Always wanted to try when in the area for skiing but never able to until this past weekend when Hunter closed for the season. Stopped by late on Saturday evening and was excited to try based on others reviews and menu. Our waitress was super sweet and nice given we got there late an hour before closing. Food came fast and looked wonderful but was a bit disappointed: potatoe leek soup was so small for the price ($11) but decent in flavor, the chicken Jaeger snitzchel $(30) was good but the mash potatoes was unbelievably salty but didn’t want to send back as it was late; the nurnberger bratwurst platter for $29 came with 3 small links but loads kraut, potato pancake, the trout salad was ok and probably could have done less kraut ratio, and last the lobster ravioli was ok but not stellar w/ large chunks of lobster meat and good portion of ravioliOverall great service & atmosphere but the prices did not meet the quality/taste. I know price of food in general has gone up a ton and the area in general but it’s overpriced

Came for dinner and was so glad to have made a reservation the day before because they were very busy! Our server Michelle was delightful and so nice. The only issue we had was when ordering the German potato salad we did not know it had large chunks of bacon in it so the only critique is that we wished the menu had clearly noted which side dishes had meat mixed in to them as my friend is not able to eat bacon and was pretty startled after a few bites when they noticed the pieces mixed in.

Both the service and the food were excellent! Being the first time at this restaurant I asked the server for recommendations, and she mentioned the most popular dish at the restaurant (see picture because I don’t remember the name ;) Amazing! We tried three deserts too that were delicious. The cheese fondue appetizer was to die for. 100% recommended if you’re visiting the area.

My friends and I had a wonderful time at the Jagerberg Beer Hall for Sunday Brunch. I would highly recommend getting the “Warm Raclette Cheese” appetizer for the table. It was tasty and had a good variety of things to snack on. This place was pretty quiet for brunch and it shouldn’t be for the variety and quality of brunch items they had. The next time I’m in that area I will definitely go back!

Our group of six arrived for a late lunch. We were seated promptly. They seemed to be understaffed, but the servers were friendly and seemed to be doing their best. We all enjoyed our meals, which were nice and hearty. They have a nice beer selection and a decent number of special drinks, although they ran out of the hot cider after we ordered. I loved the Bavarian ski lodge design and decor. Overall, a great place to stop in after skiing or hiking in the area.

Came here for a one night trip after a long day. The service was attentive and kind. The food was extremely delicious. We ordered a potato leak soup, which was sooooo good - Highly recommended!! We also ordered an asparagus, beat salad, and a chocolate cake for dessert. We loved everything!!The atmosphere is excellent with this German style tavern. We would definitely come back if we are in Hunters next time!*they outdoor seatings, bar, and two floors.Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian options.

Top restaurant experience!I came because of the good reviews on Google. Wasn’t expecting much, but left tremendously surprised. Thought this was going to be another American-style tavern with a bunch of townies - totally not the case.Let’s get some easy things out of the way. The draft beer selection is great. Ale, lager, and IPA were all good. The food is absolutely amazing. The German Onion Soup, Warm Raclette Cheese, and the Wurst Platter - get them all. The chicken sausage on the Wurst Platter was the star of the meal. Simply too good to describe. Now, what stood out to me was the service. Danyelle was top notch. Friendly, sensible, attentive - overall amazing. She is an invaluable member of the Jagerberg team. I visited here with my wife, and she had the sensibility to split our orders into two different plates. Simple things like this go a LONG way in my perspective. Truly amazing. For anyone reading this, just visit Jagerberg when you’re in town. It’s not rocket science. When it comes down to nailing down the fundamentals, Jagerberg goes above and beyond.

my family and I had the chance to dine several times at Jagerberg this past year. Each time all our meals were fantastic everyone one enjoyed various authentic German appetizers and entries. The food is fantastic. I also can't say enough about the service Michelle provide. She waited on us several times. The first time we were quite early before they opened. She actually came outside and said we could come in a bit early enjoy a drink while the kitchen gets ready......who does that!! So glad she did as we had an awesome time. All the people there a friendly and professional. Highly recommend if I could give 6 stars I wouldDave and Sandy from CT

Came up to Hunter for a snowboard trip, I’m not sure if this place is new or I’ve just never heard of it but it’s my first German Restaurant experience. I wasn’t expecting one of the best meals I’ve ever had when I walked in. Very low key and unassuming place. The menu was small but diverse. I purposely ordered something different than my two friends because I like trying new things and figured I could try some of theirs. I never got a chance to try theirs because once I took my first bite I didn’t look up until I was too stuffed to move. I don’t think it matters what you order because both of my friends had the same reaction. I can’t wait to get back up there not for the mountain but for Jagerburg.

