Interesting small museum with a large exploration section for children.Best time to visit is when they are having a festival which greatly increases the educational and entertainment experience.

We just came across this museum accidentally and decided to stop. Admission was $8 / person at the time of this post, but the exhibits are very interesting and educational! It only took us about an hour to see everything, but it was time well spent. There is also an outdoor amphitheatre, but there didn't appear to be anything going on while we were there, so I am not sure what sort of shows they put on, but either way, I was glad we decided to stop!

An institution dedicated to the promotion of Iroquois culture and indigenous identity in general. There are historical artifacts on display, and modern native interpretations through art. The gift shop sells all sorts of merchandise promoting Iroquois artists, and patrons can even sponsor Iroquois artists through customized programs. During this review there was an exhibition of an Iroquois dance troop.

A very informative experience. Quite a small museum and had a lot of indigenous art, more than the expected amount of history. If you are in the area it is a must visit. Probably best to visit early in the year than at the end (November). Will definitely go back with the kids next April when they open.

Very nice museum to visit in the Cobleskill, NY area. The museum is full of artifacts and also displays some contemporary art. Everything is nice to look at and consider. If in the area you should stop by. Cat at the museum is one of a kind.I also ordered merchandise through the museum store. The merchandise came in the mail promptly and was exactly as advertised and displayed on museum webpage. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Soon after our arrival Tommy & I were greeted by Heather. She made us feel quite welcomed. We found her delightful.I loved looking at all the archeological artifacts. The carvings are out of this world. I got some nice pictures to share.

This museum has an impressive array of art and artifacts contributed by the Six Nations, which led to an authentic feel. There was also a strong anthropological influence that provided scientific credibility to the artifacts and history presented. Definitely worth a visit.

The staff here is amazing! Went out of their way to assist my son with autism and help him enjoy himself also. The children's exhibits are educational, hands on, and engaging. The main floor, upstairs, has both permanent & changing exhibits. Every time we visit there is something new to see & learn.

Loved learning about the Iroquois Indians, their beliefs and traditions, and how we can all honor them. They have a nice hiking trail and a gift shop.

Beautiful building, fascinating exhibits. Lots of children's activities. Wonderful artwork spanning centuries. I especially enjoyed the art from the 1900s and this century. The soapstone sculptures! The beadwork. Baskets. So much intricate work. Great selection of books and modern jewelry and antler carvings for sale at the gift shop.Exceptionally welcoming staff. There are nature walks as well, but I didn't do any of them. And a resident cat. Very enjoyable stop in a beautiful area of New York.Ticket type: Adult ticket $8

Very educational, interesting and so many things were learned. Multiple tribes made up this people. Outside influences turned the tribes against one another.

I was not able to explore all the trails. The one path I was on was overgrown with very high grass and I did not want to risk tick exposure for my dog and I.My previous visit was to the facility itself and that I would rate at 4.5 stars. This 4 star rating pertains only to the trail.I was pleased to see so many identifier signs for the local plants and trees. My visit was only cut short due to the fact I was unprepared for the tall grass.

It’s a nice museum with beautiful artwork and deerskins. They have clean bathrooms, and a crafting area for kids downstairs. We went during their annual “festival” and they had a lot of activities going on, not sure how much there would be to do without the festival. The people working there were very informative and provided some good overviews.

Sort of a native art Museum with facts peppered through. They were having an art exhibit while I was there, and the people attending the exhibit were quite rude. Otherwise neat museum.
