For a place in the middle of nowhere, the pizza is amazing. It's the sauce. 💯Would have given 5 stars if the food was completely consistent. A few times in years, I have had bad takeout, or they have forgotten something.

I put in a pretty big order yesterday and everything came out great and fast. We enjoyed it so much the whole family stuffed themselves until discomfort 😂😂. The staff I talked to on the phone where patient and insightful. For a place in the middle of nowhere u nailed it.

Since Marpes became Duncan's, I have ordered garlic parm wings. They were perfect. I think the food may be improving.

This rating is based solely on the quality of Marpe's pizza:I feel like the store's pizza hardly has any business being as good as it is, but it's flippin' excellent. Ranks well amongst the best anywhere in the greater region, let alone in the middle of nowheres. I've probably had it 5 or 6 times now, and it's consistently good, with both a solid plain cheese and quality specialty pizzas like chicken bacon ranch.

Inventory is low and never seems to get stocked. They used to be affordable but not so much anymore. Their food isn't as good as use to be either.

I have been ordering there for about 3 years now. When I first ordered, the food was okay for the only place around us that delivers. The service was nice and slowly became horrible. Price was nice as well as the portions. Now the prices are outrageous along with portion sizes. It's been a while since I've ordered and thought I'd give them another shot. Turns out they’re money hungry. 3 subs, 2 chicken tenders, and an order of fries comes to $68 and some change. That doesn't include tips. When the older woman would pick up it was as if she was trying to rush our order to get us off the phone, she was always rude and very blatant about it. From our house it's about 15 mins to get there. There were multiple times we had to wait an hour 30 just to be told they forgot about our order or delivered it cold. The young driver has forgotten parts of our order and or drinks on multiple occasions. When we call about food missing or the food being made incorrectly we’re told “You’re lying” and end up stuck with what they gave us or rarely try to replace it. One order that really drew the line for us was my daughter’s birthday. We ordered pizza for her party, the box was dented and dirty as if they dropped it and still gave it to us. I do not and will never recommend this place to anyone. This place doesn't even deserve one star, wish I could give zero.

Haven’t been in 6 months was in area figured I’d grab a tavern style pizza. Last time I had 1 it was the best pizza I’d ever had. Big mistake this time. I have never had a worse pizza. Very disappointing. Idk what happened but it was bad.

The food is top notch! The catering is exceptionally well priced and the beer selection is miles beyond what you would expect in such a rural setting.I am a frequent customer and I really love having this place nearby. The people, the prxoimity and the food is all great.And the Pizza is outstanding!

We stopped in today (8/26/20) around 1pm or so and picked up some groceries, some beer, and some pizza slices for lunch. The clerk was a young woman, another woman was baking around the corner , but everyone was super friendly, the pizza was great, the store-spotless. I'd like to try to stop in here more often, just a great place. Thanks!

Ordered food from Marpes. Chicken wings...a burger with pickles...and a steak and cheese sub. They asked how he wanted the steak and cheese, he said what comes on it, they said Peppers and onions. He told them hold the peppers and wanted nacho cheese. Well they put mushrooms on it, and Tyler didnt get his pickles. When we called to try and get this fixed, the people answering were rude and giving us the run around. Will never order from there or shop there again. Horrible business ethic.

A bunch of kids running the store, ordered at 8 was told 30 min so we gave them 45 because they are always behind. We get there and find out they ran out of 6 cut pizza dough and didn't know what to do. So my wife had them make a quesadilla quick, After that comes out @915 we discover my sub was never made either. Service has dropped off horribly.

Marpe's is a locally owned business. Great place for a pizza or sandwich to eat in or to go. Call ahead and it will be ready for you. They have a menu of meals as well as really good home made hot soups in cold weather. Well worth the stop. Gas is also available. Well lighted ample parking and accessible. Give it a try if you are in the area.

Stop letting kids run the place. So disappointed with the food quality. It used to be a great family run business. Will still do business as its convenient and insupport the family but done with ordering food.

come lunch time, gotta stop in and get a slice, always got food and drinks ready to go, we ordered a 24 cut and they cut it funny so we had huge pieces and 18 slices but it was still the same and even after explaining that they offered us a free pizza, we just decided to not go get it for free because they are such nice people and food is always good.

As a little country shop it's fine, but as a takeout/delivery option it needs work. Pizza is ok, wings are tolerable, but the service is usually pretty bad. It's mostly run by teenagers. More often than not, the person who picks up the phone seems personally insulted because I want to order something. Delivery is occasionally later than expected, but a few times I've needed to call to find out the order was incorrectly labeled "for pickup".

I have been ordering from this restaurant since I moved here I was totally disrespected from a young lady who calls herself a manager. I called too let them know we waited and hour and 40 minutes for are food too be delivered and I live not even 5 minutes from the restaurant/store she said it’s because it’s a Friday poor excuse too me hire more drivers then and I also called because I ordered a burger and I wanted no veggies and allergic too onions and off course the burger came with all veggies and onions and second are pizza was cold I explained too her and she pretty much called me a lair more than once by saying it was hard too believe. I’m sry you should never speak too your customers like they are lying my granddaughter wouldn’t eat the pizza now they are replacing everything but they definitely expressed they were not happy about it so I’m sure I will have too wait another hour or more for the correct food I order. I guarantee my money will never be spent on this restaurant/store again I would rather travel an hour before I order anything from them again

So where do we start, we have been ordering from Marpe’s Country store for months now with no problems until now some older women that works there is very rude and disrespectful to the customers. My fiancé order from there and was treated to badly by this older woman telling my fiancé she was ordering our meal wrong then when our order arrived to our home the order was not right so I called the store to explain to the older women that it was not right and was spoke to like a child then was hung up on. If this continues to happen and we keep having bad experiences with this older women we will no longer be giving Marpe’s our services anymore.

what a horrible experience! I guess these people are used to the regulars who come in for their beer and cigarettes. They had next to nothing in the deli case, they said they had cheddar cheese but it wasnt in the case. It seemed like it was a big effort for them to slice the cornbeef. One young woman working behind the counter didnt seem to know what they had for deli meat. Then an older woman came out and she was very rude. She said I " seemed to have a problem" because I asked how much deli meat was in the sandwich. Then she overcharged me for my drink, when I questioned that ,she said that the price in front of the drink must be wrong...Unbelievable!! I told her to forget making me a sandwich. If I could give that place no stars I would.

Over the years, the cost of the food has gone up considerably and quality has greatly decreased. Not even close to being as good as it was when they first opened. Sorry to see that happen.

I live in Johnsonville and go there often, great pizza, great burgers. Staff is super friendly. Also has good deli meats and sides. Really nice store for such a small town.

They never have worms like they say they sell, not this year... Last yr every time I went there the worms were all dead and disgusting looking. The food they serve is 👍 and the icecream is 😋.. But the prices of they're store products... Omg could ya charge any more. Im not one to complain to often but there's a good gripe.
