On our recent visit to the area, my wife & I stopped in Red Newt Cellars. It came highly recommended by friends we met on our trip. Glad they did.The person who did our wine tasting did a great job. Very friendly. Explained the wines well (forgot her name). We found their wines had such a great taste. Full bodied. Many to choose from too. Sooo good! Must have been. I know I bought every wine from my tasting. I usually never do that. We bought a case and probably 3 bottles beside that.Just like other wineries in the area, tastings were very reasonable. It was very clean, and staff was very friendly. View of Lake Seneca outside was great. We would definitely make this a stop when we go back. I know we will be purchasing many bottles again!

Came to Newt Cellars on Saturday to celebrate my son's engagement. Lovely building with a great tasting room upstairs. We were told by a friendly host that an event was taking place upstairs but we could go downstairs for a tasting at the bar or seated for a flight. Downstairs was very nice also and we figured we would order some flights. After a few minutes, an older gentleman who was our waiter approached us in a rather odd fashion. He seemed hostile and aggressive. Not sure why exactly. Had we not been there for a special occasion we probably would have walked out without ordering. He did eventually lighten up and the flights were enjoyable but I do not imagine that we would ever go back. His mood really put a damper on a very special day. We've had so many good experiences at so many other establishments in the area.

Red Newt is a beautiful venue to sit and relax with some wine and appetizers. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It's pet friendly in the tasting room too! Highly recommend their wines.

Absolutely incredible. Finally visited after having tried a couple of their wines before that I loved and was expecting to find a couple more to buy....and ended up leaving with 15 bottles. The staff is very welcoming, and our server Heather was super knowledgeable and helpful. They make some incredible wines here, especially if you prefer dry. Not to mention the great selection of bites to have on the side.Definitely one of if not my new favorite winery. Cannot recommend enough.

Nice smaller winery with friendly staff wo meet you on arrival. Indoor and outdoor seating options. Tasting flights were served table side off of the menu options provided. Nice views from the patio of Seneca Lake. Snack options available as well.

Stayed overnight here with our camper through Harvest Hosts. Enjoyed a flight of wine on their beautiful deck on a Saturday afternoon. Enjoyed a coffee on the deck Sunday morning. Good wine, coffee and great staff. Will definitely return.

We had a perfect visit to the Red Newt. The wine selections were great and the cheese & bread stone we had pleased all who shared it. It was a perfect autumn day just after the leaves began to change. The view of the lake was terrific!

Great service all around. I believe our sommelier’s name was Stacey. The view from this place would be amazing on a clear day.I wished it wasn’t raining so we could have relaxed for a while on the porch with our delicious food. I ordered the special-beet and lentil patty on anadama bread. My friend had a grilled cheese on anadama bread and both were VERY DELICIOUS! The bread was sooo so good. I could only eat half of my beet and lentil patty sandwich and saved the other half for the next day and it was still good! The way the wine is listed is very easy to read and I love that they provide all of the information about each wine on the sheet. I loved the riesling. Lost of mineral flavor. Very good.

Great atmosphere. Pretty views.. wine and food was good. Due to COVID they have chosen not to do true wine tasting. (Only reason for the deduction of stars)But you can get half pours of wine and tadpoles which are about 2 glasses in a small bottle to share. It was a nice visit during a gloomy winter day.

Excellent riesling, 7 different varieties. The bistro is excellent. The spicy tomato soup is a "can't miss".

The service we received at this winery might be the best around Seneca lake. Meredith and Paige treated us as if we were their own family with kindness and so much care for our experience at Red Newt! On top of the amazingly pleasant experience, the wines and food were awesome!

5/6 wines I tasted here were excellent, a significantly better ratio than most local wineries--certainly worth a stop.

I absolutely LOVED this spot for a wine tasting. This was some of my favorite wine I tried on our wine trail - I ended up buying a couple of bottles. The staff is so nice and make you feel right at home. The interior is beautiful, as well as the views. I hope I get to come back someday!

We really enjoyed our tasting experience. John was super knowledgeable and provided our group of 4 adults with not only information on their own wines, but even the history of the area and recommendations on where else to go.

Walked into Red Newt with a bunch of friends. I (a black woman) said we were there for a tasting. I was told there would be a wait. No problem, it's a Saturday afternoon. I jokingly said to one of my white friends, you should use your privilege and see if we can get seated sooner. My friend asked and they were told they could taste immediately...inside or outside. I can't say it was racism, but I can't say it wasn't

The best Riesling (Finger Lake winner) and Rosé I had since 2019 that I have been visiting. I am never disappointed…

1st off we were greeted by a very rude person. Asked we had reservations. No. The place had only 4 customers there. So many free tables. She left and returned to say they'll seat us. We ordered from the choices pre set flights. Then another person brought the tasting out in small glasses. We were told to scan qr code for explanations of wine videos. What? Then we had to try and pour wine into the wine glasses. What a mess! A girl finally came over to say pour with confidence! What?? Wine was fine, but the service left a sour taste in our mouths!

Red Newt is my new favorite in the Finger Lakes! The wine is really really good and they have a large variety. They have these cute little pours they call tadpoles that come in a very very small wine bottle. The bottle has the type of wine and describes it so you know what exactly you are getting. You even have the option to scan a QR code and someone will come over and talk to you about the wine. We also got the spiced pecans and they were amazing. They have a nice outside patio (limited lake views) and the workers were very knowledgeable and helpful. They also have a huge selection of wines to buy there. Will definitely be back!

A beautiful scenery from the dining room. We would prefer the patio but it was raining while we were there. Classic Cheese Slate is fantastic! My husband, who is IPA beer lover, really enjoyed 2013 Gewurztraminer “Curry Creek” very much! I tried the wine flight, #4 Riesling (2 oz each of 4 Rieslings. I like Lahoma “the Knoll” and Tango Will Oaks. It’s “Circle” is too sweet for me. Nice simply decorated dining room.

We stopped here for a quick lunch and a tasting. The food was really good. My husband and I both got the BLT grilled cheese and soup. The food was fresh and delicious. The bread is made on site and was fantastic. The soups were a spicy creamy tomato and a potato soup. Both had a smooth and silky texture and great flavor. The tasting was good. There was a large variety of wine to try and the lady conducting the tasting had a great knowledge of all the products. This place was great and I would definitely return in the future

Went to about 5 different wineries and Red Newt was our first (not to mention our first ever wine tasting) and favorite! The people were all so nice and explain every wine perfectly. The food was great and the view from the deck is beautiful. You really walk out feeling like a friend! We ended up purchasing 3 bottles of wine and plan on returning!

Very friendly and tasty bistro food. I tried the meatloaf grilled cheese which really was good start to finish. The wine tasting was a great value at 7 for $5 and turned me on to buying two nice bottles I otherwise would not have so easily found on label alone. Nice folks we will be back.
