We had the same problem about Rita. They lied to us. We booked our dog with Rita, and they weren't going to tell us she wasn't there to groom our Luna. Then the girl that was going to groom her didn't even speak English when trying to explain what we wanted done. It was the worst grooming job my girl ever had gotten.We do know she was way, way overdue for grooming, and had so many knots, and couldn't help going short. We understand she needed to be cut down really short, but we asked them not to cut the hair on her tail, and ears. They cut off most of the tail.And on top of that, they cut off all her hair and whiskers on her face. she's a whoodle, and they usually have lots of hair on their face even after getting groomed. She also had a cut in her ear. Looks like a completely different dog. Thank god my wife picked her up. I would have taken her out without paying them.She even looks sad for loosing all her hair.Luckily my wife seen Rita outside, and got her card to go to her in three years when my Luna grows back some hair.Terrible, Terrible Grooming On HerI will say we gone there for years, and were happy. it has changed in the last few months. So all the good reviews are from a few months ago. the latest reviews don't seem so good.

Way too much turnover. Ask for a detailed bill.There is a new fee, “administrative” No notice, i’ve been going there about 3 years.Between new groomers, hours that don’t work and surprise fees. Time to find a new groomer.Bring back Rita.

My dog has been stressed when going to get groomed - I decided to try another place. They were very friendly here and professional. When I picked my fur child up she was much calmer then when I dropped her off. I was very happy with the results.

I have been taking my Shichon here for about a year. I have always had a good experience. Kim and the staff are very nice. They ask you exactly what you want, and if they need to do something different for any reason they will let you know before they do it. The prices are reasonable, and they are very good with appointments (if you forget to make them in advance like me!)

First time having Moosie groomed! She loved it. They were so nice and caring. She looks so adorable! Nzingha (a relatively new groomer) did a wonderful job on Moosie for me. See her before and her after!!!!!!!!

Update: Check the photo below for Rita's new location!!! They are claiming that Rita retired but she actually moved to a new location and they dont want her clients to leave them. DO NOT SEND YOUR DOG HERE THEY ARE THE WORST AND DO NOT ATTEND TO YOUR DOGS PROPERLY LIKE RITA DID.They add on fees without telling you and expect you to pay. they added in fees because my dogs had long hair and said it was matted but it was not. I have been going here for awhile before they changed ownership and Rita has been cutting my dogs hair for over a decade now but I don't think I will be returning. The new ownership is not great and again they raised prices and add on nonsense fees. I would make sure to check what you are paying for, schemers and not appreciated. I left voicemails and never got a call back from them, very poor customer service. Sucks to leave a groomer I used for years but the new ownership has changed my views on this place.

Had my dog groomed here, I was was very pleased with the service. The price was very reasonable and she looked like a new dog,🐶. They even gave her some cute bows 😍. This will definitely be our spot and I will be recommending other to take their pets there.

Awesome place, great staff.Building is clean considering what type of place it is lol.Only thing Is, I wish they have free snacks for the pets though being they do such great jobs at getting washed lol.. Other then that I have NO complaints.If you've never been, you have a pet take a free day make an appointment (even though it's walk-in) and try it out I promise you will LOVE it.

I have been a customer at your New Hyde park location for some time now On 05/06/23, I had a 10 am appointment for my dog, to which I was prompt. After 2 hours I called the shop to enquire about the status of my pet. I was told by a young man that they are backed up and it would be another 30 t0 45 mins and he would give me a call. I waited another 2 hours and when I did not receive a phone call I decided to drive to the store only to be told that my Dog had been finished for a while. When I asked the young man why was I not called, he claimed to have forgotten. When they brought my dog to me, I was furious. I had given specific instructions, not to cut of my dogs bushy tail and to cut the hair on his face real short. I received my dog the opposite. His tail hair was absolutely gone and the hair on his face was long and uneven. I addressed this with the young man, who remembered me telling him how I wanted my dog to be trimmed, however he forgot to deliver my instructions. While talking to this young man it is quite clear, he does not take his job seriously and quite possible he is not competent enough to hold down any type of job. When I pointed out that my dog's nails were not filed, because I found out the hard way when my dogs sharp nails dug down into my arm when I lifted him up. In my presence he related to the groomer that I told him they did nothing. I was overly upset at this point and I not so pleasantly asked him "what was wrong with him". This mind you was not the icing on the cake. After I took my dog home, I noticed his underside of his left back poor was bleeding , upon close examination I realized my dog was cut. NO ONE TOLD ME MY DOG WAS CUT!I cannot begin to tell you the level of my distress right now. You can rest assured that I would no longer be bringing my dog there again. Its about time you start employing people who can deliver the appropriate customer service.

Overall it was ok...only because it's the first time I take my puppy to get groomed and I don't have another place to compare. I don't think the hair was cut at all. Came back with the same length I took her with. Nails on the paws were not cut either. So, overall I think she got a wash and dry and came back smelling great. Think I will try a different place next time.

Though getting an appointment is not the easiest (since they are a busy establishment) my dog loves it there and comes out happy and looking wonderful. The owner is a loving dog owner and shop owner. I will never forget the first time I went there as a new pet owner and how she put me completely at ease. My dog has an excellent temperament and is very easy to deal with. My vet recommended this groomer to me and gave it high ratings. I am happy to say they live up to that high rating.

