We had the best time on our 45 min trail ride! Luna the cat and Lulu the dog greeted us upon arrival. Elinor asked about our riding experience - She was the best! I was so impressed with how she knew every inch of the property and was able to give my gf (a less experienced rider) so much guidance. She gave me opportunities to trot and lope, which is always a treat. We were the only people on our ride, and that’s how Elinor engineers it. It’s hard to find a trail ride that’s safe, affordable, and fun - look no further!

Really nice barn/farm, friendly owner and the horse(all the animals are super friendly and trained). We loved the private tour walking on the trail, and the owner made us feel so safe and taken care of, highly recommended

I had an incredible experience at Bridle Hill Farm in Jeffersonville. We spontaneously booked a reservation that morning by calling their number and leaving a voicemail. Elinor promptly got in touch through text with clear instructions. Confirming our reservation online was a breeze. The ride itself was both effortless and enjoyable, suitable for kids and adults alike. Our horses, Chester and Travis, were not only healthy but also friendly and excellent companions for the hike. We explored the stunning property, meandering through fields and venturing into the woods for some trail hiking. I highly recommend wearing boots, especially after rain, and of course, pants (jeans work perfectly). I’d suggest bringing water for post-ride hydration. This activity was easy to organize and a lot of fun. I highly recommend it!

As first timers, we were nervous. We were guided through the steps and had a great experience. Thank you again :-)

It's hard to choose where to start this review. As soon as we drove into the property, we were nastily greeted by the owner (Eleanor). She yelled across the property questioning why her dog (who was blocking us from parking) was barking. This definitely set the tone for the rest of the experience. We got no formal introduction and were sent off to "meet the horses" after getting our helmets. There was manure everywhere, and it was hard to walk around without stepping into it. The same dog who blocked us at the parking lot was roaming around EATING the manure. Eleanor didn't seem to care.Fast forward to our actual trail, we got no clear instructions on what to do if the horses didn't follow our lead. Eleanor ironically placed the most nervous rider on the most energetic horse... she was amused by the rider's anxiety and worry and laughed it off. She instead was hostile and proceeded to antagonize the rider.Upon returning from the trail, the other half of our group was ready for their turn. To our surprise, she spent most of their tour complaining about the first group. How much more unprofessional can someone be? Especially as the owner. There was no sense of security or confidence from Eleanor and it rubbed off on most of the group. Her rude and aggressive personality ruined the entire experience for us all. We wish we didn't give her the benefit of the doubt after reading the endless reviews complaining about her temperament and character. Those reviews are 100% accurate and valid, which can be confirmed by her gas lighting responses to the honest reviewers.

Our daughter, Aurora, is attending horse camp, it has been a wonderful experience for her, she has learned so much in just a few weeks. Elinor, is incredible with the groups. We travel about an hour for this, so I get to watch the camp unfold, and I am super pleased with our investment. Elinor’s vast experience with horses is apparent, she is constantly teaching as she goes. Elinor, actually taught my daughter how to ride after one lesson and my daughter has been confident on the horses ever since. The activities that the groups do before or after their riding lessons are very educational. I’ve seen them, brush, saddle up horses, help water, and feed along with many other farm chores. Elinor teaches them the names of the riding gear. She guides the children so they independently and confidently care for them. The environment is clean, well manicured and absolutely gorgeous. The horses on this farm are well cared for and very well mannered. We have had a wonderful experience here.

Bridle Hill Farms was exceptional in every way! My boyfriend and I wanted to escape NYC and came to the Catskills for a getaway. Being from the mountains originally, going to this farm and being in nature again was refreshing spiritually and physically. The instructors were helpful and knowledgeable with the horses and made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. The property is gorgeous and the horses are so happy and maintained. Will definitely be coming back! :)

Absolutely Loved it! I rode horse for the first time and picked it up very fast. Elinor Yong is great teacher that provides professional lessonas and training. I was skeptical about the places because of bad reviews but was short on time and gave it a chance unfortunately they did not have appointments time at the day that i came but she texted me 30 min after with tomorrow date and time ready. Was very sweet and nice. Probably the best $120 spent in that area for two. Loved 100% recomend. I’ll be back for sure.