Loved this excellent authentic German restaurant!!We're visiting friends in Hunter from New York City, and found this gem! Their service, food, beer are all fantastic!! In fact, we came back to eat dinner after we stopped by there for snacks in the afternoon on the same day. The decor on first floor is sleek and modern, but second floor looks like a German lodge house. Highly recommend!!

Amazing food, cocktails, beer, and atmosphere. They recently added a side porch for outdoor seatings. They use local fresh ingredients, with a Bavarian flare. Very kid and dog friendly, too!

Delicious German food! The atmosphere is wonderful as well. This hidden gem in the middle of Hunter, NY is definitely a must if you're stopping by. Surprisingly there are vegan and vegetarian options as well! Would definitely return.

Really solid spot for after ski food and beers. Moderate pricing and everything I've tried on the menu so far is delicious. Great assortment of beers (you've got to try a wreath of German beer!). Good bartender (Robin is the man!) and service. Highly recommend after a day on the slopes at Hunter. Interior is clean with Austrian ski house vibes, nice bar and cool long tables for bigger groups. Way better than elbowing into the slopeside bars at the mountain.

First time here, we had a very sweet waitress. The flatbread appetizer we ordered (not gonna try to spell it) was amazing, being so far from the city I wasn't expecting such a good crust! For the entree, my wife had the chicken shnitzel, which was good, however I took a shot in the dark and ordered a sausage dish, can't remember the name..... But my god, it was amazing. It came with the best sour kraut I've ever had in my life.It will be a few years before I'm in this area again, but when I am, I will be back.

Great ambiance, decor and good food and beer. My schnitzel was a little too thick and the lemon sauce a little too sweet but a great dish overall. And the watermelon beet salad was delicious, and the hubs enjoyed his brats dish! We would definitely come back, and I predict this place would be difficult to get a table during the busy ski season unless you make a reservation.

Enjoyed the casual atmosphere. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was just wonderful. Can't beat the selection of beers, wine and cocktails. My husband and I split the Bratwurst platter.

Very appropriate ambiance for a dinner after skiing. The meal otherwise felt rathe rushed but by no fault of the waitress but rather the kitchen. We ordered two pretzels to start, one of which came out burnt (not sure why they bothered to send it out) and was sent back. Before the second pretzel had arrived, we already had our dinners. Although the food was tasty, it was definitely quite a bit salty and, again, felt rushed so it wasn’t the best overall experience. Keep in mind that the dinner portions are quite large. Given the cost of the meals, I would have preferred a bit better service and not to be in and out so quickly. We prefer to have a more relaxed meal.

Excellent food and service! We were so happy with everything we ordered (especially the seasonable veggies, the wurst platter and the pork chops), and the waitress was so helpful. It was already packed by 6pm on a Saturday (wet day out so imagine some people spent the afternoon there), so a reservation is recommended if visiting on a weekend. Would definitely come back if we’re in the area again!

The German centric place conveniently located 2 min drive from Huner Mountain skyride. We were a group of 12 people so our waiter was a bit overwhelmed, but eventually we got all our dishes, be ready to wait. The apps are way better than the mains I should say. Especially good were a flammkuchen and liver pate with pickled beets. The assorted sausages trio was good, and chicken schnitzel with mushrooms was crisp and juice, but quite bland and lacked seasoning. They have a great selection of German beers, wines and local ciders.

Carefully prepared German cuisine at fair prices. About six beers on draft. Plates of charcuterie and cheeses. Friendly waitstaff. Wurst from a cart outside. Al fresco seating in front or on the balcony above. Unpaved parking lot in rear. On September 25th, 2020 the Greene County Libertarian Party hosted Larry Sharpe at this location.

Great food, great service. We all tried different dishes and everything was delicious. Basically you can't miss with any selection.I liked my nurneberger sausages best of all. We also had a german 'pizza' for appetizer, and it was surprisingly good. I'd only caution about their rosti potato cake - too salty, and too fried. Red cabbage was awesome. They have an extensive beverage selection. Being Octoberfest season we tried 2 German lagers on draught, and both were amazing . Hunters toddy was tasty and appropriate for the season too. They have a nice updated interior, and outside seating.
