Unbelievably tasty takeout lunch - not a thing I would change about it. The half-portion rotisserie chicken with three sides ($32) is generous enough to split, which is what we did. The garlic rice was the best I've had outside of Filipino establishments -- there were no throwaway components on the plate. We left delighted and eager to return.

First time at Kitty’s after reading some blogs about it. We were a party of 4 and went for dinner on Wednesday night. We decided to share appetizers and small plates, so we didn’t order any large plates. We wanted to try as many of their offerings as we could because the menu was very interesting. The atmosphere is chic and well-designed, but a bit loud when the bar is full, which it was. Kitty frozen tiki cocktail was strong and tasty. We really enjoyed the savory selection and liked the variety. Flavor pairing were unique and produce was very fresh. The main reason we only provide 4 stars and not 5 is because the dessert was super disappointing after an otherwise delicious meal. It was the Apple galette, which we’ve had many of at many places. This one was a slice of something baked earlier in the day. The apples weren’t flavorful and were dry. The crust was crispy in some spots, but after sitting for the day, it was chewy and not flaky. Sadly, it was served room temperature, which could have been okay if all other aspects are perfect. So sad that it wasn’t as impressive as the savory dishes.Certainly still recommend a visit to this place! Enjoy the seasonal offerings.

Super hip and friendly restaurant with superb creative drinks on par w some of the best in Boston (I'm thinking of the old Hawthorne in Hotel Commonwealth). The food is inventive fresh and absolutely delish. Hubby, who is a carnivore, actually loved their chicory salad- too beautiful to eat, but we certainly did. Had the oysters, pork belly and clams. Pork belly was a good hunk of meat on a fluffy buttery brioche toast. Clams and beans were interesting, points for creativity but not as good as the other dishes that we had. Eclectic fun crowd, relaxed ambiance. Overall a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend.

The hype is real. The egg sandwich with chicken sausage and sauerkraut was so good. That is an interesting combo but it worked. Delicious. The hash browns were like hush puppies and you could tell they put a lot of effort into making them. The vanilla cruller was also a highlight. They don’t have a ton of food options but they do everything well. What a good find.

We had brunch at Kitty’s after arriving on the Amtrak. While the breakfast sandwich is a fantastic value, the fried chicken sandwich (while delicious) is ludicrously priced considering it doesn’t come with any sides. As a previous reviewer mentioned, our service was comically bad. There was a pronounced lack of urgency, and a general sense of disorganization. For instance, the table next to us was handed their bill before their meal had been served. One of our drinks didn’t arrive until we had nearly finished eating. The plastic plates seemed meant to add a nostalgic touch but detracted from the ambience.I truly wanted to love Kitty’s, and perhaps we would have if we’d just gotten takeaway pastries or the breakfast sandwich. Instead, we walked away with a bad taste in our mouths.

Had a wonderful time visiting Kitty’s. While the menu is limited, their offerings are very tasty, fresh and of the highest quality. We had egg sandwiches, several of their fresh pastries and coffee… it was tremendous! The staff was incredibly friendly, even letting me explore the closed dining room.Taylor, Lilo and the rest of the staff, thank you for your hospitality on our visit!

Really good fried chicken sando! Juicy and crispy chicken breast with a sesame seed bun. I give the experience a 3.5 because of the $18 price point. With no sides and $1 extra for sauces I found it very overpriced. Not sure I’d order it again. Came in on a week day and the dine-in restaurant was closed. Might want to check ahead if you’re looking for that.

Dollar oysters for happy hour is becoming rarer these days so props to them on that. Food was creative, flavorful, fresh, and well plated. Atmosphere tres chic. Service was good but not great. Sort of that classic we are too cool to REALLY care about whether or not you're enjoying yourself vibe. Will try again and give 5 stars if service improves.

Enjoyed dinner here despite service being comically bad. Food was lovely - creative, nice portion size, well-prepared. Between the four of us we covered most of the menu and everyone loved what they got. Cocktails were also extremely well-made. Nice dining room, great bar, comfortable chairs.Would be 4 or 5 stars if service had been competent. Everyone was very nice, but there was a general lack of urgency and disorganization which translated to a disjointed dinner. We ordered 4 appetizers - they came one at a time, over maybe 10 minutes. Each dish was delivered by a different server and none of them knew which dish belonged to which person. This pattern was repeated for the entrees - the final meal coming out so late that the server comped two desserts. Nice gesture but delivered without sincerity. Felt like a good expeditor in the kitchen and floor manager would have made this a great experience.