I had never been horseback riding before this, and so I can't truly compare with other experiences, but I had an incredible time at Bridle Hill Farm. As a first timer going on a trail ride, our guide made us comfortable from the get go. You just pop on a horse and she teaches you as you go along. If you're in the area, definitely schedule a trip here.

Made a day-of reservation by calling their number and leaving a voicemail; a text came minutes later and we were able to book, pay and sign waivers via text. The experience was amazing for a family of 4 beginners: 2 adults, a 7 year old and a 5 year old. Elinor was incredibly patient with our nervous kiddos, who had “the best time ever.” I highly recommend for families looking to get a taste of riding. We’ll definitely be back!

Took my two young boys to Bridle Hill Farm. The place is BEAUTIFUL. The horses are extremely gently and very well behaved. My boys have never been on horses before. They are 12 and 13 years old. The place deserves 5 stars. Was a perfect experience. The owner was very kind. My youngest was not used to such a large animal under his legs but after the ride wanted more and more :)I see a less positive review below but I very much would consider that a one off. If you want to take your family to a beautiful, safe ranch. This is one I would highly recommend! Have fun :)

My wife and I went riding at Bridle Hill Farm, while on a weekend away in the Catskills. We had a private trail lesson, and it was wonderful! The farm is beautiful and the owner was friendly and helpful. We are both relatively inexperienced riders, but she gave us clear instructions on how to ride comfortably on our horses, matching temperament to skill level. I felt comfortable, safe and had a wonderful time. We would definitely return the next time we are in the area.

Everything about our experience at Bridle Farm was perfect. I left a voicemail that we were interested and Elinor got right back to me. We texted back and forth which I loved and she made everything crystal clear. We had some last minute changes that she easily accommodated without issue and that was all before we met her wonderful horses! We had a mixed group of riders, but Elinor made everyone super comfortable and at ease. We rode around her lovely farm and I (a more experienced rider) even had the opportunity to vary my speed a little while riding Lizzie. If you're in the Poconos or Catskills - make a reservation - you will not regret it. Bridle Hill is the best!

We just got back to the hotel this evening...but I wanted to write my review immediately. I have twin girls that are 7. They both agree this was “the best day ever). We have no experience riding. This was a first for their mom as well 😂. The lesson was insightful. Elinor was super knowledgeable. She was a wonderful teacher, making my girls master their first time riding a horse by giving them the reins (literally). The girls stepped up and it was wonderful for their confidence. She took her time and really seemed to enjoy what she does. The horses were happy and gentle! We will be back. Thank you for giving us a forever memory. Till the next time!!!🙏🏼

An amazing experience from start to finish. Elinor was incredibly pleasant and thorough when explaining all the safety guidelines. She even met us out front with her adorable pets Lunar and Lulu ( the cutest cat and dog combo I’ve ever seen). She patiently showed us how to properly mount and ride the horse and made sure to to point out and avoid any dangers during our ride. Will be back again!

Eleanor is an amazing woman! After being lost with no service for an hour, we finally arrive at Bridle Hill Farms. Beautiful farm on acres of greenery with amazing views of the mountains. We then proceeded to LOCK OURSELVES out of our car. Eleanor could tell my husband and I were stressed and very close to turning on one another, as many do on a stressful family vacation. She called triple A and told us not worry, we would go on out trail ride and they would be here by the time we were ready to leave. She introduced us to our beautiful horses, we learned about their different personalities. She taught us how to hold the reins and make you basic turns, stops. (We have basic riding experience) But wow! I was smiling ear to ear after 5 minutes on that horse! What a therapeutic/beautiful/relaxing experience. Thank you Eleanor and Bridle Hill Farm! (triple AAA wound up showing up while we were riding. Eleanor talked to them, they unlocked the door, and left. She really saved our trip. Thank you! Deff recommend.

