After 3 attempts it was finally open when we passed. It was okay, lots of kitchie merchandise. Was a little disappointed after seeing all the giant fun animals, thought it would be fun. Looked like maybe it had a cafe or something next door, but it was closed up.

This place is a "must visit again"! Turn a corner, whole new room to explore, turn a corner, another WHOLE ROOM TO EXPLORE! Fun place to play "Marco", "Polo", so many places to see and hide. I couldn't possibly have seen all there is! There's too much! It's impossible! Stop by, it's worth all you'll spend! Don't think you'll get out without spending any money, there's too much You don't need but would find a home for. Stop in and chat with the cashier, have Lots of laughs and spend money! There's a party going on in Hoosick and Your welcome to join the festivities! If You see a Turtle on a covered bridge, Your here! If You're not on 7, then look for the Black and White Bear with Skies next to the Holstein Cow. Military Discount here (see pictures) but You might want to think about admitting it first . . .

A must stop to check this store. It is full of odd tasty treats, toys and gifts. You will always give something you like for yourself or a gift. They are a bit pricey but the experience is priceless.

This is such an amazing find on Rt 7 headed into Vermont. You really can’t miss the moose. This store has so many incredible finds. There is literally something for everyone in this store from Sweet Little delicious treats to retro candy that you remember from your childhood. Knickknacks to jerky. Old soda pop and retro candy. The pros: You will find so many things to love in this store that is proudly owned by and operated by two amazing US Veterans. The cons: You could spend hours here, I did.

Thought the owner was having a bad day or something, but based on the other reviews, it seems like he’s always like this. I wanted to throw something out but couldn’t find a trash outside. I asked someone behind the counter (likely the owner) if there happened to be a trash back there and he rudely told me “only if you buy something”… while I was excited to look around and potentially make a purchase, I was immediately turned off. The entire time I felt extremely not welcomed and uncomfortable - ended up taking my business elsewhere.

DON'T Go.I'm telling you now this "bussiness" is a scam. There are no prices on 90% of the items. And don't expect ur receipt to list prices either. (If you can even get one)The price is probably 50% extra to double even what any reputable tourist store would charge.I promise the "good reviews" have got to be mostly fake.I was concerned, so I asked someone when they came out of the store. This "veteran owner" charges at least $3 for Reese's PB cup. The same thing any other store sells for 1.25 or less.

Filled to the brim with fun touristy goods.LOTS OF MUGS.They ran out of cider donuts in the afternoon but they aren't in season.Staff was delightful on a Tuesday.Wheelchair accessibility: NO. Unfortunately you won't make it far in there with a standard width wheelchair.

Was given a bottle of the big moose ghost pepper ketchup. (Delicious) Ran out. Had to make a 1:40 min road trip to Hoosick NY. You can’t miss the place. On Rt. 7. Once inside it’s like you go back in time. The place is full of novelties as well as numerous spices, sauces, old school candies, games, puzzles, magnets, mugs etc. Bought several bottles of the ketchup as well as other condiments which I can’t wait to try. Looking forward to trying the Vidalia onion relish. If you like hot, hot then I’m sure you can find it here. The store is owned and operated by U.S vets 🇺🇸 Thank you for your service

We were there when it was closed but i love they keep all the fun decorations up. We have been when it was open, its really fun, something for every one great food. However be wise with kids its extremely crowded with stuff and small isles

expensive and rude service. don’t buy any food where you would expect it not have an expiry date. Bought a $9 bag of popcorn and it was stale. the guy at the desk ripped the bag open and said it was fine. he explained he bought bad sauerkraut yesterday and didn’t ask for a refund, and then asked why should he take a look. We asked for another bag or even to just get something cheaper like maple syrup. He didn’t want to do anything - my wife was scared - so we left empty handed.

Very cool store Veteran owned and Veterans employed business. Lots of interesting items in there. The cider donuts were delicious fresh melt in your mouth. The staff is very friendly and make sure you buy some of their BBQ rubs while there. Also give a military discount to those who served. I'll be back for sure next time I'm through there.

Frankly, I feel cheated by my visit to Big Moose Deli and Country Store. We were drawn in by their fun exterior and large “CIDER DONUTS” signs, and entered to see a packed store full of quirky merchandise. We made the unfortunate mistake of purchasing some. 6 cider donuts were $12, and were clearly made in a factory, nothing homemade or authentic about them. After buying some BOGO maple syrup it was clear that they had prices that were just roughly twice what you would expect to pay for decent Vermont Maple syrup. Overpriced and misleading. Should have just gone to Stewart’s.

Visited several years ago. Never knew of the place, found it on way to job site. Had great pork sandwich. It was so good I'd stop in every time I was passing. Nice hot sauce selection. Found some really good Vermont Maple Syrup to take home. Would stop in again if I ever make it back that way.

An amazingly huge store full of souvenirs and gag items. I agree with another customer that the guy who waited on me was civil but not friendly. The souvenirs are expensive but that's okay, they are souvenirs. But the clincher was a big sign when I first walked in about some Dare maple creme cookies. "Sale! Buy one, get one free!" (No price listed.) I bought donuts and a couple of other items and then added the cookies on. My bad, I didn't look at the price. When I got home I saw the cookies were $12 a box! So I had paid $6 a box. These cookies cost about $3.50 in the grocery store. PS: I threw half my cider donuts into the garbage - mealy and greasy.I will not go back!

What a fun place. We've driven by it many times while towing our trailer so we couldn't stop. This time we were in our car. The store is way bigger than it looks from the street. They have tons of stuff here. We loved the apple cider donuts...yum! Also found maple butter and even the hard to find cream drops!

This is a MUST GO TO stop going into Vermont or New York. We are from PA and we stop in EVERY time we visit our family in Vermont( on the way home). We LOVE small businesses and was so happy to see that is still was open when we visited in Mid May. We visit our family every 4th of July weekend so this year we stopped twice. Maybe taking one more trip up north to Maine and yes, we will stop again. This is a great unique store. It never gets old. Love all the nick naks and the cool jams, hot sauces, etc. Staff is great too.

Such a fun experience and atmosphere! We found some great hot sauces (all taste amazing and not too spicy to enjoy) along with GATOR Jam (ginger, apple, tangerine, orange, raspberry) and wildflower honey! I highly recommend the store and the products in photo! Big Moose has so many unique attributes, can't wait to visit again

Awesome store. Fun photo ops. It looks like there used to be more to it ( other buildings/outdoor space - maybe those are open in the summer? I visited in April). There are mugs, magnets, tees, puzzles, the requisite moose and bear figurines, stickers...tons of stuff literally stuffed into the store. Lots of old-fashioned candy, sodas, and jarred items. I bought peppermint ginger ale, Big Moose Deli Salsa, and Big Moose Deli Guava Jelly. All delicious.

We just went to the store. It was basically a candy and snack store with everything you've never heard of. We stopped for the apple cider donuts and they were phenomenal. The people that worked there were lovely. We'll be back next time we pass through.

Over priced tourist trap! It was fun to stop and check it out all the stuff they sell but would not buy most of it as it is way overpriced!
