Such a lovely bookshop! Surprisingly well stocked given it's not huge but that makes it cosy - perfect to flick through the selections. Staff are warm and friendly too. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful bookstore!! I absolutely loved the style & atmosphere here. The lighting, flow, displays, rooms, suggestions... it all combines to make a really great indie bookshop. Grabbed a book, and they gave out free stickers & a bookmark at the register, too!

This is one of (if not THE) most beautiful bookstore I’ve ever been to. For one, the setting is absolutely perfectly cozy. Then, the books displays are wonderfully out-facing with reviews from employees which is such a wonderful touch. I want to buy all of the books in here because the store just gives you a big warm hug when you walk in and the books all whisper to you to take them home with you. I wish there was a little table area to enjoy my cup of press cafe coffee with my new book (the ambience at the coffee shop isn’t quite the same!)- that would just take it to the next level and I’m pretty sure I’d never want to leave.

Pretty awesome! Visited this afternoon when I was walking in the neighborhood. Hidden Gem in downtown Ithaca. The curation of books is awesome, and they have a nice nook for children's book as well.Background music is decent (at the right volume). Definitely will visit in the future.

The best bookstore in the area. The store is cozy with a good selection, and almost anything they don't have on the shelves they can have ordered for you. The folks working there also have a clear passion for and understanding of the books they sell. I've had some good conversations about the books I've chosen! Thank you for providing a personable experience... though my wallet isn't too pleased with the uptick in book purchases since Odyssey opened.

Cozy ambiance and great selection. The recessed lighting on every shelf makes you want to curl up with a book right there! If you haven’t found time to go, treat yourself this winter season and get a good book, coloring book, or puzzle!

This is just cutest little bookstore. I was greeted instantly by two women who offered me help looking for something if needed. Once I walked in, I was able to take a little piece of paper with part of a poem on it. I was thrilled. I cannot wait to return.

I’ve lived in Ithaca for a year, but only recently discovered this bookstore. It has the coziest, most inviting ambiance. Both the staff and fellow patrons alike are friendly and helpful. As someone who is immunocompromised, I especially appreciate their current masking policy. It shows genuine effort to protect and promote a safe, healthy community. Can’t wait to take my son here!

This bookstore is GORGEOUS! The lighting and soft music set the perfect mood for browsing. From when I walked in, the bookseller was very friendly and helpful in finding and recommending books. Hannah was particularly fun to talk to and it felt just like chatting with an old friend. I also love the way they showcase their books, from books in conversation to "blind dates" with books. Fantastic customer service, great selection from all genres, cool events, soothing atmosphere...this place is a gem! Definitely a must-see in Ithaca.

Charming, inviting, cozy, friendly; there aren't enough positive things to say about this exquisite book store! What is so interesting about it, is the fact that a good number of their books are not recently published ones. Not to say they don't carry some recent releases, but you will often discover books written years ago, by a talented author whose name you never saw on The New York Times Book Review lists. A refreshing alternative to corporately owned book stores, the owners of independent book stores have the freedom to choose what they hope will feed their customers' minds, and not what will just financially benefit them. Make this a must stop if you enjoy books.

Kind of hard to find but an IMPECCABLE atmosphere. It’s so cozy inside- it’s mostly underground, with lighted bookcases! I got a puzzle here as a gift that was absolutely raved over by the recipient.

A really cozy little bookstore, with a deceptively large selection of books spanning every major genre. The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable, and--although I didn't personally require assistance--spent extended periods of time helping patrons find that for which they were looking. It's easy to spend a long while in there, just browsing the many nooks and shelves.

I am an aficionado of independent bookstores and this one is one of the best I have encountered! Excellent selection and well informed staff! Delightful experience, including my purchase of a "Blind Date" book...wrapped in brown paper decorated with clues and drawing. I can't wait to return and savor😁

I am in town visiting my friend who has been hyping up this bookstore for weeks. It did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind & when we checked out, we shared a great conversation about some of our favorite recent reads. The Odyssey has a tremendous selection of books & seems to be operated by wonderful people. I'll definitely make it a point to visit again when I'm back in Ithaca.

Wish the experience was better. Picked out a blind book and tried to switch it as the book wasn’t for me. They denied it so I left the book on the counter… not going back here. One and done for me.Response to your message:That’s great that you are helping the next person but you still took my money and didn’t let me return the book. I didn’t know that’s how you treat your customers.