Please stay away from this place. The owner is very pushy, she convinced me to buy a package of 10 lessons for my 5 year old son. When I came home I gave it a second thought and decided to cancel. I contacted these folks and ask for a refund. They blatantly lied saying that their policy did not allow for refunds and that I was informed about it at the time of purchase.Professional scammers.

We just returned from the Catskills. During our stay, we were fortunate enough to do a trial ride at Bridle Hill Farm. I appreciate that the host is taking Covid seriously. She has good safety protocols in place, and we felt comfortable the entire time. The horses were well-trained and the trails are beautiful and all natural which I love. Also our guide was VERY nice and shared good info with us. Another reviewer mentioned that there are thorns (from a rose bush) along the path- we were warned about them and told how to avoid them. We would ride here again!!!!

Elinor was great! My sister and I went on a private 40 minute ride with her and had a great time. The property is absolutely gorgeous and the horses are so sweet. Elinor really knows what she's doing. She's very kind and I recommend checking it out.

I am very reluctant to leave a negative review for someone's family business but the experience we had today leaves me no choice. Unfortunately, not having too many options for a trail ride given the pandemic, I went with the first place that was open and close to our vacation destination. Over email and on the phone, the owner was pleasant and helpful. Sadly, in person, this was not the case. 2/4 kids were nervous first time riders and she exhibited frustration and lack of empathy when dealing with them. She didn't provide clear directions to my 13 yo and dismissed his questions along the ride, responding in unhelpful and demeaning ways. She essentially left his older sister to assist him on the ride. When giving a ride to my 7 yo, she acted similarly disengaged, even responding to text messages while leading the horse, a highly unprofessional and unsafe behavior. Also, please be aware that when you are told the trail ride will be an hour , the owner means you will spend a total of an hour on her property rather than on the trail. $60 per person for a 35 min ride is a ridiculous price to pay. In addition, when you are told the young child will have a pony ride, you will be given a small horse instead. No explanation given. Finally, one of my kids ended up with pretty bad scratches on her legs and while I realize many trials are preserved in their original form, some thought must go into safety of riders. In short, other than saying hello and goodbye, I felt the owner of this farm failed dismally to provide a good customer service experience even though she charges dearly for her services. She is clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about horses but should not be interacting with customers. I recommend you choose another horse farm if you have the chance to do so.

On visiting day, we drove from our home in Clifton, NJ to see our two oldest boys at their camp. We decided to treat them to a lesson and a trail ride. We have taken these guys for lessons and trail rides since they are four years old. We have been to a lot of places here and even abroad. Although almost every place we have been affords one the opportunity and pleasure to ride, none match the overall operation of Bridle Hill Farm. The location is practical, not far from Monticello. The panorama is idyllic, a pond, rolling hills ducks and geese and a farm dog and her pup. The couple who ran the farm were professional yet pleasant, warm and inviting. The stables are immaculate and well-ordered and the barn the most beautiful I’ve seen is state of the art and flooded with light; perfect for rain or to maintain a more controlled environment in honing in on or fine tuning your skills. The trail is in a lovely wooded area. My wife and I loved the setting and even took some nice family pictures. Our boys loved it so much we returned on the next visiting day and brought along their younger brother to share the lesson and go along on their trail. All in all, a great place and the kind of family business we need a lot more of.

Elainor Young keeps a beautiful farm and well-kept horses. She was thorough and succinct when communicating via email. My wife, two daughters and I knew what was expected of us upon arrival. The trail ride was beautiful, and we even saw a couple of velvet 8-point bucks. With that said, Elainor was often short and rude towards all participants, and even somewhat condescending upon finding out that my youngest daughter road, openly and rudely questioning her ability and her instructor's ability to teach. Moreover, she exhibited a lack of patience for those with next to no riding experience. Her communication skills, simply put, were lacking - as evidenced by the fact that she never introduced herself. While it is beautiful country and we plan to vacation along the DE River again, we will not be visiting Bridle Hill Farm. We will look elsewhere.

