I have been using Wegmans pharmacy in Ithaca for years with no issues. That changed last month when I tried to get my breathing medications filled. Knowing both Rx’s were expired and I would need them soon, I did what I’m supposed to do and went to request refills via the app (my doctors office requires the pharmacy to request them if expired). Well, suddenly there was no longer a list of either prescription, only the Covid and flu vaccines I last got. They just disappeared, so I called the pharmacy. When I finally got a technician, she kept telling me I only had Spikevax and Flucelvax to fill (vaccines that never have refills), and didn’t even know that they are vaccines! I had to convince her that those are not my maintenance medications. Techs should know that!Needless to say no one could tell me why my online account was messed up, and they kept claiming that the office never sent the rx’s, even though I called the office 3 times to verify that they did. I even sat on the phone with a nurse while she sent them yet again, and got a confirmation message FROM WEGMANS that they were RECEIVED. It had been over a week of this , and I felt confident that my meds would be ready, so I went to the pharmacy. My medication had run out by this point and the stress of the situation aggravated my asthma. I was told by the cashier that nothing was ready for me, and no prescriptions were available for refills. I was livid. I had to sit there for 45 minutes waiting because I insisted a pharmacist call the office directly. She tried to tell me it was the doctors fault, and when I mentioned being on the phone with the nurse while they were sent, she then went on to blame the system. Didn’t seem concerned that the Wegmans app and their e-prescribing system is experiencing multiple problems.I write this review now, because I just tried to refill on the App again and it was glitching, not to mention the fact that I had been signed up for auto reminders and never received any. Didn’t realize this until I noticed that my Rx runs outside in a couple of days. I also didn’t receive the usual text I get from Wegmans telling me that my refills are being processed.I think it’s time to switch pharmacies. And now I worry about where my private information is ending up.

My biggest complaint is reaching them by phone. Sometimes put on hold for over 15 minutes before a person picks up.

Arrived at the pharmacy yesterday to get my daughter's covid booster and realized I had made the appt for a different day. They were so kind and squeezed us into the busy schedule for that afternoon. My daughter, who has Down Syndrome, was very nervous and anxious about getting the booster. The Pharmacist was so observant and was asking her about school and trying to calm her before the needle went in. I was so impressed with the staff at the Ithaca store. I may switch all our prescriptions to this pharmacy. Helpful, courteous and kind is what you will find here.

Wegmans pharmacy is wonderful! I was put on a medication that requires all parties involved (me, insurance company, doc, and pharmacy) to jump through hoops every time I need to get the script filled, and I have never once had a problem. The pharmacists and techs are always very nice, incredibly helpful, and understanding. I also get my dogs prescription filled here and it is much cheaper than most other pharmacies!

The pharmacists are always friendly, but I've come to expect a days-long struggle every time I pick up a prescription. My standard experience involves being told that my insurance isn't covering the refill. Then, if I am willing to pay out of pocket, there is some issue with my doctor's office. Then before I can get in contact with my doctor, I'll get a notification on my phone that my prescription is ready for pickup.Every time I send my boyfriend to get my prescription for me, however, there's usually no problem, so I don't know what to make of that. Also, my trans family member tells me that the pharmacists deadname them every time they pick up their prescription, along with giving them a runaround in several ways similar to my experience.There's either enough bigots working at the pharmacy to slow down customers getting their hormones and birth control, or something about our specific prescriptions brings out the incompetence in the staff here.

Usually the folks at Wegmans are on point and I never have issues. Today, my wife's meds were supposedly ready for pickup (by text message with price quote) but they were not. She was told to sit and wait while they finish. She inquired about the price and the answer given was nearly %30 more than what she had been told via said text.When she asked about the discrepancy she was told, "The prices aren't accurate" and that she "needed to be patient and understanding" So basically she was lied to about price (fraud/false marketing/price gouging) and then told to be respectful. I ended up being the one going (and also being told to wait)I was treated with the same snarky attitude that she was. This is pretty unprofessional and in a time when people's lives have literally been upended the last thing someone trying to pick up their prescription anxiety meds is to be told to be patient.To the overweight person with the tattoo on the back of your neck, maybe you should seek out a different line of work if you dont like being called out on your attitude and incompetence. Customer service is not for you.

Melissa from the pharmacy was hands down the most helpful and kind person! After a terrible experience with Wal-Mart s pharmacy earlier in the day Melissa not only filled a difficult to obtain prescription but found me a discount as well. 5 dang stars isn't even enough ❣

You would think that you could depend on a pharmacy to facilitate the acquisition of medication that you and your DOCTOR decide is best. They advise, council, recommend re: generics vs brand names & cost.ButADVISE being the key phrase. That any suggestions proffered would be just that - suggestions - not to be delivered as sermons on the mount, nor accepted as holy writ. No. It appears the staff here do not serve the public.They DIRECT the public to follow theiradvice. Even when inadvisable, out of touch with true pharmaceutical reality."Well the recommendations are".."thegovernment says".."We like to see"..."This is what we found." The editorial we. Imperious we. Not personal. Not even correct. I found.To be fair, for a majority of individualsdrug company, government regulationsmay suffice. The norm.There are always exceptions. Those who fall outside the norm. Above and below. That's why they report adverse reactions. Results as percentages.I read specialized publications. Bulletinboards. Carefully. And I go by my own personal experience. That is💯% valid and reliable. No one knows better or more. Especially not some irksome officious individual behind a counter who spends a little too much time sub audibly talking to peers and too little time respecting the intellect and experience of the consumer.The final insult? Some pinched face matron getting huffy about which side of an unmarked space is the exit or entrance when there was no line - anywhere - no signs, and no people.It was not like this before.Which is why it gets 2 🌟 not 1. Sad.

A huge help through issue after issue with insurance and providers. I’m from AZ and switching pharmacies with prescriptions that can’t be electronically transferred has been a pain, but Wegmans has never been anything but helpful and sympathetic. Long hours, kind staff, plus the best location in Ithaca (because who doesn’t love Wegmans!)

Today I stopped to get a prescription that was to be called in. Samantha couldn't find the prescription and went over and above to get it filled. She made numerous calls to the doctor's office and finally had them give it to her over the phone. This is great service. Thank you

Poor customer service and poor communication. Ordered an item out of stock, told it will be arriving next day, called in the evening the next day to find out that they don’t have the item in their warehouse, will have to wait until warehouse is restocked. If something is not available to be shipped, they should just say so I can try a different pharmacy.
