This was a very relaxing bookstore with a great sitting area, which had an amazing view. Wide selection of used books, and quite a few older rare books as well. The owner was very kind, polite, and helpful , and the pricing of the books is extremely reasonable. It's a very large store, so plan a little longer in this one, and definitely take advantage of that calming view from the reading area.

A wonderful store, with a delightful pet cat wandering about, ran by a talented Illustrator whose work is great in both technical skill and in the stories behind them. A must-stop to both browse and experience the atmosphere.

This shop is wonderful! Handcrafted items, vintage clothes, jewelry, vinyl albums, and books. Plus a small library and very unique gifts. Really worth a look inside.

My favorite book store in all of Hobart Village! John was so informative and helpful. Well organized with a nice selection and surprisingly reasonable prices. Thank you for assisting me with the dance magazines John! Will make sure to stop in when we are in the area again

I know the place real well One of the buildings in the pics are the Historical Hobart Inn and Don Dales was the owner of the buildings but I've heard the book stores are really comfortable and warm feeling

This place is amazing. They have books from all eras, from many parts of the world, and in different states of condition. The prices are reasonable as well. The man and woman who helped us for extremely nice. We were impressed that the gentleman was dressed with a shirt and tie. That's something you don't see much anymore.

Great big bookstore! Really nice owner and pretty chill cat at the door. We were allowed to take some photos in the shop after a proposal down the road at the Bull and Garland and it was so cute! Can't wait to come back a peruse the shelves!

What a great bookstore, part of a highly enjoyable visit to all the bookstores in the book village of Hobart NY! John is friendly and knowledgeable, the store is spacious,well stocked and well organized and feels safe to visit, wearing your mask, in this new normal. A wonderful day trip for book lovers!

We visited in the winter. Many stores were closed. We visited a few of the shops that were open. I particularly enjoyed the selection at Lion Eyes Books and New York Books & Ephemera.

Very small selection of children's books. I was unhappily surprised by this! But the checkout guy was very friendly and tried to direct my kids to the correct areas...Kids paperback small books were more pricey than I expected for used (I guess bc consignment and not from donations? )
