So I’m not someone who generally writes reviews unless someplace is really great or it was not a great experience and sadly it’s the poor experience that brought me here. Upon walking in there were 3 staff members standing there and we had to start by asking where do we go to check in. Not a huge deal but with what this place costs I feel you should at least be greeted with a welcome to our lodge are you here to check in? During the check in I was uncomfortably stared at for way longer than I should have been making me feel that since I’m not their typical hipster patron I was being judged. I also want to make sure it’s understood that before I continue this review we were upgraded at no cost to a lofted queen room. We get upstairs and walk into the room and while the appearance was nice it felt cold and not because it was temperature wise cold. The couches if you would call them that were not comfortable so it didn’t feel like there was someplace where you could just relax and unwind. When we went up to check out the loft and see where we could put our stuff we quickly realized there was no place to put your things away. So if you’re good with living out of your bags then that might not be a big deal for you. The pics online of the bathroom make it appear much bigger and cleaner. The grounds were nice but that’s about all I can say about that. So to wrap this up if you’re looking for someplace to stay just based on how much you are spending a night rather than being comfortable and having a relaxing experience then maybe this is the place for you. The vibe here is just people who don’t care about that and come off as snobby with a staff that was rude and had zero personality. I know I would not stay here again based on our experience.

Lovely stay! Stayed in the lofted queen bedroom with the fireplace. The fireplace really made the room cozy. The lofted area allows you to keep the bed separate from the living area which was great for us. If you’re very tall it might be challenging to do the loft but should be fine on the side with the higher roof.On site there’s yoga in the morning, movies on weekends and evenings, and a sauna plus seasonal ice rink or pool. Lounge has a really nice vibe with a fireplace, seating, books, and a pool table. I loved the number of fireplaces throughout the entire property. Plus the views of Hunter mountain.Prospect, the restaurant on site, is good. The food is a little expensive, especially for breakfast, so I recommend getting some in from the pantry or down the road at Fellow for morning bites. They make great cocktails which you can enjoy in the hotel lounge if you want.Rooms: Lofted queen room is small but expensive and comes with a fireplace so well worth it.Nearby activities: Hunter mountain. Tannersville. Skiing. Hiking. Snowshoeing.Food & drinks: Prospect is the restaurant and it’s good. There’s a pantry with snacks and breakfast bars.

Very intimate and charming hotel. The loft room I had was comfortable, queen sized bed. The coffee in the lobby is surprisingly good, and the lounge with the pool table is very cozy. They have a sauna (free to guests, have to reserve a time) and a pool. The restaurant onsite is ok. Good service and cocktails. Menu is a limited and they don’t allow substitutions. Close to the ski resorts as well

It’s such a cute place, it’s designed well I didn’t stay here so I don’t know about the rooms. The staff and food however need some major changes. Three employees at the front desk - not one greeted us or even said hello. I said hi and then we all proceeded to just look at each other as we were touring the lobby. I paid $24 for the smallest ceaser salad w an overcooked chicken tender. How much does lettuce cost here? They have a full bar but won’t serve liquor, but they’ll serve bloodies. I understand bc they’re probably pre-made, but it’s Presidents’ Day on winter break during ski season. Get it together. The floors were trashed where we were eating. But I’m most upset about the burnt tender on a tiny bed of lettuce.

Limited menu, food was good but kids meals were very expensive. $14 for buttered noodles with no drink is way too expensive for a kids menu. Throw some meatballs or something in if you are going to charge $14. Don't offer a kids menu if you don’t want kids there.

We’ve been coming here for a few years now and it’s always a magical experience! The rooms are comfy, cute and have beautiful views. The service is always excellent, and if we ever visit for a special occasion they make us feel special. This has become me and my husbands most looked forward to trip year in and year out!Rooms: Very comfortable beds, clean rooms, cozy fireplace in some of the rooms, and the deck and chairs are always my favorite for mountain view rooms!Nearby activities: Lots of hiking, skiing, and walking in the area! Towns aren’t too bad of a drive away and gave great restaurants and antique shopping.Safety: Always feel secure and safe visiting here.Food & drinks: The restaurant is awesome! And I always appreciate the tea and coffee service they leave out for guests near the lobby.

Had a great long weekend stay here but probs won’t be back. Beautiful view from the room however everything felt lower budget than I would have expected for the price. Strange smell from the heater/ac. Bedding was comparable to a Hyatt or Residence Inn. Dismissive service from the front desk. The main lobby with the fireplace looks beautiful but all the furniture is pretty uncomfortable so not great for hanging out. Outdoor property was gorg. Love that it’s dog friendly. Restaurant staff was super friendly and helpful too!

Unfortunately the accommodation for the wheelchair wasn't up to par.. the wheelchair doesn't completely fit and towels for the floor were hard to come by. I struggled with doors and luggage and no help was given.... coffee was cold and I was glad to leave... nice idea but not there yet. Room wasn't super clean and no place to put clothes or personal items... felt a little like an upscale holiday inn. Great that is was dog friendly but the dog next door was barking every time the owner left.

My second stay, but I don’t think I’ll be back - its lost its touch as a Catskills destination. The food was bland, boring, and overpriced for the lack of quality. The staff was friendly, but coming from hospitality, there’s a clear disconnect. Doesn’t feel cozy and inviting like make other hotels in the area. The rooms are really stripped down and simple, comfy beds but no real vibe in my opinion. It’s a beautiful location so I hope they do a glow up soon because they need it.

I surprised my partner with a birthday trip to this wonderful hotel. The staff's exceptional hospitality and assistance throughout our stay truly made the weekend unforgettable. The special touches of a handwritten birthday note & ice cream and candle sent to the room really were above and beyond.A heartfelt thank you to Scribners for creating such a special experience. Also, obsessed with Andrew’s garden tour- what a treasure! Looking forward to returning and bringing our beloved pups along next time!

