I have read good and bad reviews but I like to give benefit of the doubt. I have been taking my dog here for 4 years, I moved farther away drive past several other vet clinics. I won’t go anywhere else. I have a husky with horrible separation anxiety he went from destroying drywalls to sleeping peacefully in his kennel. He has a sensitive stomach and switched his diet over and he loves it and formed poops now!As for reviews of prices, Pet insurance, vet bills are high every where. if you want to get yucky care for less go do it but quality care comes at a price if you can’t afford it don’t get a dog. Read another review about an emergency, this place is not a 24/7 emergency vet clinic, they say that and suggest places to go during their off hours.Quality care, friendly staff, Dr. Cornelius is amazing and takes care of dogs like they are her own.

I live in Rome and called every animal hospital and veterinarian I could find, including Camden, explained that my dog was showing symptoms of a stroke and was in horrible pain and not one would see him before one or two weeks! Rome hospital gave me the number to VCA New Hartford hospital and said they can't see a dog suffer, can I get him there by 11:20 the next morning? By then my dog (and I) had been up for almost 48 hours crying with no sleep! I wanted to kiss the receptionist Maureen! I was greeted by a very kind and professional staff that immediately went to work on my best buddy and service dog Itty! His Dr.s name was Dr. Beattie and her concern and love for animals shined through like the sun shines! I immediately knew he was in excellent care!After her thorough checkup she asked if we would wait about an hour for blood work as that would tell the story.As my friend and I sat out in the car and I cried for about 45 minutes all of a sudden Dr. Beattie came out the back door waving the results. It's not a stroke!!! He has Lyme disease!!!Lyme disease!!!I highly recommend VCA hospital, Dr. Beattie and the whole staff!!! THANK YOU so much for loving my baby boy the way I do!!!

I strongly suspect that the root of the issues I had here is that the VCA corporate overlords want the vets to see so many animals that they don't have time to give each one the care they deserve.But whatever the cause, my elderly dog's medicine wasn't called in when they said it would after his first visit here. He went through the weekend without it, resulting in extreme discomfort and, by Monday morning, syncope episodes or possibly seizures. When I called and explained that he needed his medicine urgently, I was told that they would "try to get to it by the end of the day." Not good enough.When I finally was able to pick up the script after four or five phone calls, there was a mathematical error on it that caused further delays at the pharmacy.My dog's health history is complicated and he's on an unusual combination of medicines. I understand how there could be confusion. But they should have taken the time to figure it out. They could have called our previous vet back in Texas for clarification. If the situation was reversed I guarantee that's what our previous vet would have done.I'm giving this two stars because I actually do think that for an animal with more straightforward needs, this vet would be fine. But I don't have enough time left with my dog to waste it on people who don't have time for him.

Best place around to bring a new kitten. They have special programs to help you save money. Staff is generally concerned and very caring. Love it here. Highly recommend.

The prices are extremely elevated for the lack of care given to the facility. Since their expansion, service quality and just basic building cleanliness has plummeted. My pets exam room was covered in DAYS of animal hair and food particles all over the floor. I could not imagine a person coming into this space for care. Animals can pass deadly infections and viruses as well, this "hospital' should have basic standards for quality and cleanliness, especially with this pricing. My appointment was 45 minutes late for a simple vet tech allergy shot and it is 120 dollars !!! They also have discontinued their scripts with online pharmacies to maximize their profits and not allow patients to look elsewhere for lower prices. Because of the scarcity of vets, I believe this facility is taking advantage of the consumer and are not even keeping services on par with the past. How far this vet office has fallen since the days of Dr. Rodriguez. I would have given 1 star if it were not for staff friendliness..

I have been with NHAH for over ten years, back when Dr. Mora was my dogs vet. I currently have 5 animals who go there, and have two enrolled in the VCA care club. I had been noticing over the last few years the wait time increasing as well as the price, and the compassion/person to person time and conversations about my pets decreasing. I remember always getting Maureen on the phone, who was kind friendly and always helpful. I recently had an emergency where I needed assistance and was put on hold first for 13 minutes, and then greeted with the cost of what this would be and if that was “okay”. When I expressed this was a life and it was priceless I was then put on hold again for 7 minutes, and told to drive to “Latham” instead, an 80 minute drive vs. 45. The devastation this caused and the stress was unfathomable. I informed them I would never be back and how disappointed I was that they failed me in such a time of need, her response “okay!”. Never again, big corporate took away one of the most wonderful vet clinics and I am far too scared to ever put a pets life in their hands again.

The staff is so caring and kind. They really do care about the animals, and have been there for us through several pets through their lives. Their location is also very convenient for us and the parking lot is safe!

The pricing of this place is absolutely criminal. Brought my dog in recently to be seen and they ran his blood and gave him anti nausea pills and the bill was $1000. Huge bills with very little care is all you get here.

