Our dog loves her food, which comes in a variety of different flavors, as well as being grain free. I bought a Barrett ball, at the suggestion of an employee. THE best ball I've ever bought for a dog. Some reviews have said that prices are a little high. They are, but only if you are used to buying cheap food and/or toys. Thank you Benson's!!!

I like this pet store but there are a couple of issues that I have. The staff's knowledge of fish and aquatic plants is basic and in some cases very minimal. If you know the difference between male and female fish, you'll want to pay close attention while the staff member is selecting your fish for you. Twice, I've assumed they knew the difference, while they were catching them and I went off looking at other products. Once I got the fish home, I found that the sex I asked for and what I was given was incorrect. This has only happened 3 times.On ' buy 2 fish, get one free Sunday's ' I got charged full price for all fish 4 times. Unfortunately, I've only saved the most recent receipt. When buying plants they have often written the incorrect code on the bag and thus charging more for plants I didn't buy.Their fish tanks are WAY over priced! As an extreme aquarium hobbyist, if you are paying over one dollar a gallon, you are.getting ripped off!One thing I can say is that that staff are so very friendly. They might not know everything they need to know but they are extremely attentive. Oh, and they are one of the very few pet stores that carry sponge filters. Sponge filtering is the most efficient and cost-effective way to filter an aquarium.

The staff that helped us were very friendly and very patient as we had to try on several different harnesses for proper sizes. Although they didnt have exactly what we needed we bought something to accommodate and were given a recommendation as to what we were trying to find. The prices were a bit expensive in general but the staffs sensitivity to our pets issue reasured us in the products & recommendations and we will be back there in the future.

Good selection , good employees,knowledgeable staff. My first review was very positive, it was my first few purchases of fish. My last two purchases were very different. On one visit I purchased two hillstream loaches. I thought the employee was being rough with them, pinning one against the side of the tank with the net and then with her fingers. I released them into my tank and a day and a half later one was dead , the other is doing fine. Yesterday I purchased a clown poach and the employee did the same thing. The fish was dead this morning. The store does stand by their refund policy but it is 50 miles from home, not just around the corner. The wait for service is also long. I think some better employee training would go a long way.

GOOD store, lovely workers I walk in and I feel like they personally know me HOWEVER they need to order double the crickets they get every week and stop being cheap and build another enclosure to put them in. They don’t understand there is no other place to get them locally with Harvey’s closed during covid. I understand the problem with their supplier has been fixed... now just build another enclosure for enough space to house more of them in. Heck I would build it for you.
