I brought my 12 year old granddaughter and her friend there today for their first archery lesson. Ryan was incredibly patient and a wonderful teacher, spending a lot of time with each child. They had a great time and I'll definitely be going back there.

This place was the best!As a large group, we had a blast. What made this place unforgettable was the owner/instructor Ryan. His introductory lesson for us novices was full of great advice and invaluable tips that allowed us to wield our bows with confidence. To top it all off, Ryan was super fun and welcoming, making us laugh and learn at the same time. Even though I’d never held a bow before, I was hitting arrows near the bullseye after just one short lesson from Ryan.If you or a group are in the area and looking for a fun and informative archery lesson (or just general outdoors knowledge), definitely give Ryan a look!

Ryan is a great teacher and passionate about archery. The indoor range is wonderful for beginners. Visited with 4 kids, who all fit very comfortably without knocking into each other. Will definitely come back!

I went to TCO yesterday with my 13 year-old son for his second archery lesson, my first. Ryan was a terrific instructor for both of us. He's able to teach form and safety in a way that's both serious and fun at the same time. We learned about the equipment and proper form, and then we had a blast shooting at targets from different ranges. It was a great activity to do with my son. The best thing you can say about a business is whether or not you'll go back. We will definitely go back. Thank you, Ryan.

I purchased an archery lesson for my daughter, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the level of attention and patience that was demonstrated by the staff. Ryan took the time to go over all the safety aspects, fundamentals, as well as helping to instill confidence while still making it very fun for a new shooter. Of course the downside is now my daughter is begging for her own bow, however Ryan was able to assist with this as well. He is ordering her a custom bow in the color of her choice and accessories of her choosing for a very fair price. I would highly recommend the Catskill Outdoorsman to my friends and family or anyone looking for a nice place with friendly and helpful staff to shoot. From never handling a bow to competitive shooters they can help either way.

We took a 1-hour archery class with a group of 8 people. Ryan is a very patient and helpful teacher. He starts with a short explanation of the basics and then lets you shoot all by yourself. We had tons of fun, it's a great activity if you're in the area!

One of those little treasures hidden in America country. Cute store, friendly owner, huge space for archery practicing. Nice selection of country items, hunting accessories and things you might need if in the country. Consider taking a private lesson when back in the area.

I recently took our almost 8 year old son for an archery lesson at The Catskill Outdoorsman. Owner, Ryan was so patient with him, taking the time to help him feel comfortable and confident. We tried our first archery lessons at TCO and we had a great time. The safety training felt like it was geared towards children, but that's not a complaint. If I didn't live in NC I'd be back for sure!P.S. Holly, the dog, was a fantastic companion.

Been twice now. First with my son who wanted to return with his friend. Ryan has created a small community in Jeffersonville through a labor of love which one can only do around here if you can find a way to genuinely serve the multiple diverse needs of locals, vacationers and others in Sullivan county. I've seen so many businesses come and go here in the 12 years my family has lived in North Branch and the ones that survive have genuine honest hardworking caring and open-minded people at the helm and The Catskills Outdoorsman has Ryan and his son and most importantly their friendly black lab and greeter, Holly who takes any nerves away that inexperienced country-sportsman- wanna-bes like me and my son might have initially had walking into any store with hunting as a major theme (we just don't want to kill anything. I can't even take fish out of our pond). Ryan's created something for everyone here and despite differences in the diverse groups of people that congregate in the Catskills, these kinds of businesses are why we keep comming back to this area because they offer something so much more than just a place to buy equipment which we also did of course after taking lessons and using the archery range. They offer a sense of community and connection which I think we actually often forget we all need. By the way, we're pack animals and we've survived through hunting for thousands of years so while I can't kill most living creatures myself I understand and relate to the draw of hunting and mastering a skill like archery through target practice. Keep up the good work. Thanks you guys.

In the area visiting with family for the week. Of course I packed everything we could need in every situation for the kids but failed to pack myself anything warm. I'd been looking for a sweatshirt but had zero luck. Arrived at the Catskill Outdoorsman and sadly the door was locked. From across the street a man shouts that they're closed on Tuesdays but follows up with a but what do you need?Turns out that man was the owner and he opened the store for me and let me buy a sweatshirt. He also provided the other high priority item on our list, a ring pop for my daughter.Turns out the Catskill Outdoorsman is also a gentleman and I truly appreciate his kindness. It looks like they offer LOADS of great options for outdoor fun so give them a try. We will certainly be back when the kids are bigger to try the archery.PS The sweatshirt is REALLY soft and doing its job splendidly!
