The employees here are so friendly and nice! I’ve just recently gotten into fish keeping, and was able to get everything I needed to get started for a pretty fair price. The fish we’ve gotten have shown to be hardy and happy, and get along well! I’ve had fish as a kid to no avail, but lots of their aquatic inventory seem pretty happy and healthy. If you think you will be a frequent, I would recommend signing up for their rewards program. I’ve only been in a few times and it has already saved me a good amount of money on supplies. Thank you!

Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional store manager.I placed an online order for same day delivery. They sent me some random items because they couldn’t find the items I ordered…who does that?After a call with their (very patient and helpful) customer support I got transferred to the store manager, and then the fun began…At first she blamed me for picking up the wrong items, and it took me a few minutes to convince her to check my order details and understand what “same day delivery” meant.She then blamed DoorDash for picking up the wrong items and asked me to contact DoorDash instead, before I pointed out someone from her store had to hand over the items, the DoorDash person could not just go in there and take things from their shelves.The store manager finally admitted someone from the store made a “mistake”. However she asked me to fix their mistake by returning the items in person because it was their store policy, and I won’t get refunded for the delivery and tip because that was DoorDash…I asked her whether I could get the correct items today, and she said the items were actually sold out. What?The store manager was yelling throughout the call and wouldn’t let me finish more than 2 sentences or ask a question. At the end of the call I asked her to provide her full name and send me an email to confirm their “same day delivery” and store policies, she just hung up on me before I finished saying “policies”.I was able to resolve the issue by calling the customer support again, and they agreed to provide me a full refund including DoorDash tips. PetSmart is a decent company, and they should choose their store representatives more carefully.

Kelly the trainer is amazing! Cashiers are always very nice. The nice lady's in the doggie day camp are so nice!The dude at the pets hotel desk ... Is definitely not nice. I told him exactly how to treat My dog as not to ruin my training (because he's still not perfect with strangers) and he didn't listen to a word I said. he kept scoffing and giving attitude. I told him not to touch the dogs head face and paws and he did just that and the dog got upset. He came up behind me while I was doing paperwork.It sucks, I love most of the people here but one person mishandling the dog and it sets him back on everything I'm trying to teach him. Now the dogs anxious and upset and won't calm down. It's crazy the trainer is in the same building and they can't even follow what their own coworkers are trying to teach

Rude Employee with no manners and absolutely no service skills. I went there with my daughter to get food for her pets and she got extremely excited when she realize they had cats in the store, she tapped on the glass without realizing the small sign on the small window. The employee\woman inside screamed so loud with anger, i couldn't believe her TONE. People never know how they can ruin someones moment, she could of chose to speak in a different tone, be more polite and still tell the my child not to tap on the glass but she SCREAMED with anger to a child that has been released from the hospital the day before, a child that was so happy to go to the pet store because she was going to see the animals in the store. I wanted to stop an return everything I had already paid for but decided to leave once I saw my daughters face, it was very uncomfortable.

I take my golden retriever to puppy training here at PetSmart. Kelly is an amazing trainer- she is kind and patient with all the animals and goes above and beyond! All the staff there is very nice, friendly add helpful. I go out of my way to go to this petsmart because of very kind people that work here.

Tonight I was told that the store doesn’t show hamsters to a customer unless the customer is definitely going to adopt one. Apparently it is a PetSmart national wide policy since Covid. I currently have four hamsters, one from PetSmart, three from Petco, all adopted after Covid. I’ve never heard of such a policy. How am I supposed to decide which one to buy if I can’t see them? Instead, I was told that I can see them through the glass cages, but they are all hiding. The employee told me there was nothing she could do to help. Customers should be allowed to observe animals before purchasing for obvious reasons. It seems like they are just trying to boost sales, they didn’t even ask me about my experience with hamsters or the food/materials/cage that I will provide. Very disappointed.

Tyler, the manager of the Pets hotel does not know how to do his job properly. Due to him not properly staffing the dog playrooms our dog got into an altercation with another dog. And now is permanently banned from all Petsmart locations. It is unfortunate because the rest of the staff is amazing.

Absolute worst! The GROOMERS are PATHETIC!!!!! Unfortunately, I had 3 appointments in the past since getting my puppy in end of October and had to cancel all 3 appointments at different times bc my 5 year old daughter was sick! shes had over 20 absences in the past 3 months due to illness. Its KINDERGARTEN. I just made an appointment for my pup for tomorrow morning and just received a call from a rude, assuming man that I have to call the day of since the last 3 appointments were cancelled the groomers make commission. So every time I cancel, the groomer loses his commission. I said my daughter was sick that's why I cancelled and I am self employed. I cannot call the day of to make a grooming appointment that takes 3 hours. He said "she was sick all 3 times?nbc it was 3 times". I said um YEA! do you know what it's like to have a 5 yr old?! shes missed over 26 absences in 3 months so do me a favor and tell your boss the 3 cancelations and the COMMISSION that was lost was for a reason. if you dont want me as a client thats fine too but I cant call in the day of to make a grooming appointmen! I own and run multiple businesses. Trust me... when I cancel it's not just disturbing your commission but it's also a disturbance to my schedule. Next time ASK for clarification and don't assume carelessness bc Thats EXACTLY what he did and how he spoke to me.

