Called 1130 am Easter weekend to make an appointment oil change and tires balanced was told 1pm and about 1 hr to complete the work. So I showed up 10 mins early and my vechile was taken right in and 1 hr later the work was completed. Very Happy with the Service and Professionalism. Price was fair and definitely will return again when in the area. Thanks Pep Boys!!

I usually donā€™t bring my vehicle to Pep Boys, but I had a great experience this time. Their new manager Rob is excellent to deal with and provided great customer service. Would definitely recommend using them with him in charge.

Service manager was great but the tech that worked on my vehicle cannot follow simple instructions. Tires were to be mounted, balanced, and new valve stems installed and sensors recalibrated. The only this he did right was mount the tires. They were more unbalanced when I got the vehicle back than before I brought it in and he failed to install the new valve stems and pressure sensors. Also dropped my vehicle off at 10:30am for an 11am appointment and they didnā€™t complete my vehicle until 4:20pm

I arrived to pik up my vehicle to find the car running and driver's window in the down position despite the downpour that was occurring. I can assume the car was left running for about 45 minutes. I was fortunate nothing was missing, as the vehicle was left unsecured. I was provided a small towel to dry out the interior myself, as no one volunteered to dry it for me. Very disappointing experience t the New Hartford, NY store.

I got 4 tires and a wheel alignment, it didn't seem like they did the wheel alignment and now I realized they scratched all 4 of my rims installing the tires"Update"After several weeks dealing with the pepboys management, witch has been a joke to say the least. There refunding me my money, meanwhile my rims are still scratched, I didn't get a apology or anything and there acting like it's a corporate thing and not there fault!! What a joke they are, and the only reason I agreed to a refund is to put this whole thing behind me. The manager Nathan is useless and his assistant manager only shows up when he wants too. I'm never going back to pepboys again!

I called for an estimate to have a headlight bulb changed on a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was told it would take 21/2 hours of labor and it would cost me $300 for the labor. Said they wouldnā€™t be able to get bulb. Long story short I googled it bought the bulb fro auto store and installed it in a half hour. I m a 63 yr old woman who is not a mechanic. Pep boys should be ashamed of themselves

We originally brought our car in for an oil change. An inspection by the Pep Boy technician of our tires revealed 2 bald tires. Since we were going on a long distant trip, it was a relieve to have this issues resolved immediately!

Pep Boys is a jokeā€¦.They were having a buy two get two tires free deal. I tried to get the deal through my local PepBoys. The Liverpool, ny Route 57 store. I spoke to John the manager. He said we only have two tires and that New Hartford has 4. I asked if he could have two shipped. He said he couldnā€™t because their parts department closed. So I ordered the 4 in New Hartford. Set up my appointment for the Friday of that week. I drove out there (which is a little over an hour from my house). I go in and tell the guy at the counter that I have an appointment.He looks it up and says I donā€™t think we have them. I said I ordered them for today. He said heā€™ll go look. He came back and said we only have two. I said I ordered 4 and reserved them for today. He said welp I donā€™t know what to tell you we donā€™t have them. I said you realize I just drove over an hour to get here. He said I donā€™t know what to tell you. I said what does reserving the tires mean. He could give two craps. I remembered that the manager from Liverpool said he had two. I called him and they still had them. I said Iā€™ll buy these two and come there to buy the two from you and have them installed. He said nope you canā€™t do that. You have to deal with them. I said arenā€™t you all Pep Boys. He said nope you have to have them order more and deal with them. I said I live by your store in Liverpool. Iā€™m not driving back out here again. He said well if you want the deal. I said I already drove out here today to get the tires I ordered. He said thatā€™s the way it isā€¦.Very rude, condescending and not at all customer focused. So ai left the store and called their corporate office number. Told them what happened and they said someone would call me back. 3 weeks later no call.I called corporate again and this time someone called me from the New Hartford store. The manager Pat. I told him the storyā€¦I told how Ed at the counter was so not caring about customer service..For some reason Pat shared that he had a tire guy he wants to throw through the window..I guess he wanted to get it off his chest. So, if you know the tire guy at the New Hartford storeā€¦please share with him.How his manager feels. Donā€™t know if Pat would act on his feelings. The way he handled this situationā€¦He could go hands on. I told Pat that while I was at the store and realizing what John said about the two tire he had and NEW Hartford had. I would buy the two from them and go to Liverpool and buy the two and have them put on. I said it seemed like and easy resolution to this problemā€¦.but John (manager in Liverpool) said no. Again Pat shared that John thinks he knows it all and even thinks heā€™s Pats bossā€¦I guess Pat had a lot on his chest he wanted to get off. So Pat said heā€™d look at the next day. The next day Pat says Iā€™m looking at a Goodyear tire (Maxlife). I said that will work. Let me knowā€¦.almost 2 weeks go by no response from Pat. I texted him on a Tuesday asking what going on. He said he was sick and would be in the store on Thursday. Thursday comes I hear nothingā€¦nothing Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I called his numberā€¦it hung up twice and the third timeā€¦He was clicking something into the phone. So I called their corporate office again. So that where Iā€™m at. No resolution to an easy problemNo one from corporate called meHere are the playersPat the manager in New Hartfordā€¦..again if you know the tire guy let him know how Pat feelsā€¦.just so heā€™s on guardā€¦in case Pat acts on his feelings.Ed at the front desk in New Hartfordā€¦he looks like heā€™s retired and is just doing this to make ends meetā€¦.doesnā€™t really careJohn the manager in Liverpoolā€¦who started me on this journey to New Hartfordā€¦minus him saying that New Hartford had the tiresā€¦I wouldā€™ve never looked in New Hartford for tiresā€¦.John does seem like an arrogant personā€¦very condescending in his conversation with meā€¦ā€¦Folks to show you how despicable Pep Boys isā€¦.You see their response. Awful services. Few days ago I toke my car for a 60k basic regular full service and they told me that my car had an engine display on upon giving me the car back after they did the service. They claimed it was already on, which was a lie. So no big deal I said I will check with Toyota since PepBoys give me the car back. Paid $170 for the service and started to drive home. Half mile in every warning lights on my car started to flashing on and my car basically wouldnā€™t go above 20 miles extremely dangerous. I pullover at the Toyota because it wasnā€™t safe to drive back to pepboys and left my car at Toyota for a diagnosis. Turned out that someone st PepBoys somehow left cables unplugged causing this. Cost me another $150 just to have that fixed at Toyota. Next day I went back to PepBoys with the Toyota description of what happened and their employees treated me like I was crazy and kept saying that they didnā€™t touch anything and my car was already like that even though my car was perfectly fine driving in. They refused to reenburse me. I will never take my car there again and I would give it a zero if I could. I am extremely disappointed and angry because it could caused me to have an accident by allowing me to get in the road like that. šŸ˜” I do not recommend that place šŸ‘ŽšŸ‘ŽšŸ‘ŽšŸ‘ŽšŸ‘Ž