We usually come here for grooming and they do a decent job, but 2 weeks ago my puppy left their shop traumatized and uncomfortable. Took him to the vet after a couple days of sleeplessness and found out he had gotten an ear infection (on both sides!) and had painful skin loss near his sensitive areas. I was horrified, and when I contacted their office we were assured to have the vet bill covered. However, it has been almost two weeks since then with no reply even after multiple calls and emails. Very very disappointing experience.

I am writing this review for my sister and her family. They took both of their dogs to New Hyde Bark Groomers about 2 weeks ago. Their large dog jumped out of the tub several times and has been limping on his back leg ever since. They had no way to secure the dog to ensure that he couldn't jump out of the tub. When dropping off their small dog, my brother in law told the groomer he wanted a small trim. The dog was unrecognizable when she was picked up. The groomer even cut her whiskers! We have used this grooming facility in the past and had a fabulous experience but understand that it is under new ownership. It's safe to say that we will not be using New Hyde Bark groomers ever again.

New to Yelp but felt compelled to write a review. This is by far the best groomer I have ever been to. Staff was friendly and interacted really well with my dog. His coat looked amazing and he came out smelling nice and clean. Prices are affordable and they have a shopping area that will fulfill all of your needs. I will definitely be back.

Rita has been with our dogs since the very start and she is just awesome! She sees our dogs quickly and is patient , and always does an exceptional job! Our little fifi looks beautiful and smells great after each grooming session! What they sell in the store is of high quality and markedly cheaper than other stores.

I was having an issue with my Mastiffs fur, she was shedding a lot and the vet recommended a shampoo for use. I called to check if the store carried it but no. The young lady over the phone was beyond helpful in helping me find a shampoo for my dog. I explained to her what was happening and informed me of an alternative shampoo I could use. I went to the store later that day to purchase it and she started asking me more questions. We got into a conversation about possibly a food allergy which my vet also had mentioned. I must say I love coming to this store. The staff is ALWAYS helpful and never rude. I truly had a wonderful experience there and I am happy to say...that same day I gave my Mastiff a bath and her coat never looked better. It was a drastic change not once did I see her scratch herself. I was very pleased with the results and I can't thank the staff for there sincere help....

I've been bringing my dog here for just over a year and she always comes out with a perfect haircut from top to bottom. I feel comfortable dropping her off. My dog can be a handful and it's nice to hear when I pick her up that she did great. The girls are always cheerful and their prices are very reasonable.

I used this grooming service several times by recommendation from my sister who was a longtime customer of the facility. We were very happy with the service we received from this facility especially with the groomer, Melanie. However, I called to make an appointment for my dog today and after giving my name and my dog's name for the appointment, the receptionist by the name of Asia (I'm not sure that is the correct spelling) thought she put me on hold and left the receiver off the hook instead.She proceeded to ridicule me regarding a previous conversation I had with another receptionist on a previous call. She was unaware that I heard the whole conversation. When she got back on the phone, I made the appointment anyway and asked if I could speak to her manager. She told me that her manager just left. I then told her that I overheard her ridiculing me and how upset and disgusted I was by her unprofessional behavior. She then "apologized" without any remorse whatsoever. I was so infuriated by this despicable experience that I called back and cancelled my appointment even though I really appreciated the work of the actual groomer! Word to the wise: if you are going to ridicule a customer, make sure you know the entire story first and the customer doesn't overhear the conversation.

These two stars have nothing to do with the actual grooming. One star each goes to the two staff members who helped jumpstart our car. As for the grooming, I would have been better off going to a barbershop. No disrespect to barbers. We brought our golden doodle and shih-pooh for grooming. The golden doodle was matted so they completely stripped her coat and left her unrecognizable. No effort at all. Her face was completely trimmed and not a whisker in sight. My shih-pooh was unevenly trimmed with stringy pieces left uncut on her ears and snout. The final touch on our shih-poo was the nail clipping in which they cut her so deep that it left her bleeding. She was still bleeding when we got home and leaving blood trails around the house. I should have went with my gut feeling when greeted by one of the groomers who was unfriendly. We felt extremely rushed. They have been unresponsive by phone to no avail. Do not bring your dog here if you are looking for love and care and actual grooming. Anyone can take a set of clippers and cut off hair. #unluckypaws

Best groomers ever! I have 2 large dogs who can be a handful and the staff is great with my them. I have even had issues where an emergency bath was needed and they squeezed my dog in to there fully packed schedule. They also had better prices then the other groomer. I have recommended them to many people who have thanked me for sending them there!

Extremely unhappy with this place , had an appointment schedule for 8:30 am and arrived about 15 minutes late but called ahead of time to let them know I was running late. No one answered the phone but I left them a message to let them know I was running late. When I arrive they tell me they cannot take me and gave my slot to someone else. Don't you think its common courtesy and good customer service to call your clients if you see they haven't arrived to ask them if they are still coming? or to let me know hey ypur appointment is going to be canceled so I don't waste my time driving to you? nope not at all and by reading the reviews im glad I did not have an appointment any longer wont be going here again

Friendly, local spot, with great service. Slightly higher prices than you can find online but it's worth it to support local businesses! Never had my dog groomed there but the grooming facility is in plain view of the store floor and the dogs always look relaxed and like they're having a great time.
