Always easy to get help and get what you need. If your not sure, you can call ahead of time and actually speak to competent and kind employees that can be very helpful. Great place for any lumber, tools, and other stuff!

Only get one star for politeness. I called ahead for what I needed/wanted and was told most of what I would need was there. Great. So I drove down went to the desk per the phone call, waited probably average time then was told less than half of what I needed and only half of what I was told on the phone was there. Oh well, I paid for them, rent to the yard for pick-up and waited quite a while. Finally he went in checked around and came back saying they didn't have ANY. NONE. So back in for a refund and home with nothing in hand, only frustration

They were totally helpful, even when I changed my mind a half dozen times while we figured out how to make things work. They were knowledgeable and generous with their time, and they let me take more than I needed so I could return what I didn't use and save myself some trips. They even gave my dog some cookies! They've got everything you need for the quick repair and improvement to larger projects. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Free pop corn. Prices are a bit more than a home depot or Lowes but if you join their rewards club the coupons and discounts equal it out.

This Williams Lumber was previously Cross Lumber a family owned business that operated for many years. It was purchased by Williams Lumber also a family owned business. As a general contractor I frequently did business at this and other Williams Lumber locations. I always had a good experience with Williams Lumber. Their prices are competitive and they will special order at the customers request. I used a lot of 2x cedar products in my work and Williams usually had anything I needed in stock. The store in Rhinebeck has a wide variety of building products, tools, landscaping, gardening and even extensive work clothes available. I would highly recommend Williams Lumber for all your building needs.

I have overall been very happy with the knowledgable and helpful staff, but recently, the staff here went above and beyond. I was actually calling with a question about a sliding screen door on the Ace website, which was out of stock. When the staff member confirmed that it was a discontinued item, she asked if I'd be interested in having the existing door re screened. Long story short, I had it done, the person doing it called me and offered me additional choices, and I have the best screen door ever now, for 1/3 the cost of replacement. These employees really care! Thank you!

The William's Lumber High Falls yard staff is amazing. They're helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. As for the people at the lumber counter, more often than not, they're almost always rude, unprofessional and down right nasty.