Dr Alyssa Cornelius and her staff are INCREDIBLE. We had a very scary experience with another vet (waterville vet) and I decided to come to NH Vet for a 2nd opinion. NH ran all tests, rushed the results and told me he was negative of all diseases waterville said he had (Lyme and final stage kidney disease). My dog had zero symptoms of anything and just by looking at him you knew he didn’t have kidney disease. Thankfully he is fine but the sad truth is there is a dog out there that isn’t. VCA NH took such great care of us today and understood the immense stress and anxiety we have been through this week. Dr Cornelius is a god sent and her staff is so professional and friendly. TRUST YOUR GUT and get a vet YOU CAN TRUST!!!! Our pets have NO voice. Be their voice. Choose Dr Cornelius and the staff at NH. Thank you for giving us a merry Christmas!

This is the best vet clinic for a wide radius around here! I have 10 dogs so I've pretty much tried them all and this is the ONLY 1 that has any after hours emergency plan! That's a HUGE plus

Fantastic recent experience. I brought my dog here urgently as I am not from the area. The staff was more than willing to accommodate us and provide my dog the care he needed. I am also so happy that the practice is fear-free certified. There is a calming presence at this hospital which can make a huge difference for nervous pets.

They took my cat in the same day we called for an emergency visit. The staff there were wonderful and friendly. They did everything they needed to do to the T and they even did an awesome job making sure my cat was safe and comfortable. This is mine and my families newest addition and baby to our family and will do anything for her. Yes the prices were a little high and steep but worth it since "sweetpea" is now officially our family member.

I can't say thank you enough to this team!!! I travel for work and needed to get my puppy in for his next set of vaccines. They were THE ONLY clinic to get me in so I can stay on his vaccine schedule! Dr. Cornelius was absolutely awesome and when I do return to the area this will definitely be the only clinic I will use!!! I am beyond grateful!!! THANK YOU!!!!!

There’s many things I love about this place & their Vets, BUT, I loathe the fact that they push unnecessary vaccines & require it to be a patient. My dogs are indoors & not subjected to other animals or parks, just our fenced backyard. Hence I don’t like to pump them full of vaccines they don’t need, other than what’s required by law. Also, they took away emergency services, which was 95% why we chose them. So now we must go to Syracuse for emergencies, & traveling that far is not easy for me. Very bad choice because no we’re forced to look elsewhere. They are good with my dogs & handling them but due to above, we now begin our search.

Visit went ok. Communication method needs improvement. Still more expensive than I would prefer but Dr J is a peach. 2 basic things I asked staff for I had to call after I got home to re request.

The absolute worst experience with a vet in my life. The only reason they would receive even one star is because of the very sweet vet assistant that apologized and gave me advice to care for my cat after the abusive veterinarian stormed out of the room. My 11+ year old indoor cat has been vaccinated in previous years, she is not however vaccinated yearly, which he clearly took issue with. She does not see the outside world so I choose not to give her unnecessary shots and unnecessary stress. I had warned them ahead of time on the paperwork that my cat will scratch and bite if she is touched in places she does not like. He was checking her rear end, her ears and her mouth, so she became upset and was trying to scratch. He immediately got impatient and angry and began to be very rough with her. He was grabbing her by the scruff and picking her up and speaking in a nasty tone about me being fined for him being "bit by an unvaccinated cat". I also included on the paperwork that she responds negatively to loud noises. So explain to me why the "experienced veterinarian" believed yelling and scolding my cat would elicit a positive, calm response. I understand an unruly cat is difficult to handle, but you would think that after thirty years he would be able to do so without getting angry and rough with the scared animal he is supposed to care for. He then began berating me when I calmly asked if he's ever handled an unruly cat before, because it was not evident to me based on the "care" my cat was receiving. I will never bring any animal back and I will advise every person with a pet to stay away from this awful place.

Service and staff are always outstanding. Hospital is always very clean and tidy. I would never take my puppies anywhere else. Dr. Regner is absolutely amazing, our dogs are very healthy thank God so we don't have to make any extra visits, but she always talks to us like we're family, like it's only been a few days since our last chat. She is so loving to our dogs, as if they were her own. I look forward to seeing her smiling face when we visit. The staff truly love what they do and it shows!! Feels like going home!

After a routine checkup, our sweet boy had a seizure as we were about to leave. Unfortunately they were unable to save him, but they acted quickly to attempt CPR. We will forever be grateful for their efforts and Dr. Harkins is just amazing and made sure to give us some time to grieve our unexpected loss.

Called before bringing in our older dog that was attacked and bitten several times by an aggressive neighbor's dog. We were asked if we were patients and then told not to bring him in. Don't call yourself a vet "hospital" if you're not. You should be ashamed. Clearly don't care about an animal's welfare. Jerks. I wish I could give you no stars.
