Overall good. Pros: location, on the lake, renovated room, a restaurant and bar on site, boat rental possible, w pool. Cons: still under renovation (some cheap jobs in a room), very strange burning odor in the next morning (thought a fire), originally website stated breakfast included but no breakfast offered, very noisy Lake front area at night, pool was very dirty. Also no food available after 7:00 on Sunday evening. No chair nor desk/table in a room, no suitcase rack (needed to lay it on a floor) I hope this place will continue to improve and we will return.

Our group has been going here for 45 years and wasn't sure what to expect with ownership change. Yet thankfully with all the office Manger Aleesha did for our group made a smooth transition and incredible weekend . We look forward to working with Aleesha and the great staff at the Showboat for our stay next year . Thank you from all of us for all the hard work the staff put into making our stay so enjoyable. The renovations were well done and rooms super clean and comfortable .

Can’t say enough about how wonderful we were treated by all the staff. The food was fantastic. Many thanks to the Chef for visiting us and discussing the experience. Stopped with the boat to get something to eat. Waitress had a terrible attitude, when I asked for something nonalcoholic she stated that they have tap water. The descriptions of the food on the menu were an attempt to be classy but mostly don’t make sense and you can’t understand what most items are. We got chips and dip, a kids grilled cheese, and a reuben. The chips and dip were very subpar, the kids sandwich was cheap shredded cheese half melted on an old hoagie roll, and the reuben was edible but absolutely not worth the price.In addition there were many overly intoxicated people just feet away from the dining area, absolutely not a suitable environment for children.Stay away

Went to the restaurant for dinner, most of the food was very good. I asked for a box to take home the rest of the food and they cleared all the plates from the table, I thought they were boxing it for me but they throughout everything. The bruschetta was reaaallllllyyyyy disappointing :/ veggie bowl was delicious, and so was the house salad!

Although we stayed recently, our experience was not as favorable as we had hoped for. That is not to say we would be opposed to staying again sometime in the future.They are under new ownership, and they are trying to smooth out the kinks.

First time we visited, and we all agreed that it's definitely on our list to return to. The food and drinks were good, the staff was friendly and there was a lot of shade on that hot summer day. They had a large tent set up for the band that was playing there and lots of dock space for the customers that arrived by boat. There was really a good vibe and a nice breeze out on the deck. We will be back! :)

Truly a hidden gem. We had a beautiful room with a lake view. The owners are fantastic people, very accommodating. I wish the weather had not taken a turn for the worse or we would have stayed longer. The restaurant and bar staff are over the top and the food is good and reasonable as well. I can't wait for next year, see you then. Almost forgot, I woke up and was having my morning coffee, sitting out on the deck enjoying the morning and I got a firsthand look at a Bald Eagle chase a Blue Herron off of the dock WOW!!!

There are a bunch of different buildings - couple by the pool, above the bar, and one on the waterfront, which is a bit more expensive but totally worth it for the view and that's where we stayed. Our room was clean and spacious with a big balcony. It was amazing to see sunrise over the lake - so beautiful it takes your breath away.Live music is pretty good! You can hear it from the balcony, which has its pros and cons. It was great to hang out there listening to the band, enjoying the view and sipping wine. The music stops around 11pm, so if you're an early bird and want to go to be early it might be quite loud.Couple of small things - WiFi was flaky and worked on and off, and there was only coffee for one day in our room, even though we stayed there for three.Overall a great place to stay in Finger Lakes - at this point we stayed there twice!

Wow, I was pleasantly surprised and found it very nice experience all round, from the room ( which seemed to have been recently remodeled ) to the restaurant, which seemed to be reopening with new food and managers. The only let down was having to leave, but I think I found a hidden gem that I know I will be returning too!Rooms: Cool, Clean Quiet and ComfortableFood & drinks: Yum! I enjoyed everything I ordered during my stay.

The owners should spend time thinking critically about the direction of their investment. The restaurant and bar atmosphere is overwhelming in the evening with obnoxiously overplayed music pouring from the outdoor event tent. The music can be heard clearly from the rooms, even from the furthest room with the doors and windows closed. We could even feel the floors vibrating through the night until about 1 am. Capital has clearly been poured into the event venue with the motel accommodations begging for remediation. Paint and thrift store finishes should not be a standard to shoot for. The only upside to the room was the moderately improved bathroom which was still wanting improvement and the newer heating / cooling system. If you are a family, couple, or care about relaxing near the sanctuary of the beautiful lake Seneca after a perfect day of wine, cider, and beer chasing - look elsewhere. If you are looking for a bar to get smashed in while listening to off key cover bands desecrating the music you love so you can crawl back to a room with any barnacle that will cling to your anchor, you found the right spot.

Perfect spot tucked away at the SW end of Seneca Lake, this is THE Lake vacation destination u can soak up the beauty that is Seneca Lake (My personal fav of the finger lakes), rent a boat, chill by the pool, make smores by a cmap fire & make sure u check out the Windmill Farm & Craft Market while ur here!Nearby activities: -Rent a boat-Windmill Farm & Craft MarketFood & drinks: Showboat restaurant & Bar on site can cater to all these needs or u can take advantage of the grills & cook!