My husband and I spent a few days at Scribner's right after our wedding. It was the perfect setting for a "mini moon" -- our room was spacious (and the bed was super comfortable) and we really enjoyed all of the activities we could do on site, whether that was swimming and reading by the pool, having nightly sauna sessions, playing billiards, or getting a fabulous dinner at Prospect. We also enjoyed the nightly bonfires and the complimentary s'mores kits the hotel provided. Additionally, it has great proximity to the cute shops and restaurants in Tannersville (and is not far from Hudson) as well as awesome hikes and other outdoor activities. I wholeheartedly recommend Scribner's the next time you're looking to plan a vacation or getaway weekend to the Catskills!

Have not stayed inside but the views must be spectacular, from pretty much any point of this place. However this review is about food. Reading so many revving reviews about their restaurant headed off for a lunch with friends, definitely thinking to take advantage of those views. The views did not disappoint. The food did. A price tuna sandwich with little flavor just canned tuna on a toast? Other sandwiches were not that much more impressive. If i ever come back, that would be for the views...

We have made it a tradition to make Scribner's one of our stops along the way when travelling to the Berkshires or New England Area. It is a very relaxing place with great outdoor space. We particularly enjoy the chance to make s'mores and use the sauna. The garden space is great and always fun for our toddler to look around. Breakfast has always great there, during off season we went once and they had a great visiting chef series going on which we particularly enjoyed. The only reason not giving 5 stars is due to on both occasions we stayed something went wrong with either our restaurant bill (we were charged for someone else's dinner) or our room bill (a discount was not applied despite me asking multiple times that it would be).Food & drinks: Had breakfast on our most recent stay and it was all very delicious. Pancakes had a great twist of having masa in them giving them a beautiful bluish hue. Fruit was perfectly ripe as well.

Incredible place to stay or if not stay, please eat here!We were able to enjoy some of the best pasta I've ever had for dinner, an insanely good pop-up menu another night, and a wildly good breakfast. The quality of ingredients is *chefs kiss*. Also, amazing cocktails, natural wine and great beer. Shout out to Greg working behind the bar!As for the stay, we stayed in one of the smaller queen sized rooms without a view and wasn't lacking in any way. They have a cozy little gas fireplace, windows that open, and a fold out table! The staff were all amazing, personable, and kind. Also, can't beat the location if you're doing anything on Hunter Mountain. Would love to come back in the summer and take advantage of the pool!

The restaurant is very attractive. Unfortunately the menu is uninspired and sorely limited, the service was unprofessional and slow, the portions are stingy, and the food was over-priced and unacceptably poor.Food & drinks: A cocktail at the bar might be considered. Dining is best avoided. The the menu is deficient and over-priced ,while the portions were skimpy.

This review is for the restaurant: Great views 5/5, Good food 4/5, okay service 3/5. Food was good - portions on the smaller side. Service was a bit spotty at times, but I think they might have just been busier than normal this past weekend. Averages out to 4/5!

Resort is cozy and clean. For the most part the accommodations were great. They let the hot water run out on the first day of our stay so we couldn’t shower until evening. BIG drop of the ball. For a lodge everything gets a late start as there is no coffee anywhere until 8am so if you are an early bird plan on driving to the Cumberland Farms. The food was amazing and well worth if even if you are not staying here. They must absolutely STOP with the incense in the room. It’s overpowering and made me nauseated. The bed frames are dangerous and rounding of the corners should really be considered.

Beautiful property tucked away in the Catskills. Perfect for a getaway from NYC, or as a home base to visit the Hudson Valley. Don’t miss out on the cinnamon buns at nearby Fellow cafe!Rooms: Our loft room was large and very clean. The living area was more fashionable than comfortable, so we spent our time enjoying the patio Adirondack chairs instead.Food & drinks: Incredible menu options at the hotel restaurant. We had breakfast there twice during our stay and one amazing dinner that featured fresh ingredients grown on-site at the hotel garden.

Beyond our expectations! We found this place thanks to an Instagram famous dog and knew we had to check it out with our pup. Recently renovated, the place was beautiful…it had the lodge vibes but with modern amenities. Pool, sauna, lounge it’s all there. The attached restaurant Prospect was equally impressive. The menu was refined but approachable and everything we had from salad to pork was amazing (and…the brownie sundae…say no more!)We had an amazing time, amazing views, and really accommodating staff. We can’t wait to come back 🐶

Couldn’t have had a better stay. To start, the drive from New York City was so pleasant and just under two hours. We were greeted by the staff, who had already arranged dinner reservations the first night. We dropped our bags off, and took a tour of the place, and it’s certainly stunning. A beautiful upscale lodge vibe with a beautiful patio that overlooks the pool with hunter mountain in the background. The room was great, with a matching ski lodge vibe decor. Very tasteful and comfortable. Our room had a terrace overlooking the pool which was perfect to hang out on; I believe all the rooms have a similar terrace.Dinner at the restaurant was unbelievable. The food alone is worth a two hour drive . All the vegetables are grown at the hotel’s garden and the quality of the dishes are impeccable. We spent three nights there, hiked the trails behind the hotel, chilled by the pool and ate amazing food and drank delicious cocktails...all in a beautiful lodge with the most pleasant and attentive staff. There was really nothing more to be desired.Already planning my next weekend back.

If you’re gonna go to the Catskills, this is the way to do it. The staff added a nice touch for my birthday. Would recommend coordinating your stay with their events calendar if you’re looking for accessible activities. Otherwise it’s a nice place for getaway. The standard rooms are pretty close to the lobby if you’re concerned for noise, look into the upgraded suites.