We have been to bridle hill farms a couple of times and each time my boys (ages 5 and 7) enjoy themselves. The owner teaches them to guide the horse, walk, and even trot with the horse. The come out of every session knowing something more and feeling stronger.

Ive been riding at Bridle Hill Farm since they opened their doors almost 8 years ago. I've fallen in love with each and every horse. There is a horse for each level of riding. Before coming to Bridle Hill Farm, I had been riding for years. I'd ridden difficult horses and push-botton horses that respond to your every command and while not one horse on this farm is difficult, they definitely teach you something every time you get on.A lot of the barns I've ridden at look down on you for not having a horse (How dare you?!) or not riding a purebred horse worth $20,000 (Oh, the humanity!) but BHF is not only an accepting place to be for all income levels (speaking as a recent college grad, i can completely relate), but the community here is something I've been looking for in a barn since I could saddle a horse on my own. The people here are good natured and ready to smile. You'll always see boarders sitting and chatting with lesson customers, and people here for trails helping groom horses that belong to boarders. We're constantly doing things together such as dinners, barn-dances, or going out together to support each other in whatever we do.Bridle Hill farm is not just a sanctuary for people who need to get away for a while, but it definitely adds a new definition to the word "home".

I can only give one star unfortunately. I feel it is way too much for people operating the way these folks do.My husband took my son here for a PONY lesson. Just look at the pictures. That's the "pony" they offer at a very modestly priced $45/10 minutes.Additionally please look at the 3 or 4 blankets under the saddle and my son's feet. Since they have no ponies and no small saddles for kids, they thought it was perfectly fine to just stick his feet in the stirrup leathers.Of course they told us after we agreed for the lesson that they had no ponies. Please stay away from this place!!

I work and ride at Bridle Hill Farm and it is definitely my second home. I have a relationship with everyone of the horses. Elinor (the owner) takes such GREAT care of the horses, it is unbelievable. I have been at this farm for about 8 years and I will never regret it! Elinor and Dan run a wonderful farm and Dan is always helping or improving something. The barn where all the horses stay is what Dan built. It used to be an appended barn with nothing but now it is wonderful. Elinor always makes sure everyone has water, hay and is well. One of the horses at Bridle Hill Farm is allergic to duct and mold so Dan made a seperate stall just for that horse. At the end of every day we take the horses into the pasture. They can run all the way in the back and be free, which is good for them. She also has a separate pasture for boarder horse, which are horses that people own. The owners can leave their horse there and Dan always brings hay when they need it. She makes sure that in the morning when we bring them in we brush them properly and check for tics or sores which can be located on the withers or by the girth. Elinor cares so much about horses and their health. We got 2 new horses a year ago and one was a reteired race horse. They were both super thin and needed to get fat. Every morning we give to grain to the horses and she knows how much each horse needs that benefits them. Whatever people say about being rude and we hurt the horses we DON'T!!!!!!!! We all love them and we take excellent care of them. The trails and lessons are so much fun! So please if your around town go check out Bridle Hill Farm. Or follow them on Instagram @bridlehillfarm

My husband and I arrived to the farm to inquire about riding lessons and we were immediately scolded by the owner! Belligerent, Hostile, aggressive and rude are the only words to describe this person. If your interested in having horse riding lessons coupled with psycho therapy after the experience then this is the place!

Bridle Hill Farm is definitely my favourite place to be. I have fallen in love with the horses there, and come to ride there every summer or when I'm in the area. Elinor and Dan are so nice, and I would definitely recommend attending their summer 'riding camp.'
