Great local business. Been buying building materials for home renovations here for a number of years and just recently had them program a smart key for a push button Ford. The price was significantly lower than any local dealer and didn't have to make an appointment. Can't beat it.

Been going to Horseheads Do-It Center anytime I have been in the area for almost 20 years and never once had a negative experience with staff, a surprising variety of goods for a small hardware store, if you do not have access to a table saw and you need fine cuts of wood, they've got your back. They're smaller than the giants at Home Depot or Lowe's, but in my experience their staff are more helpful and knowledgeable, and their prices are mostly competitive. You know it always feels better to support the smaller guys anyway, and this business makes it worth it. I recommend them strongly to anybody in the area.

I only give this place 3 stars due to the poor attitude and absolutely disgusting way an employee treated us upon making a return. I know why he treated Us as such too. We were totally profiled in such a way that can destroy an up and coming small business and it was quite unfair. Let's just say that you don't know everyone, or the life they live. This guy made it clear that He was trying to deliberately be rude. Other employees apologized for His behavior as this is not the first time he has treated people poorly. His excuse "He's never seen us before. "Great, right? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Husband said he'll never go back. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Went looking for a gutter cleaner for my pressure washer. Already been to several big box stores and they had no clue what I wanted. Guys at do it center , knew what I needed and right where it was .... I ended up buying a stihl weed eater and leaf blower. They took care of all my needs and got me everything I needed they even filled up the tanks before I left. 10/10 will be back

Only place in a 30 mile radius to find 4x4 treated landscape timbers right now. Good quality. Premium black mulch in bags is much better quality than any big box store around.

I have shopped here for years and have found that their prices are equal to if not better than the big box stores. Their staff can tell you exactly what is needed to complete a project and take the parts right off the rack. They will even loan you special tools if you do not have them. I would encourage anyone about to take on a project to talk to these folks first and then support a local business. It is a win-win.Bill Carey

I have had such a bad experience at Horseheads do it center I will never go back. I bought some stain for my shed (it was previously stained) wanted to change color. I gave them the dimensions of my shed and deck. I got the stain and didn’t even make it around one coat before I ran out of stain and nothing on the deck. I went back to get more and they just keep telling me it’s on backorder. ( I know not their fault) I called again they said it came in so I went to pick it up but the base was different( I know this because I took pictures of the can ) and the one I need is still on backorder. I asked them why it was different they gave me the wrong one the first time. Apparently all the people in the paint department do not know what they are doing. So frustrated by the time the stain comes in it will probably be too cold to paint.

I am a chainsaw carver and desperately needed equipment for my demos at the Chemung County Fair this week. I was in a bind and they came to the rescue.They are very Knowledgeable! I came in presenting many problems with little knowledge of what I needed. They helped with a smile. I was completely stressed out when I got here, they calmed my nerves and put me at ease, knowing that my problems now had solutions. All because another stihl dealer in the area dropped the ball.THANKS GUYS!!! I will be a repeat customer, that's for sure!

I nor my husband or anyone else that I can convince will NEVER shop there again.!!They were very deceiving to my husband and robbed us of our equipment. We took a chain saw in there to be looked at and when we picked it up they had changed the cover, bar and the chain to a worse conditioned ones than what was on them. There was no intention on their part to help solve the situation and find out why they had done that. They definititly were trying to cover something up...BEWARE!!!!