CAW THIS REVIEW HAS BEEN UPDATED CAW CAW AND MY REVIEW STILL STANDS.Three associates standing around looking at their cellphones when I was trying to get help with some problems with my car.Also after my purchase I decided to go over to service desk to schedule an oil change. Over 15 minutes go by and nobody even attempted to come to the service desk. This is while the sales associates were on their phones in the other room next door caw caw.If you look my review history I very rarely give a one star review, but you guys honestly deserve it. Treat people better caw caw.

I always believed that this was a place I could trust. It's just another workshop where they steal from you and don't do a good job. Yesterday I changed my tires, I paid for alignment, so I can see that they didn't do it. They made me pay for the TPMS valves and they never installed them. I'm sure I'm not the first to be robbed like this. I called to complain and they told me that they forgot to put them in. I should have read the reviews before taking my car to this place. Be careful with this place.

After my car was there for an hour and a half I was told they dont have any instock and there was nothing they could do.Everyone I have talked to lately said dont go there I see why.I went there because of low treads and slow tire leak... didnt even put air in my tire.

I had an appointment to have tires mounted and balanced, also an alignment. They got the car in right away and had it done fast. when leaving I noticed my steering wheel was off center going straight. Also I have a bad tire shake at 50mph and above, tire balance not done correct. I would recommend going somewhere where they are capable of preforming basic auto maintenance correct.

Let me start by saying I've gone to Pep Boys for years. Bought rims, brake checks, oil changes...scheduling was easy and service was great. However my recent experiences have left me questioning if they are competent of even an oil change. I have two cars each received oil changes in February 2023. One car went on to leak oil from its oil filter cause it was loosely put on, the other car was due for an oil change and brought to an express change shop. The shop refused stating that the oil filter was broke and lacked the teeth needed to remove it by typical means. So had to schedule it for the oil change at Pep Boys. I scheduled an appointment online, when arriving at my 1:00pm appointment I was told they were backed up and it be awhile...I stopped back at 2:30 and car hadn't been moved from parking lot. When stopping in to the office to check in on my car oil change progress the associate just responded "Did you get a notification". I went on to get a phone call at 3:15pm stating that the valve cover gasket was in need of replacement. I approved of the repair. My electronic status report stated Brake Fluid was heavily contaminated. My car repair was done just after 5pm the brake fluid contamination was never addressed. I later see on my invoice that before my 25% off coupon the oil change service was $116! For my valve cover gasket repair I was billed almost $25 for "Pepguard extended labor warranty" I stopped in following day questioning the charge and said I was never informed of or agreed to an extended warranty. The associate told me it's on their automatically. It covers them in case the parts are broken...and it covers me too cause I won't have to pay the labor costs if it was to be redone. I never heard of a paid extended warranty being non-optional...I mean you are paying to get "extended" coverage beyond that of the manufacturer warranty shouldn't that be optional? Apparently not here seems like a cash grab. The service and quality here is not what it used to be, I will be going elsewhere to service my vehicles.

I needed an inspection pronto as mine had expired. I googled who could get me in that day and I was able to book an online appointment that very morning with Pep boys. They got it done within 45 minutes while I went next door to the gym to work out! Very happy with the result and will recommend them in the future.

Edit: corporate reached out in regards to my review, I'm happy to say that they do stand by their quality guarantee, however, be sure to read the fine print (where visible, it may be hidden)First- Pepboys has gone bankrupt and the parts center is closed. Next, I have never seen such low quality service anywhere. I went in for an inspection and was told that I needed two new tires, the only tires available are the lowest quality tires I've ever seen. I was there a total of four hours because they had spent three hours botching the wheel alignment because the techs couldn't figure it out (we let "the new guy" do the work without a senior tech checking). Would recommend going literally anywhere else, especially if you need any wheel-related work done. I should probably double check to make sure the lugs are secure.

It is atypical I gave a bad review. I had to make appointments twice for state inspection, yet the inspection is still undone due to the availability of technician or sticker.First time I made an appointment online. When I arrived at the store at the scheduled time, I was told that there was no technician available for state inspection. Then I made the second appointment in the store and thought this should work. However, at two hours before the scheduled time for the second appointment, I was informed that my appointment was cancelled as they run out of stickers. Seriously! Apparently it is a challenge for this place to have both technicians and stickers available at the same time.