Our experience was so bad we left the entire town lol. We already left one pretentious cafe in Hudson to come here due to the reviews and the aesthetic in the pictures. We were sat immediately, but after that idk what the hell happened. It felt like we had signs on our foreheads saying, “outsiders, don’t serve us.” We sat for 10 minutes, someone from behind the bar dropped off water, didn’t say anything except for a mumbled “yup” when I said thank you. The servers kept walking around but not really doing anything and we couldn’t get their attention (shouldn’t have to though). They seemed to do one table at a time but then hang out at the POS for awhile? It wasn’t very packed either, maybe 5-6 tables with 4 workers. We noticed another table got up and asked to move and when they did they immediately had to ask if they could order. Another group came and sat at the bar and of course were served before us. Finally, when my boyfriend went to the bathroom I saw someone sending their order back. When he came out, and our drink order still wasn’t taken (maybe 20-25 minutes later) we got up and left the second attempt to get brunch in Hudson and left the town completely. The menu was small without a lot of variety, nothing really stood out to make it special. Prices I would say fair, but couldn’t tell you the portion sizes because I never got the chance to order. Both places gave such a pretentious vibe. It’s such a disappoint, we really wanted to like Hudson.

I thought I didn't like deviled eggs until Kitty's, even ordered a second round! Everything we ordered from drinks to dessert was delicious, nostalgic dishes with a twist.

It seems endemic to Hudson that these beautiful restaurants are created without a thought to management and staffing.Just came here for lunch. We were greeted and told to have a seat wherever we’d like, apparently because the restaurant was empty. We sat and waited, and waited. Two women sat a table away from us, and received menus, water and had their order taken in short order. After that happens I have to flag the server over to say we don’t even have menus. She responds that she didn’t know we were there, even though she was the one who told us to sit anywhere. She responded by saying she’s really busy (in an empty restaurant) and continued to make excuses. We got up and left at that point. It’s too bad, it’s a nice looking restaurant.

We stopped here every day on our trip. I'll forever add sauerkraut to my egg sandwiches now because of them. So delicious. Loved the walk up window where you can place orders and pick up food to go. Conveniently located across the street from the train station. They have a huge, beautiful outdoor patio with spaced out tables. The market is full of local goods and products, stop in for a taste of NY. The locals rave about their rotisserie chicken meals!

Loved it here! As soon as I got off the train, I stopped here for a late lunch and it was great! The “spinning chicken” comes in different serving sizes with a choice of two sides. There is outdoor seating in the back (I think there are renovation plans for a larger indoor seating area too). The staff was super nice! I also got some provisions and snacks. If nothing else you have to get the chocolate chip cookies from here. Be aware that they are not currently open daily, so check online before you go. If you’re taking Amtrak to or from Hudson, this is a must as soon as you get off the train and/or before you head back.

Went for dinner with their new menu. The food tasted great - but was honestly way overpriced. We were told at the beginning of the meal that the restaurant encouraged “family style” dining, but the dishes were too small for the five of us to share - we got the snack plate and it had one slice of bread. Also they weirdly didn’t have any serving utensils? They brought us regular, small spoons to try to dish up salad and fish. Overall, two entrees and four apps was around $65 each, and left all of us feeling hungry.

Best breakfast sandwich in Hudson. And still available after 1pm (a must since most spots run out too early or are no longer serving at this time). We sat at the bar and service was fast and friendly.

Great spot right across from the train station. The market area has to go salads and sandwiches with a bar seating area that is quite nice. Would like to go back and try the cafe side.

Visited for breakfast on a Saturday morning in late August. Had a reasonably tasty breakfast sandwich here. The sauerkraut is an interesting touch. Not sure I’d go for the sauerkraut again, though. Also had some potatoes because the hash browns were not available. Service wasn’t especially quick but it wasn’t bad. Limited outdoor seating. Interesting selection of other food items available. Decent range of local beers in the fridge. Prices, on average, seemed a bit high to me. I’d happily come back here but would be keen to try a meal besides Alastair.
