This is a very friendly local business with a team of dedicated employees. I highly recommend two purchase from this business.I went looking for a small wood screw For a piece of ikea furniture. It was an odd size. The manager spent a few minutes looking for the screw a very inexpensive item. He gave me his time attention and service as if I was spending a thousand dollars.

Like others have said, it's a "friendly local business". It's not a mom and pop hardware store though, it's still ACE, a national chain. The problem is that it's run like a mom and pop when it's not. The stock of items listed online is often inaccurate, sizes are wrong, parts listed in stock online aren't there etc. I expect this stuff from the standard "big box" stores, items go "missing" etc., but literally the only reason I go to ACE is when I REALLY need a specific item quickly, because they're local and closer to home. If it says you have it online, and it says you have it in your system, then you should have it, period. If you don't have it, then I might as well go to the big box store the following day where I know they'll have the part I'm looking for, or better yet just order it online. I can overlook the frequently inflated prices that ACE has, I can overlook the smaller selection, what I can't overlook is incorrect stock. Hopefully these issues can be rectified in the future by running a full store inventory and comparing it to what they say they have online, because my patience is starting to run short with the number of times I've come and they don't have what they say they do.

This is my favorite place to shop, they always have what I need. Rodger the store manager helped me out recently and went out of his way to make sure I got exactly what I needed for my latest home project. 5 stars all around!

Always great to get a neighborhood hardware place and avoid the warehouse type places whenever possible. The staff here is consistently helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. They treated me the same when I was buying big purchases as when I bought, literally, only 4 washers.

I shop here regularly and it’s a great experience overall. Always someone trying to help and very knowledgeable staff. That’ there’s only one improvement I would make and that to Open the second register. I’ve asked several times and the staff sort of hems and haws but it really makes no sense. They usually have 2 to 3 people standing up front by the register while a line forms. Please just open the second register and your perfect. I had to walk out today after waiting 10 min on a line of 3 people.

Store Manager very unprofessional. Very rude and should not be in the hardware business. Store itself is sloppy compare to other Ace Hardware stores. When I asked to speak to the owners of the store who were contacted by the Ace Hardware Customer Relation department. They would not even call me. With that kind of customer care it explains why the store is like it is. I STRONGLY suggest NOT SHOPPING THERE and going to another Hardware Store. You will be better off !

Ace Hardware's online inventory for their stores IS NOT trustworthy. I scanned various Ace Hardware stores for some specific items I needed and saw that the Hewlett location noted availability. Great. I placed the order for in-store pick up and my credit card was charged. About 30 minutes later I received an email stating that the items (which showed that they were in stock at the store) was not really available and that they would be shipped to the store for a future pick up. OK, not the best scenario but still acceptable. 10 minutes later yet another email comes in, the items are not in stock nor will they be and so my order was cancelled, sorry. What a waste of time. The website STILL shows availability after checking - so DO NOT TRUST the online inventory system. In my case Ace Hardware can take an order, they can charge your credit card for the order, but they cannot fulfill the order.Update: In retrospect I should have noted that my issue was not with the actual personnel at this location since my order was an online one for pickup at this location. After reading the store's detailed response regarding corporate vs. their location I understand this is an apparent IT/inventory management system deficiency, which is not the fault of the physical store but rather with the corporation itself. I thank the store for the time they took to respond and have updated my review to reflect the time they took to address my concern.

We had to fix all the drafty areas in our house. Phil from Ace Hardware was fantastic. He’s an expert on how to fix/repair all places that are drafty. He’s not only knowledgeable, but patient too. We had many questions as we needed to address several different areas. After we made all the repairs, our heat went up 5 degrees within a few hours! Great advice Phil, thank you 😁

Love going here…I refuse to go to Home Depot or Lowe’s. Takes forever to find help, and they’re not nearly as knowledgeable. You walk into Ace of Hewlett, see a friendly face and get help and tips immediately. Kevin and Joe are my favorite guys there but anyone working there can always help.