For a last second trip before it gets too cold and places close to the season this place was pretty decent. Hidden location off Rt 14 and on the lake. I deff want to come back when the bar is open and see the boats at the dock (bf and I stayed night after the bar closed for the season).Only down fall was the smell as we entered the room it was like an attic, I'd put a small space air freshener in each room before they are booked to help that.I'm from nearby Elmira, Seneca Lake was in my backyard. My bf is from Williamsport PA and enjoys any trip to the lake or the area. We gave this place a thumbs up.Rooms: Pretty decentNearby activities: Wineries, parks, lake, state parks, waterfalls south toward Watkins GlenNoteworthy details: Off rt 14 in a quiet area on the lake.

Awesome owners and staff. Went there during an outing for my sister-in-laws bachelorette party and it literally MADE THE WEEKEND! The regulars are kind and fun. The owner made sure we had a DD before serving us. They didn’t mind us being crazy girls and encouraged our fun time. Wishing these great people all the best with their awesome business.

This was our 1st visit and we loved it. We arrived by boat and our server Peyton was fantastic. The food was good and the drinks reasonably priced. Great having this place on the lake. Wish there were more like it!

I don't have experience with the motel, but we got takeout on a semi-busy Thursday night and food was ready in about 20-25 minutes, which was exactly what was estimated. I got the broiled haddock, which was very tasty and my wife had the gluten free pizza with tomatoes, onions, and peppers. She enjoyed it. The view of the lake is excellent, so we sat by the car and enjoyed it while waiting. Unfortunately dogs aren't allowed on the patio and dock or we would have dined in. I would recommend the food and would definitely go back.

The nice - upgraded from Motel room in the back to a waterfront room. The view was great! The shower was hot. Room was clean enough. The not- so- nice - they have a lot of work to do remodeling. Extremely dated. Musty smell. Trash Bins were full the 3 days we were there. No microwave or refrigerator. Ate at the restaurant one night, wing night. Food was good, for fried food. Lastly, no ice machine, you get your ice from the restaurant, so if it's closed, oh well! Plus there was no plastic bag to put in the ice bucket. Would perhaps like to revisit in the future when the motel has had major work done to it.

The food was not as good as we expected. We got 2 Rubin sandwiches that were not made from corn beef as they should have been. It looked and tasted like Hamburg. The waitress was not trained well she kept forgetting to bring drinks. All In a for a lake front resturant we expected more. Serving sizes were quite small.

The service was incredibly poor, we waited over an hour and 20 minutes for our food to arrive! We just ordered burgers and a small pizza, nothing fancy.) The waiter was rude; it took him 45 minutes to simply serve us water, and he just tossed the napkins at me. The food was bland, and I definitely could have cooked better myself! It was certainly not worth the money and we will not be back.

We thought it was delightful and fun atmosphere! Seemed to be a bunch of slips to pull right up and dock. Good bar food and drinks. Had a good cover band the night we were there. Inside was nice, but outside dockside was where the fun was happening!

I want to be very clear I don't like giving bad reviews, but this place was unprofessional and unsanitary to a level I have never seen. It felt as if some rich kids threw a party at their parents summer house. The windows Do not close, the a/c unit was melted to the wall heater, there were beer bottles scattered across the property for at least 2 days, which they proceeded to blame on other patrons. The food was soggy and dripping with grease, and my husband had to ask a drunk owner playing game on a female patron if they could turn the obnoxious level of outdoor music down so our 2 year old could sleep. This was after 1am. and The windows have no curtain so you best be prepared to rise at dawn. When confronting the owner about our issues we were simply told they were accommodating all of the people there. But last I checked we were there as paying returning clients who were forced to accommodate the new owners love for rap music and drinking on the job. It was unsanitary and trashy. Absolute junk for a nice lake vacation.

I wish I could give this place zero stars the new rooms are nice the rest should be shut down there are nice crawling around the rooms were musty smelling and I my family had to use sleeping bags because we were afraid of getting bed bugs 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. The only good part was the lake the restaurant that is part of the motel is alright.

I am not one to write a poor review, I believe (having served and managed for several years) that a place can have an off night. This was atrocious. It took 40 minutes to get our appetizer, two fried dishes that came out cold. Our food hadn't even been fired yet and we decided it was certainly not worth the wait. Our poor server had requested the manager (owner, maybe) come out and speak with us and he did not. Poor, poor customer service and quality of food. I will not be going back for a second chance thanks to the lack of care from the management. This is not how you run a successful hospitality business.

As far as the food goes, I definitely do not recommend. Possibly the worst food I have ever had from a restaurant. I ordered a chicken sandwich, all it came with was a piece of chicken and one single piece of lettuce. The location is great and has potential to be a hit on Seneca Lake but with bad food, and almost no options for sides on a Thursday the chances are slim. The show Bar rescue should be contacted; rescue this place! We need good quality restaurants on the water.

Stayed 3 nights for a delightful getaway.... New owner Mark was extremely professional and understanding when we informed him about a mattress situation, he did exactly what Any caring business owner would do and UPGRADED US TO A LOVELY LAKEFRONT room for our 3rd night.... refused to charge us the higher fee .... despite some picky, demanding and frankly rude reviews, we definitely will be back. All the staff were kind, accommodating and trying their best to help the new owners make this a fun and memorable place for many years to come... so CUT THESE HARD WORKING PEOPLE A BREAK and if you have nothing reasonably fair/kind to comment on just hush 🤫