Normally I don't line the big box pet stores due to most of the time they don't have staff that actually cares for the animals. Whatever fish and animals they have usually are in poor condition. This location is different. Every cage is clean and they keep up with the care for their birds/reptiles/fish/small animals. Each cage is very clean which is surprising. They also try to provide the best possible they could with what they are allowed by corporate. I am a reptile breeder and I can say for me to be impressed it means it's really good. The staff members are nice and actually take the time to make sure you have the proper setups for whatever you are getting. Keep up the good job Melville Petsmart!

First time back since covid hit.The store is much cleaner than before! The fishtanks are well maintained with very good water quality and healthy fishes.Pre covid I would not purchase any fish there. Was cloudy water with sick fishes and infected fishes. Just poorly maintained.Covid somehow made this PetSmart into a better one.Before you check out, make sure to use your phone and load PetSmart.com and check online prices on your items. All their online prices are cheaper than in store listed. Show them the online price and they will reduce it to match website price.

Best petsmart ever! Staff is so friendly they all know my Bambi by name and greet her with treats and rubs. A lot of the time I just walk around the store when it's nasty outside to get her out of the house and they still treat us with the same respect. They are knowledgable about the items they have and will answer your questions. I got my bearded dragon and tank from there and they helped answer all my questions about lighting and everything. I also know people who use their pet play area dog sitting services and only say great things about that as well. The groomers have clipped bambis nails and did a great job also. Thanks petsmart for always making us and bambi feel welcome!

I picked up my dog from boarding to find her caked in old feces and covered in her own urine, and wet with diarrhea.Spoke with the AL and asked to have SL call me back because we were so upset. No one ever reached out and nothing was done to rectify this situation.

The store happily matches store price to internet price. But we have show internet page on our phone at register.Other than that, ample of parking space, accessible, services are nice. Staff is very friendly and courteous. I use grooming service often here.Item wise, I'd recommend checking availability online before driving down.

Huntington station PetSmart hotel and day care are the best group of caring, professional, and thoughtful people. My puppy loves going to day camp. Our experience makes it easier for us to go away on vacation knowing that she is in great hands with this wonderful team. When we pull up in the parking lot, my dog runs as fast as she can to get into the hotel. They greet her by name. She is so happy to be there!

First time in a Pet Smart. Really like it. They have a good area reserved for smaller pets like guinea pigs, and the proper size cages for them. They even have a stand full of holiday guinea pigs toys, and gifts out. One note...You need to take care of your betas better. Please check on them, as they need some maintenance. Otherwise .. I will be returning for piggie items.

Just wanted to give a shout out to a really great employee at this location-might be a manager. I believe I heard an employee call this person Alex? But again I am not sure, anyway whoever was working the register/stocking the floor this past Sunday around noon was lighting up the store with positive energy! They gave me a real JVN vibe (and I mean that as a very high compliment) When another employee on register was stuck with an issue-they said “ok let’s switch!” And went over to rectify the register situation. As a person with previous retail management experience I can say, this quick action kept the lines moving seamlessly-customers don’t realize how fast this could have gone south and added an extra 10 minutes to their wait on line if it hadn’t been for this person. So kudos to this staff, keep up the great work and I hope the mall hurries the hell up with their crazy construction.

I commend the staff at PetSmart in Huntington Station. My order was acknowledged and completed quickly. The gentleman who brought the order out to the car was helpful and polite and we didn't wait long to pick up our order. Overall a very good experience and I will be using this option again the next time we need food and litter.

Terrible grooming experience. I brought my dog in for a nail trim. When I came to pick her up the girl informed me that she had cut the quick during the trim. I looked and she actually cut the quick on 2 of my dogs paws. A nail trim is pretty straightforward and I was shocked that she had done this on not 1 but 2 separate paws?!My poor pup was whimpering and the girl let me know I could purchase a product that stops quick bleeding if the bleeding continued. So not only did they hurt my dog, now I have to purchase something to fix what they did? You'd think theyd provide this to me complimentary considering they're at fault.Horrible service. Will never return.

During Memorial Day weekend, to pamper my dog while we were away, I booked a day spa to be done while he was at the hotel. At checked in, I made sure to tell the girl that he had an apt for a bath and haircut; she told me, yes, I see it, and told me no to worry, they will be taking care of everything, so I left. On my way back to NY from Maryland, I called the hotel at about 2 pm to remind them again that my dog had an apt and that I will be picking it up at about 7pm. They assured me they would be taking care of everything and that the groomer was taking my dog. Therefore he will be ready for pick up when I get in.I get there; to find out that my dog was never groomed. I was so upset and disappointed so I asked for a supervisor. The grooming supervisor was very unprofessional, didn't take the time to hear what I have to say, and was highly defensive; she keeps blaming everyone and states it wasn't their fault because the hotel never told them that my dog was there. The hotel stated it wasn't their fault because grooming should have come to pick my dog up. So who's fault is it then? Isn't the same people, system, and store? They fell a customer due to their lack of communication and then wash their hands and blamed it on the customer. Very poor customer service. I will not go back there.