Customer service is disastrous. I bought a reel to wind up a hose onto. The reel was bought on May 25, 2019. I kept the receipt and all necessary paperwork (manual, receipt, etc.,) On May 28, 2019, it was found that the reel did not work as advertised. I attempted to return the reel to the Ace Hardware in Hewlett, and the manager of the store, Lindsey was extremely rude and curt. He tried to demonstrate to me that the reel aspect worked, but the automatic "reel feed", as I watched him attempt to wind the hose onto the reel, did not feed evenly, but rather bunched the hose to one side. I called him out on this, and he said "oh, well the product is used, I'm not going to give you your money back." (Well, yeah, one has to use a product like that to determine that it is in fact, defective.) I asked him for my money back, but because the product was used and in his eyes a manual reel-feeding mechanism is OK, he refused to give me a refund.I asked him for his name and the # to corporate. He said his name was Lindsey, and that I could call up corporate myself. He then gave me the receipt back as though I was wasting his time, and went back to socializing with his associates / underlings about fishing and other leisure activities. I was incensed by his apathetic behavior, and left the product for him to deal with. In contrast, Home Depot and Lowe's are more reasonable and accept that hardware is meant to be used, and if defective, returned in a used (but not abused) state. Unless you plan on putting your hammers on plinths and your drills on display in a museum, you enjoy condescending managers who don't feel hardware should be used - and returned if defective, I would avoid this place and look at Home Depot, Lowe's, or even Chinatown, for a better hardware-buying experience.

Not a bad hardware store. It's convenient because it close. The only issue I had is that it seemed to not have as much as a super store would because it is smaller. So you're a bit limited in terms of variety and options, but so far, it satisfied the things that I needed.

Normally, I like this store. Friendly helpful staff, etc. Today annoyed me. Yesterday I bought a can of white spray paint. Today I tried to use it but it clearly had had some sort of problem. Paint (dried) was all over top when I took the cap off and, now that I have a good one, I can see that the little red piece in the nozzle was even missing. I returned it but the person replacing it clearly believed that I had used it and let the nozzle clog up. He said "when done, turn it upside down and spray until it runs clear and you won't have this problem NEXT TIME." Next time? Screw you, I never used it and your product was defective. Thanks for replacing it with one that seems ok - we'll see when I get home.

I recently purchased an EGO snow blower from ACE Hardware, Hewlett. I first called with questions regarding the item and was very pleased with their product knowledge. The next day I went to the store and purchased the item; I found the entire staff to be consummate professionals.

They both have excellent costumer service skills and you can tell they truly care about helping their customers.

I had a great experience shopping for holiday lights and a wreath at this ACE Hardware. Stu was helpful enough to look up the C3 bulbs that I wanted and when he was unsuccessful in locating them at this location, he patiently explained then benefits of getting C6 lights as an alternative. He also helped me locate a prelit wreath while Angel was lovely enough to check to see if the lights and wreath were working before I left the store (he also made sure that I got the most out of their holiday sale). Hannah was also patient enough with me while ringing me up for my items. All and all, I'll definitely make sure that I return to ACE for my holiday and hardware needs in the future.

Talk about service and variety. This ACE location has both. I have started many projects w HD but *completed them* w help from this team. I hope they never leave this spot. We are lucky to have them. Beats HD check out and Green Acres traffic all day. Plus you get PHIL!!!

The absolute worst retail experience I have ever had. Their manager Lindsey Gray has his entire sub staff fearful of him. I waited 15 minutes for Gray to open up this location this morning. Finally after a while he figured out how to shut the alarm off and let in customers in the dark. I mentioned he should negate his trip and fall risks by putting on the lights and this thug let me have it with a tirade of back talk. I picked out my items and when I wheat to check out he was purely racist! I asked if a coupling would fit the hose I was buying and he said... I’m not helping you with nothin. Words came about he then called the police to have me removed. I just wanted to buy a hose and light switch. Called corporate office and they were not happy...WOW in Hewlett we have this going on??? Stay a way from this place. Unless you are ... ohh well the screw turns !maybe this is the best this store can get.

WHAT A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE that I had with a lovely and knowledgeable man named Joe A. I inherited a classic KitchenAid mixer and decided to take it apart to clean and lubricate it. I was able to put it back together but unfortunately, I stripped one of the screws. I contacted KitchenAid directly and they said that they could not be of help to me because they no longer have the schematics for that specific mixer. I figured that I messed up big time and that I ruined it. Several friends commented to me that I should go to Ace Hardware in Hewlett and ask for Joe A. HE IS SO KIND AND HELPFUL. He went above and beyond to make sure that I had the proper screw that I needed based off of my description, NO SCHEMATICS!!! He looked at the stripped screw, found the screw that he thought would work. Joe A. went as far as to ask Stew if he could help. Stew took a screw and sanded it down in order to make it fit properly! AMAZING!!!! I didn’t get this good of treatment from KITCHENAID.

It's been about 5 years since I've walked out of this location completely disgusted with staff and pricing. I happen to swing by yesterday for 5 dollars worth of product, figuring that a trip to the Depot was not necessary. Looks like I'll stay out of Ace for another 5 years....
